[QUOTE="Benny_Blakk"]

[QUOTE="ayoox1"] butthurt cow  3.5 gb ram for Sony PS4 os, 3 gb ram for xbox one os, failayoox1

Talk about CLUELESS.

4.5 GB GDDR5 is far superior to 5 GB DDR3.

http://www.gamekicker.com/gaming-news/ps4%E2%80%B2s-5-5-gb-for-games-developer-calls-rumour-false-other-sources-say-6-gb

Multiple sources say that there are actually games in development that use up to 6 GB. But all PS4 developers denounce the rumor of the OS using 3.5 GB of RAM. Turns out that this was just a rumor originating from Digital Foundry (really just a specualtion on their part) and XBot Nation ran a million miles with it without looking back or to check to see if there is even any validity to said rumor.

"Good job".

butthurt cow, i take DF word over your word any day of week:lol: they got documentation from developers inside, now sony try to spin off the RAM debacle by only saying there is "flexible memory" and OS dont use it, for all we know flexible memory can be 512 mb only  TCHBO!!!! stay mad

Terrible. First off, the RAM only emerged from speculation in the first place. Back in February, they first announced 8 GB GDDR5 and soon followed RUMORS of RAM allocation. SONY never officially stated RAM allocation to date. AND DF only stated rumor. But official PS4 devs debunk that claim. And SONY officially rejects that too. So you're deliberately leaving your gears stuck on stupid just to have a "bragging point". But where's the merit in your "victory" if its based on a farce? Smh

The subject of my post relates to PS4's RAM. That has absolutely nothing to do with MS. Digital Foundry hasn't even remotely indicated their "source", whereas actual developers AND the product manufacturer reject said rumors calling them false.  But simply because you want to believe the deity known as Digital Foundry, that doesn't give their claim any credibility. You can do better than that.

I think it's about flexibility and being able to adding new apps and media the system over time and still be able to run everything smoothly. That's why Sony now has 3.5 GB RAM allocated to their O/S and other future apps like TV and Music. lol!!

Still a smaller OS than the PS4's lame-looking one. Neither should be this big, it's ridiculous.Blabadon

Agreed.

That's why the PS4 is in such a good position. By gamers, for gamers, the Sony way.

So basically a FACT isn't recognized as such because you're forever singed by something the source said in the past, right? To make matters even worse, it begins with Brian Provinciano.  Your tunnel vision speaks volumes.

*ROASTING SESSION*

How dumb does that make you look considering the fact that your feelings were hurt over something they said about XBox, and MS isn't even the subject here?

As I stated before, developers AND SONY list that nonsense as being false.  There are many articles over the net that debunk said rumor as being false. Stay stuck on stupid all you want. But I'm sure you're accustomed to doing so and we've come to expect that from you and your ilk.

Thuway was the first who called the xbox 720 as been ahead of the PS4 power wise, but it was because he mixed the consoles..

DF was wrong about several things to and lately is basically doing encargo articles for MS.

The PS4 vs xbox one comparison is the latest, using a 7850 to emulate the xbox one spec is a joke, the xbox one is weaker, different architecture (bonaire) not Pitcairn, and has half the ROP's.

Not to mention they were wrong about the whole 7 minute recording and then refused to admit they got it wrong, and accused sony of fixing the error they make,in a very arrogant way when the audio is all over the net and clearly say several minutes not seven.

The whole anti PS4 DF crusade started when MS leaked to DF that some how ESRAM was working better than they expected,DF claimed it was a developers, but it was latter reveal that was MS it self the source..

In fact even that backfire for MS because because by the number MS gave away it was estimated by math that the GPU in did appear to have been downgrade to 750mhz.

Maybe you should read more Neogaf thuway was a source to DF as well.

Before PS4 and Xbox One were revealed, I remember having frank discussions with plenty of "insiders" while I was doing an observorship in Washington.

I talked to too many people (IRL and on GAF) who pretended to be somebody else, or were parroting information handed from tertiary sources. Eventually I found a few people who were spot on, and some who provided me with concrete evidence (the names of the Onion/Garlic, specific title names in development, and sheets that have still yet to leak).

However, what is relevant to the discussion was the paranoia at the time. Microsoft, I, and the rest of the developer community sternly believed Sony was going to go with 4 GB of GDDR5. Developers, engineers, and programmers all wrote off the PS4 as having a huge handicap with a distinct compute edge. However, unanimously they agreed mutliplatform titles would perform better on Xbox One.

I was having dinner with a GAF member / Microsoft employee before the February 20th Sony event, who told me Sony would be at a distinct disadvantage and should have bet the farm on RAM. Later in the week, BruceLeeRoy (who I personally know in real life) and I had both heard from a source that Sony had upped the RAM on PS4.

Bruce and I had numerous phone discussions about how this was possible, I contacted Jschrier from Kotaku, and even Richard Leadbetter, because this source who had provided me with 100% information in the past, was telling me that Sony upgraded the RAM (he didn't tell me how much). Not a single person corroborated.

In any case, internally at Microsoft before PS4 was announced they had a document which had expectations for PS4. The most interesting line was this:
"Estimate PS4 performance to be roughly 12-16X PS3".

They didn't mention anything about RAM, but I heard no one expected 8 GB GDDR5.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=73441896&postcount=94

This is a post of thuway 2 days ago maybe you should read it,i partially quote it but the full one is on the link,it explain sertain things.

MS and developer actually believed that multiplatform games would run better on xbox one, because they expected sony to come with something complicated like always.

MS  expected sony to have a strong GPU but bottle neck by memory and other factors,MS did not expected ram to be 8GB on the PS4,and MS expected the power to be 12 to 16 PS3.
