Halo 3( undoubtedley ms best exclusive) is out right now and it barely pushed the sales of the 360. What makes them think that their lame lineup next year will be any help.:lol:insomnia37
Wow, what an obivous blinded fanboy lol. Not just by your comment, but by your idiotic sig too.
i'm smart. I dont buy faulty hardware until they fix it.ff7isnumbaone
Agreed. They'll sell more consoles next year than this year with people getting "spares" in order to have something to hold them over during repair downtimes.
You know what they really need to do if they wantto sell more consoles? Bundle inwireless adapter! For the love of god, whenever i try to sell one of these things, thats a killer (i work in a GAMEin the UK). To find out that it costs £100 to play wirelessly over the internet, when the PS3 does if for free (£60 adapter and £40 live gold) is ridiculous, especially when online is supposed to beone of the main reasons for buying a 360. nicenator
That's not a bad idea.
I'd take enhanced reliability (at least to the level of its competitors) and free online as even more attractive improvements.
How is this news? Comment like "We will sell less consoles next year" would be news.EntwineX
hahaha
It's like when a sports team predicts a win. I'd like to see a player guarantee a loss. Now that would be an ESPN newsfest.
Didnt they sell less in 2007 compared to 2006? :| And MS is in last place in Europe and Japan. Theres only one direction for them to go there...Carmilla31
No, they sold many more consoles this year than last year.
LOL. Im sorry, but that is Wishful thinking FTW right there. Sony is basically Vice gripping Europe right now. and 360 really dosent have a "equal to 2007 in quality" lineup in 08. black_awpN1
Ha-ha. Wheres the numbers?
Yup MS will outsell sony 2:1 in europe next yearMedic_B
I wont say MS will outsell sony 2:1. Sony will be on top until GTA IV hits EU. Then MS will drop the price and then the 360 will barely outsell PS3 for rest of the year.
Captain Obvious to the rescue!
With more games, a bigger XBL community and a few more price drops I would hope so. The 360 actually did well this year. The only quarter that was down from last year as far as ship numbers go was Q1. Q2 and Q3 basically did a flip flip from the year before and Q4 will probably add an additional 1 million up from last year, which basically means MS shipped as many units this year as they did last year for the most part.
By the end of 2007 the 360 will have probably shipped to retail between 18 to 20 million, meaning the pace hasn't slowed at all and they are still on pace to surpass overall XBOX sales as soon as next year, while also posting a profit for the fiscal year. That is a huge accomplishment IMO, not to mention the 11 to 12 million XBL user base by end of 2008.
In Europe?
No i don't think they could sell much more than normal, price drops or not.
People have pretty much decided what they want, there is no shortage of x360's.
KungfuKitten
You say that as if MS is getting trounced in Europe. Its not even 2:1, in fact when it comes to sales ratio, the 360 is doing better in Europe than the PS3 is doing in America. Would you say that the for the US, "I don't think [PS3] could sell much more than normal, price drops or not. People have pretty much decided what they want, there is no shortage of PS3s."? By your own logic you should.
Don't sales always increase as consoles get more games and/or drop in price?
ZIMdoom
Yep. In fact most consoles have their biggest sale numbers in their 3rd, 4th and 5th years. Why? The selection of games is massive by then, the price continues to fall, the reliability of the hardware is much better, etc.
I love how cows are saying PS3 is anhilating the 360everywhere in Europe (except the UK where we have actual numbers)
Heres a link that proves you're wrong

This is an important topic to me because I'm concerned with who comes in third behind the Wii and PC.Riverwolf007Why does it concern you? Regardless, I wonder how they're really planning on doing this. It's not like they have another FPS Halo ready to roll.

There are numbers from other European countries which is provided by Chart Track. Countries like example Germany, France, Spain, Sweden and Ireland. You have to be a subscriber to get the info, Go Nintendo does however often publish it.

Microsoft will definitely move more consoles next year. It's inevitable provided they do a price cut. They will need to do a very sizable price cut the next time if they really want to make a big difference. With Xbox 360s now much cheaper to produce thanks to the falcon architecture, and with economies of scale on their side and a very strong software library, Microsoft has the flexibility to lower the price on the console further. It will probably come in the Spring just before GTA IV hits. That would make the most sense for Microsoft.
We might see a price cut of $100 for the Elite, $80 for the Pro, and $80 for the Arcade. $199, $269, and $349 respectively. Now that's a very good mass market price range and Microsoft should be able to move millions more 360s in North America and Europe. It will make it very easy for gamers who don't have a next-gen console and want GTA IV.
Japan is a lost cause, but Microsoft is not giving up there so you gotta admire their spirit. It's amazing that even with the cheaper price tag and the far better library of games for Japanese gamers that they are still not buying the 360. Currently, the 360s library is stronger than the PS3 on all fronts, including JRPGs, but they still can't move a lot of consoles. It's quite a shame. The Japanese just will not buy a non-Nintendo, non-Sony gaming product. The only way that Microsoft will move consoles in Japan is if they buy Square Enix and make all their future titles Xbox 360 exclusives. That would be a huge coup. But that's not gonna happen, so Microsoft is just screwed.
Well, 2007 has been about damage control for the hardware failures for Microsoft. Remember the cutting of hardware shipments down to 11.6 million from 15 million in Q2?
Good call with focusing on Europe now, Japan is a lost cause this generation and rather irrelevant in the console race. What is needed would be Japanese developer support. Once more Japanese centered games come out more systems will sell.

Doing better doesn't equal dominance. And if you actually go to that site and read what it says it only has info for console sales in the UK, you're confusing software with hardware.
