Old news? Or am I from the future, cos I knew for like a month now that Kinect has sold 8 million units.
I think Dance Central has proven to many people that Kinect is great when devs use it properly and make something thats great for using your whole body with.
The funny part is all the cows trying to downplay it. If the roles were reversed and Move was doing this good you know they would be singing a different tune. I do not own Kinect or plan to own one at this time but I am not a hater also. People seem to love it so power to them

GAMERS don't want to see this kind of thing be overly successful. Why defend Kinect or Move when they're both obviously just cash-ins on Nintendo's casual success? I, for one, don't want Sony or Microsoft focusing all their time and effort on these gimmicks. I want core games, and nothing more. So more focus on casual games doesn't benefit me at all... :? Look at Microsoft, they've already started this year with their lack of exclusives. They could have taken that $500,000,000 and made 15+ GREAT core games with it. Instead, they spend all that money on brainwashing advertisements to cash in on the casuals. That's why 360 core gamers wont get crap from Microsoft first party studios this year.
I think that's grossly exaggerating and creating massive assumptions. We don't know what will happen. Maybe it will all be trash but then it could also be the step closer to the holodeck from star trek or THE WORLD from .hack//.AncientDozerJudging from what I've seen from Nintendo and what I've already seen since the Move and the Kinect have been out(and pretty much every game set to released for them), no it's not revolutionary. How can motion controls be revolutionary when practically all of the good games on the Wii are games that are just as good if not better off without motion controls? Look at NSMB Wii, SMG, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Metroid Prime 3, Zelda, Super Smash Bros, Goldeneye 007, and the list goes on and on and on. All of these great Wii exclusives that either don't use motion controls in a particularly important manner(in fact, most of them just do "shake remote to do this attack") and some of them BENEFIT using a normal controller. (Like SSBB... most people would rather just use Gamecube controllers :? ) Some revolution, huh?
[QUOTE="Sollet"]What's more funny is that you do the exact thing when it comes to Sony's products.I have a PS3 so I am not anti it. I just feel the need sometimes to make sure cows are set straight sometimes. Cow" PS3 is the best console ever"- truth-clearly it is not since the least amount of people want it Cow " The PS3 has the bet games" - truth-Ya as long as you are not comparing it the the PC or 360 library. And so on and on and on. I am more anti PS3 fans which in general I do not like at all then I am anti the PS3. What are you? The SW police? please lol. Also just because you say one says "I own a ps3" doesn't make one less biased.[QUOTE="rybe1025"]

It's Dance Central causing the sales. The only proper kinect game so far, and extremely popular.KungfuKittenOr maybe sold = shipped convientently for the holidays?
Move can at least be used to games as Dead Space Extraction and KZ3 which is way better than Dance Central and other casual stuff, at least in my opinion. The funny part is all the cows trying to downplay it. I agree with this completely.
What's more funny is that you do the exact thing when it comes to Sony's products. I noticed the same thing as well anyways good for MS, I just hope they give us a little more support this year.[QUOTE="rybe1025"]

[QUOTE="Messiahbolical-"]It's amazing what $500,000,000 worth of brainwashing can do.lordlorsBrainwashing? So making people have fun is brainwashing now? Oh how i love the elitism of the so called "hardcore" gamer I consider advertisements and promotions in general to be brainwashing. Ads are almost always just trying to convince people that they "must have" their product or that their product is the "coolest thing out that you gotta get" or that their product is "high quality" without any basis or proof for their claims. If you want a good example, watch the Bud Light commercials that aired during the Super Bowl earlier. Never seen a company brainwash so much in my life. They want you to think it's so cool to drink Bud Light, they want you to think the flavor is so great, and that they put so much craftsmanship into brewing it even though in reality it's cheap over-carbonated piss water brewed in mass quantities using adjuncts like Corn and Rice as cheap alternatives to quality malts usually found in beer like barley, rye, oats, caramel malts, roasted malts... etc. That's just my feeling on the whole thing. If you have to spend $500,000,000 to get something to sell, it must not be that good. That's probably more money than they spent designing the damn thing and making launch titles for it to begin with. Right now there's no "killer app" for the Kinect... in fact, there's barely even that many games on it at all... let alone good ones. So why is it selling so much? What specific "amazing" games are drawing people to it? :? None. It's simply because Microsoft convinced people that it's cool.

As you can see the PS3 has both quality AND quantity. ;) And there's a lot of exclusives the PS3 has that the 360 just doesn't have an answer for while the PS3 has an answer for just about every 360 exclusive out there. That's fine though. The 360 gets marginally better ports of multiplats than the PS3 though... so it all evens out, right? ;)

just because you prefer something, it doesn't make it better quality.
Games aren't like cars. Clearly a Jaguar is of better quality than a Smart Car. But that is because of the parts and materials used as well as a design that can be proven to deliver better performance. With games, all developers have access to the same tools. (yeah I know different engines have different tools, but even the choice of engine was a decision they made) so if everyone is working with the same tools, the only way to judge something is by preference. It's like art. Artists have a canvas and paint. Some people love Monet, some don't. Some people like Pollock, some don't. Hell, some people like thin supermodels and some people like fat chicks, but they're both flesh and bone. Who's to say what kind of Woman is of better quality. To me games are an art form, and the quality of someone's work must be judge subjectively.GAMERS don't want to see this kind of thing be overly successful. Messiahbolical-
I would like for the Move and Kinect to be successful.

Come on now. Not only was PDZ overrated by Gamespot even for it's time(81 metascore, which is sad since standards hadn't even been established for the gen yet as it was a launch title) but it's 5 and a half years old now while Resistance 2 is 2 and a half years old... Do you really think they're equal? :?
Meh, I'll give it to you anyways. But where's PDZ2 then? We've already had Resistance 1 + 2 and Resistance 3 on the way. So where's PDZ 2 + 3? to match up?
Just face it, the 360 only has 1 great exclusive FPS franchise while the PS3 has 2. And on top of that, there's still a lot of genres there that Microsoft hasn't matched Sony on. I know you probably don't care, and either to I to some extent... but you can't say quality over quantity if the PS3 has just as much(sometimes more) quality exclusives in almost every genre WITH more quantity.
