They want this WAY too badly. It's suspicious as hell. When all efforts against Sony has failed, they have to resort to politicking against Sony now. Notice when Ybarra is pressed about the F2P paywall issue for Xbox games, he immediately ducks out of the conversation.

And they wait before the Spider-Man reviews drop to say this. They're not even being subtle anymore. LOL!

They have to attack Sony's image because it's the only way they can hurt Sony........ If they put as much effort in to improving Xbox as a brand as they do attacking Sony like this they would be in a much better position then they are now.

I'm really expecting MS to go full on DJT and blast Sony whenever they get the opportunity now. This is the company that has everything, but can't stop kicking dirt because they can't have this.

To give an idea of how sad this is, this is like Sony begging MS to put their first party lineup on their console to "keep gamers playing together". They wouldn't do that because that would be one less reason to buy an Xbox for people interested in a PS console. This is the lowest moment of the Xbox brand this gen.

Just over an hour to go until reviews confirm PS4 is getting another masterpiece exclusive on Friday.

Crossplay is a good thing and should be the future, if not present, of gaming. There is simply no good practical reason to not have it, and many good reasons for it.

That said, this is pretty pathetic from Mr. Ybarra. Promotion of crossplay needs to be a consumer-led effort.

I think you mean "You reap what you sow." Besides, 360 owners were paying for Xbox live, which gave a more stable experience than Sony's free online network....they couldn't justify allowing PS3 owners to use xbox's servers for free while Xbox owners paid.

Spin and dodge is the MS way. Charging people to play Fortnite when every other platform lets you play it for free is far more anti-consumer than not allowing crossplay.

The PS4 version of fortnite already has cross play,it just exclude the xbox for obvious reasons MS were total assholes about it last gen,and switch which again never had anything cross play with the PS ever.

Both of these 2 companies have something in common they both are greatly behind the PS4 in user base,to the point where joining both still trail the PS4.

Cross play is great no sense in saying otherwise,but i do understand why sony does it.

No one should downplay cross play and the PS4 does support it since launch contrary to the xbox one which was later on introduce as a 180 move,is a great feature but MS is terrible and desperate and sony should continue to flip the finger at them.
