Anyone complaining is foolish. The Euro market got a free pack in game at launch and now there has been a price cut on the console which happens all the time. People are angry for buying a product early????

Sounds like a first world problem which no one cares about.

It's not normal for price cut to be this quick though and I didn't even want the pack in game I got (Fifa 14). Gamestop UK is selling Titanfall bundle for £370, that's £60 less than Xbone launch price, throw in Titanfall (a game I actually want) and I'm looking at about £100 minimum loss. Damn dat butthurt feel.........

I guess since they continue to talk about how good achievements are, they got their reward already from Microsoft:

I hope you like your super expensive controller and Achievement LOL

I was under the impression that EU received FIFA and Forza bundles at launch.

It's electronics, sometimes prices drop. I guess I better complain to Samsung that my TV and Galaxy were on sale a month after I bought them...they owe me right?

Somehow I bet the majority of the people crying don't even own an XBone. It would be nice if MS does offer some kind of game or something, but they sure aren't obligated to.

I guess EA, and Ubisoft owes me something for every game of theirs I bought at full price and three weeks later was $20 cheaper. It's the cost of being an earlier adapter.

This is a huge mess. If these people were going to complain, why did they buy a launch console? 3 months is the shortest time for a price cut in the history of the gaming industry, yes, but price cuts are inevitable. I bet PS4 is going to get a price cut around the holiday season and some people will complain.

Actually the original Xbox was faster.

Wrong. It hasn't even been 3 whole months yet. At least the original xbox had seemingly half a year.

United StatesNovember 2001$299 (launch price)
United StatesMay 2002$199 (-$100)

When did it drop in the UK?

No data available. It just says ?

I could have swore one of the regions cut the price literally a month after launch.

I could be wrong though.

Yeah that's what happened in UK and MS compensated with 2 free games and a controller.

In the United States where you live, that's not true at least. I remember clearly I got my Xbox at launch November 2001, and it was May 2002 that Sony surprised dropped the PS2 to $199 (-$100) and Xbox execs matched Sony's price drop at that very same E3 trade show.

Retailers were scrambling dealing with the sudden price war between the PS2/Xbox and their new prices at $199. That was six months, so it was not shorter.

So you got a game that you didn't like, there will be those that don't like Titanfall as well. How that adds to what you lost is ridiculous.

Because now I'll have to pay £40 for Titanfall so it is a loss for me. Even with no game that's still £60 loss.

I'm not sure why people get so upset when a product they buy gets a price cut after they purchase it. You buy it knowing that the retailer or the manufacturer can drop the price at any time. It's disappointing to know that you paid a bit more, but you knew that going in.

If you're an early adopter of a new product you should expect things like this to happen, not get upset when they do. That's the whole risk of being an early adapter. If Sony were to slash the price of the PS4 by $100 I wouldn't get upset despite paying full price for mine. It's not my decision to make. I just want them to be successful so that games continue to be made for the console.

Well said. Being an early adopter is a risk you take.

In all fairness, three months is probably earlier than anyone could/should realistically expect.

Edit:

I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that many people picked up the XBone specifically for titanfall and that they would'nt have minded waiting.

Yeah but you are not in a thread about a US price drop SolidSonyFan you are in a UK price drop thread.

You were wrong and I was polite about how I gave information despite the fact we both know you are a terrible troll lemming Xbot poster. I remember my Xbox launch purchases and the E3 price drop war and I shared the US territory story.

Everyone that disagrees with you is a Sheepfan, Sonyfan or Hermitfan. You hate Sony or whatever the most. I showed you respect in that post not throwing any insults, which your feeble mind didn't recognize. Apparently you relish in trolling and just being a rude poster. I provide links and proof to help you along, something you didn't offer at all. I provided the territory in case you were speaking of the UK.

At the very least I clarified what I was talking about to be clear. You come at me with insults, no links or proof, and a lack of understanding. What a waste.

Don't post your misinformation or reveal how much you don't understand, if you don't know jack-shit super lemming troll, kuucheekuu. ;) Kuu, the clown of SW.

Why post if you don't know? I see you do this constantly, always being corrected by posters...but you just keep typing BS. I guess your game is just type BS and see how much you can get away with. I wouldn't have quoted you if you had been more clear or provided a link to what the F you were talking about.

I know more about the UK launch, but considering your ad hominem approach (being rude when corrected or informed), I won't be dropping that information for you now.

In general, most retailers will give you a refund(the discounted price) in such circumstances. But only if it's been less than a month. Been going on for years. I'd be pissed, the same way I get pissed when any item I buy passes that threshold then immediately drops in price. Suck it up, and move on.

Funny how the overwhelming majority of people complaining are cows. Cows act like they care what MS does with the XOne. I think the price drop actually scares them. They don't want the XOne selling well anywhere.

This is the reason cows are the most pathetic bunch of whiny fans in SWs.

So stupid. Why does ANYONE think they're entitled to money? Why? If you just bought one, take your receipt in or return the damn thing and buy another if it matters to you so much. If you have had one a while, you already got your money's worth so shut the **** up.

That last part really doesn't need to be said since it's cows complaining about this.

Agreed. They cry like little girls. Truth be told, if you are a smart person, you want the competition to do well too because when a monopoly happens, everyone loses. I own all the next consoles, hoping they all do great so I can have great exclusives, great deals, great consoles.

They're getting a price cut, that's pretty much as big as breaks go as far as consoles are concerned.

When has a system price drop become a bad thing. I'm not talking about the idiots that want their money back because they couldn't wait, I'm talking about the stupidity I'm reading in this thread.

How is MS screwing their customers by doing something to increase the size of their fanbase? Something that addresses one of the major issues the console has left?

I know more about the UK launch, but considering your ad hominem approach (being rude when corrected or informed), I won't be dropping that information for you now.

Here we go..............

There was nothing to be wrong about. As usually you are assuming something that was not there. This is a story about the UK price drop not an American one. In no way was I talking about a US price drop and my suspicions were confirmed that the UK did have a price drop after a month which means I am correct.

So please take your windbag over zealous posts and pound sand with them. You are the biggest undercover pariah on the this board.

Here's the thing, I figured that while you didn't specify a territory, in this thread it could be a possibility you were referring to the UK, but I can't know that since you didn't specify and I know your history of spouting off and being corrected by users. I also know you are live in the US and would remember US territory sales drops from prior conversations (I even remember the State) which is why made sure to specify the US territory just in case of a misunderstanding (in making sure you knew which territory I was speaking of). I can understand your comment could go both ways which is why I gave details, but I didn't insult you while I was at it.

Regarding the staggered, deliberate nature of the UK Xbox O.G. launch and Sony forcing a sudden price drop at E3, I can see your comment could go either way. Without details and quoting you, I would never know. You offered more insults than actual information.

Your final statement is back to ad hominems...I'll refrain from partaking although I excel in that, in hopes a demonstration of just communicating without vitriol will help speed this process up.

It's silly to expect any type of refund. The launch of a console is always the most expensive it will ever be. The price will only go down.

I just told you why I think it's a little shoddy.

It's an incredibly fast devaluation of a completely new product.

The fact that it's a Titanfall bundle probably makes it all a little more salty, considering it's the XBones killer app; multiplat or not.

Grieved consumers consider their brand-spankin new console immediately replaced with a cheaper and better deal.

Again, no different. This happens all the time, especially with technology. A "grieved consumer" is silly. Early adopters with half a brain know exactly what they get into when they make these decisions.

I don't get to deny your right to being a corporatist, that's your prerogative. I just assumed you could at least understand why some people would feel ripped off.

Early adopters may be suckers, but MS depends on those suckers and I personally consider business models like that sick and unsustainable.

It's common sense that we can't trust corporations to do much be scam us, but it's also sad.

I had my story wrong. They STOPPED production of their 20GB PS3 after 5 months and discontinued it. Completely pulled the plug on that model. That's even worse then a price cut. They terminated a whole SKU. Only option was the $600 PS3. Then in July they slashed $100 off the 60GB PS3 in the U.S., which is a much larger market then UK. Screwed any gamer who had just payed $600 for it. No wonder the PS3 lose close to $8 billion. Whatever the case it was still a big FU to fans who shelled out $500 & $600. Then they removed PS2 B/C from the PS3. Then they removed Linux support from the PS3. They they removed SD. and other media card support from the PS3. Sony kept removing features from the PS3, which sucked.

I got my Xbox One on launch day and don't regret it at all! Fair enough the price has been cut but not by that much. Also I'd imagine Xbox One is sold out almost everywhere at the moment so it would be stressful shopping around trying to get a cheaper console. In truth the only thing I've been angry with in regards to Xbox One was the monstrosity that was Ryse!

Funny how the overwhelming majority of people complaining are cows. Cows act like they care what MS does with the XOne. I think the price drop actually scares them. They don't want the XOne selling well anywhere.

This is the reason cows are the most pathetic bunch of whiny fans in SWs.

This is the norm for Cows when it comes to the XB1 or Microsoft. Whether it's good or bad news about XB1, Cows will bitch and moan about it. Try every way to spin it in a bad light. When the same shit happens on the PS4 like the BLOD and Errors corrupting their save files. Cows will damage control it like it's not a big issue, even though thousands of gamers are being affected by it. Lems pay for XBL to play online. Cows think it's the worse thing ever. Bitch about it all generation. Now Cows pay or PSPlus to play online. Best thing in the world to Cows. Free games, etc.. lmao!! Complete hypocritical idiots. Cows are the clowns of SW.

Anyone expecting a refund is a dummy. It doesn't matter how long the console comes out.

This is why companies put out disclaimers. Terms, conditions, terms of service are subject to change at the discretion of the company. People whining about this need to learn to read.

That being said, the loudest people on this issue, seem to have never bought the console in the first place. Go figure.

If you couldn't tell that the XB1 was a possible disaster after the mess leading up to its release you're a fool if you think it wasn't a gamble buying it early. Thats why I chose the PS4 because it represented a much smaller risk. The earlier you buy a console the more chance you run of buying a lemon due to hardware issues or it hitting some other trouble. I don't mind gambling on certain things on launch because I like new tech, on other things i'll wait *shrug*

A free Live game for the early supporters seems like a plausible thing to do.

So when consumers demand a price drop, and MS drops the price, that's MS saying "F*** you"?

What world do cows live in?

I considered it a hot potato and still find it unappealing. Then again, I'm a nerdy enthusiast; an advantage most gamers don't have.

I don't mean this in an offensive way, but parents, children and casuals out there have no use for Captain Hindsight here, they just feel ripped off because their completely new kit immediately got replaced with a cheaper, better deal.

Did I know? Sure, but I can still empathize with the poor suckers. Just because consumers can't expect better treatment does'nt mean they should'nt (in a better world).

I expect they feel akin to being sold an old model just before a new one makes it obsolete; emphasis on they feel ;)

Did Sony say, "F you!" when they reduced the PS3 by $100 3 months after it launched?

Really? I'm a parent and an early adopter yet I don't feel ripped off. Why are you trying to tell us how someone else feels? How do you know how someone is feeling about a price drop?

Cows are so funny. I guess they think it's better to keep the price high as opposed to lowering the price so more consumers can afford it.

More buyers == bigger community, bigger community == game support from devs, game support from devs == more games. Only in a cows little world would this be a bad thing.

This is standard procedure. The people who bought an XB1 at launch were happy with their purchase at the time. Retroactively getting angry because it is now cheaper, while partially human nature, is idiotic.

@kingtito:

Since you're a system warrior you knew what to expect from the XBone.

I'm glad that you're happy with your purchase but you could have just assumed that I was making a generalized referral to the people who actually are upset.

Feeling a little trollish? What makes you think I'm a cow?

Edit:

Nevermind, you can consider me a cow if it pleases you.

How do you know how others are feeling? How many people have you polled?

I was referencing the majority of cows in this thread not necessarily you. No I'm not trolling, I just don't think a lot of early adopters aren't actually upset about a price drop in the UK or the TF bundle. The only people that seemed to be bothered are cows and they neither have an XOne or have plans on getting one.

@kingtito:

We're having this discussion because people are upset enough to warrant sensationalistic articles about the topic, that's how I "know".

If that's not good enough, you're going to have to ask Wasdie, because I was referring to the group of people he mentioned; although I was quoting Blue_Hazy_Basic.

Do you expect me to provide you with an exact demographic along with algebraic proof? Would you rather I had just mentioned casuals? Consumers?

Let's not become pedantic.
