Lost Planet, Gears of War, and eventually...Halo 3 all will end up on the Pc with better frame rate, resolution and more content, so why should I waste money on the console version?

I want those games to remain exclusive to their console. Microsoft is just whoring out it's best titles now. Sure, it's great for owners of high end Pc's, but sucks for the rest of us. It's just another example of Microsoft screwing the Xbox owner over. All of us dedicated 360 owners should write into Microsoft expressing our disappointment over their refusal to keep their best titles on their native platform.

You buy the console so you can play then now perhaps?

Also, its not so much whoring games, as it is keeping WINDOWS the number 1 gaming OS .... if thye lost that, then they would lose alot more than with the Xbox360 ... the success of gaming on thier OS is more important ... its a good portion of the reason Windows is dominent ...

360 owners get these titles a long time before they go into the realm of PC's so more people can enjoy the games if they choose to. I dont see this hurting anybody outside of the system wars logic and rules.

Why should I try to talk you into or out of anything? Lost Planet has been out for ages on the 360, and Halo 3 will take years to make its way to PC. If you want to wait years per great game just to get them on PC, fine. I will be playing Halo 3 this September.

So you don't have to wait years for a port that may or may not come?

Besides, even if the games do eventually come to the PC. They'll be old news, and gamers will have moved onto other games.

I don't mind games like Gears and Lost Planet going to the PC. If gamers are willing to shell out hundreds of dollars to get a top of the range PC then they should be getting good games.

And I'm also sick of people saying ME is multiplatform! Until it's announced, it's not! KOTOR was different.

... No, it doesn't "Suck for the rest of us." Do you really take it personally when MS ports a Xbox game to the PC? Just so you know, Microsoft doesn't care about what goes on around SW. They aren't going to hold out porting a 360 game to the PC if it means more money, just because it could start a 15 page flame war and a string of account suicides in SW.

It's all good and MS knows this.

Many like myself do not want to wait around for a game that most have already played years ahead of time - loses the exitment to play something new & fresh where some like PC players dont mind.

For this hobby, having it first is a large part of the exitement and why I want to play in the first place.

It's like waitning to see a movie everyone else has seen and talked about - that just does'nt do it for most.

So if you want to be able to play the games before they become yesterdays news; a 360 is the best way to do that and at a very reasonable price point.

For MS it's a Win - Win situation and will continue and I for one don't mind at all. :)

It doesnt give any money to M$ , neither does Gears of War. Only games by Microsoft Studios earn anything.

It just keeps thier grip on gaming on PCs. So theres no room for Macs to step in.

The same reason Nintendo put Animal Crossing on the DS or Zelda: TP on the GC. The game is made available to a wider audience and that often means more sales.

Just no man - you say right at the end of you're sentence " we just by the O.S. " so yeah MS makes $$ b/c you buy the O.S. needed for 98% of the PC games.

Did I miss something?

Well said and given the traditional supporters of the Xbox platform are developers who also make PC games it's in their best interests to keep these developers happy. The best way to do that is to make it easy to make games for both 360/PC so they can maximise their profits. The more money developers make with 360/PC games the greater the chance of them making more games on these platforms.

KOTOR wasn't different, Bioware was always a loyal PC publisher. I doubt the people who get to play Hellgate London will be longing for another RPG, though.

Now the porting of GeOW really sucks for 360 owners. PC players will get a better-looking version, a campaign with roughly twice as much content and a level editor that will bolster the gameplay insanely. Basically if you've played the 360 version you won't get to see even half of what the game has.

ChiefFreeman

that's the key word here. It's not like anybody is going to put off buying any of these games (or a 360 for that matter) just cause they're coming out on pc.

Also if you ask most people that own both a PC and a 360 they'll tell you that it's pretty easy to figure out which platform they're buying on.

Yes, I DO take it as an insult. I like the idea that if I payed hard earned money for my console, that the best games made for it will REMAIN on it exclusively. I feel burned when they port it over a year later to the PC looking and playing better, with more features. I have a right to feel this way, and don't say that I don't.

How does it make the games you bought your 360 for any better or worse? If Gears of War wasn't coming to PC it wouldn't make the 360 version play any better. You do have a right to feel that way, I just don't understand it.

The funny thing is that the opposite could be said, because those games that go to both the 360 and PC end up being inferior on the 360. And I find upcoming PC exclusives much more exciting than anything the 360 has to offer. Do you have any 360 game that has the most remote chance of competing with Starcraft 2?

Yeah, I sure was mad that PC owners got Halo 2 2+ years after I had already beaten it...

Gears of War? If you were that hard up to play it, you played it already. Same goes for Lost Planet, and it will be the same for Halo 3 come September. Waiting more than a year to play last year's "gotta play them" games does not sound like fun.

So unless you like waiting, or you really like PC gaming, don't short change the 360 and the appeal of playing games when they are still new and fresh.

Competing in what framework? If you say it being better, that would be an opinion, and I would say that many games are better to me. If you mean sales wise, you could be onto something though, since Starcraft is huge in pro gaming.

Go punch some pillows, then cry.

You might feel alittle better.

[QUOTE="SecretPolice"][QUOTE="BillGates_Money"]wait...how does a game like lost planet bring in more money to m$ when it comes to pc?SecretPolice

98% of the PC game market depends on MS O.S. :)

M$ Depends on the PC Games market more than Gamers depend on M$ ... we just buy the OS ...

Just no man - you say right at the end of you're sentence " we just by the O.S. " so yeah MS makes $$ b/c you buy the O.S. needed for 98% of the PC games.

Did I miss something?

I buy my OS for more than just games, they earn nothing from me in terms of games at all, but if the consumer went elsewhere for gaming M$ would be screwed.

I have no idea why you feel you must argue this point but whatever makes you feel better is okay by me.

I think more games have come from PC to console than the other way around, so we are still in credit. Plus as some hermits will claim, we've mucked up a few of their games by them becoming multiplatform. So the games may be made better, but I doubt they'll top the best the PC has or the current best game on the 360 at the time the port is released.

[QUOTE="Natural_Mystic"]This obsession with "exclusives" is nonsense and only matters to fanboys. M$ has bigger things to worry about, like saving the dying PC gaming market. Without 360 hand-me-downs hermits would have hardly anything to look forward to.

The funny thing is that the opposite could be said, because those games that go to both the 360 and PC end up being inferior on the 360. And I find upcoming PC exclusives much more exciting than anything the 360 has to offer. Do you have any 360 game that has the most remote chance of competing with Starcraft 2?

I don't want to turn this into a PC vs 360 argument. If PC gaming is your thing, enjoy your precision controls and hi-rez textures. I left the endless cycle of upgrading my PC long ago-- I'm currently using a 2000mhz celeron laptop with 256MB of RAM . I prefer to do my gaming on a console.

I don't mind. It's not like the games get any worse for being ported to the PC.
