Me thinks it's just a loose connection or a cable not even plugged in but Yikes, I should think RRoD is last thing MS wants to advertise or could it be some SDF member intentionally doing this for bad publicity ? Hmmm.

So Microsoft is doing pretty good in Japan. Not great, but good. Good enough to beat the PS3last month. This is the Xbox 360 display at Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara. The banner in the front is an advertisement for an entertainment festival in Akihabara - it's a red herring, disregard. Back in August, the Xbox 360 sold outin this very store. If you've been to Akihabara, you know that this is a very large retailer. Lots of shoppers! So for Microsoft to sell out right here is a good sign, and it's great for the Xbox 360's reputation in Japan. This demo set-up is not. Well, no, the set-up is fine, it's the upkeep. But just as Microsoft starts to gain ground in Japan, an old friend rears its ugly head...

Hrm. Let's get a closer look. Over there, right about that price cut poster.
Hello, you. Out of all the demo kiosk consoles Microsoft needsworking in Japan... Doubt this will catastrophically affect Xbox 360 sales in Japan. Microsoft will most likely sell lots of consoles this holiday season. (So will will Nintendo and Sony. Everyone wins!)

I like how people search the internet, copy and paste, then bring it to system wars. This will never get old.

You're not accusing the TC of being a cow are you? If so then you need to leave and learn who he is.

how you know its a falcon chip?

how do you know it is not a falcon chip?

the thing is, all Xbox 360s are prone to RROD, despite the chip, even if it is Falcon, Eagle, Jasper or Casper.

I don't know what it is. I asked the question because the chances of it being one is low. It was most likely there for some time. SO it would more than likely be an older model. How old? who knows.

Here's the thing. MS has the Trouble shooting for when the power supply isn't fully conected or needs reset as you can see, they are talking three red lights.

I myself never experienced RRoD so just going by Xbox home page.

"

SYMPTOMS

Three lights flash red on the Ring of Light (RoL) on the front of your Xbox 360 console. The upper-right quadrant light is the only light that does not flash red.

CAUSE

The three flashing red lights may indicate that there is a hardware problem with your Xbox 360 console.

MORE INFORMATION

If you are experiencing this problem, you can submit a console-repair request online. However, before you submit your request, first try the following two steps to verify the problem: 1.When you turn on the console, look at the light on the power supply. The power supply light should illuminate green even if the three lights on the Ring of Light flash red. If the power supply light is not green, please follow the steps in one of the following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles: 906101 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906101/) Troubleshooting your Xbox 360 Power Supply when the light is red 906102 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906102/) Troubleshooting your Xbox 360 Power Supply when the light is orange 906103 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906103/) Troubleshooting your Xbox 360 Power Supply when the light is not illuminated 2.Turn off the console. Wait 10 seconds, and then turn on the console again to see whether the problem re-occurs.

Look how they have it set up. It's in a plastic container, with no noticeable ventilation. That is like asking for RROD. I'm not defending Microsoft, they should never have made such unreliable hardware, but come on!

Very True..I doubt there's any system that can be trapped in that encloser for a long period of time without over heating.

Ugh, I've seen no telling how many RROD Xbox 360 SKUs in different stores. It's almost fun to run to the 360 section to just see if the 360 is RROD'd or not.

I dont see how they even expect them to last long though, unless those plastic bubble covers or whatever are ventilated in the back or something...

Oh right. The PS3 is better than a $5000 computer with a cooling system for $300, because even that has a chance of overheating.

Almost every store with a demo 360 uses that same design. Does MS make it or something?

I don't really have a reason to lie though, I am not a fanboy. PS3s can overheat and when they do, they are extremely loud. If you would like to hear the sound try turning off your PS3 with the switch on the back then hold the power button on the front and flip the switch back to on(this is only if you have the newer models).

You are actually comparing the PS3s FAN TEST to what it sounds like while functioning ?That test takes it to the MAX RPM.Its in NO-WAY what it can sound like while playing a game.To correct you fan test is enabled by holding the eject button and flipping the rear switch NOT the power button.

Whatever the case maybe you still havent proved on how it will sound louder than your 360.

I've seen lots of RROD 360 displays at stores. They simply don't maintain them properly.

[QUOTE="Furi-Kun"]Even the Wii can overheat.spinecaton

And yet the PS3 cant(ofcourse until and unless its forcefully done).Thats called a design.

You want to hear what the PS3 sounds like when it overheats?

Mine had overheating problems, it was louder then my fan and my xbox 360. It was extremely annoying to try and watch movies to.

I dont believe you :).Come one man who you kidding ? There are some PS3s at fault....i can post a vid of my PS3 it NEVER makes that much of noise.

I don't really have a reason to lie though, I am not a fanboy. PS3s can overheat and when they do, they are extremely loud. If you would like to hear the sound try turning off your PS3 with the switch on the back then hold the power button on the front and flip the switch back to on(this is only if you have the newer models).

When they overheat, thanks for clearing that up.
