Sony and Nintendo were smart enough to thoruoghly test their consoles and make them work right before they released them out to the public. MS doesn't care if it releases poor products as they know there's enough people to put up with that sort of hooey. I wasn't one of them I got rid of mine after 2 failures. They don't deserve my business!patriots7672
Yeah and Sony did a fine job of that with the PS1 and 2 right?
Nintendo is the only console manufacturer with a long history of quality worksmanship. It took Sony two tries to finally get it right.

NES:?It's good that X360 RROD problem is possibly fixed with the Jasper chip. However, even lemmings can't deny that the damage has been done, big time. Microsoft should have done this to begin with on launch. Now, when developers are having financial troubles, and creating HD gaming puts companies at a loss, I think the significance of Jasper chip will not neither decrease nor increase in sales. Hopefully, for those old X360 that are broken, they are LIABLE to change them into Jasper chips. Zaistev_basicAnd MS are doing everything to compensate, they replaced my Dec 06 produced console with Opus one even though i sent it in for a DVD drive issue

ugh, why do people always throw in the ps2 argument? that's last-gen. we're talking about the current gen. it's like saying, 'hey, your atari 2600 broke, right?' come on. the ps3 and the wii are reliable pieces of hardware compared to the 360. period. why do people always have to bring up last-gen consoles which have nothing to do with the topic? so please let go of the last-gen arguments. i know you can't say anything bad about the ps3 or the wii's hardware, but saying 'oh ps2 was..ps1 was..gamecube was...' etc is just stupid. we want 'IS' not 'WAS'. why? because those ''WAS' had already been fixed and are now reliable consoles.roddollenteAnd this gen only are people having installs forced down their throats killing the very reason for console gaming That makes it worse am right:?

You did not pay to get your system to be RROD. We bought those X360 so that we can enjoy our games without any worries of such hardware failure. So in my opinion, if you say MS did everything, they should given replace you X360 again to Jasper one not another refurbished.

worse? so what if a game installs on my HDD? if you're talking about the ps3, well it has alot of space. i mean, with a 5gb install (the highest that i've encountered) only takes up a fraction of your hard drive.lol. too bad you dont have a ps3. because ps3 owners don't whine about installs whatsoever. if it's necessary then why not? that's why your consoles comes with a 40 gb or more. most game only take up 2-3GB. some even less. you can even upgrade it without voiding the warranty. ugh.there are alot of options for us ps3 owners. dont think the wii has installation. too bad for 20gb 360 owners. it's not in any way worse at all. it's not even a problem. lol.
I feel for the people who had to suffer the RROD before Microsoft FINALLY found a solution. You guys deserved better :(masterflame10I concur! Those people deserve to get their X360 replace as Jasper chip, than refurbished. Anyone who haven't got their old version of X360 into RROD should also be replace by Jasper. No x360 owner deserves to go through RROD to begin with. So if Microsoft replaces every X360 bought that are older than Jasper, then you can say that Microsoft did everything to help past X360 to deal with RROD. Otherwise, no matter how you look at it, a lot of people got screwed by MS.
[QUOTE="lusitanogamer"]Is it safe to get a 360 now? I don't want to worry about a red ring when i buy one.carljohnson3456I'm sure the new ones are pretty safe. I dont have alot of money to throw around in the video game department, but I always think about selling my 20 GB 360 and just buying a core. Sure, I'd lose the HDD but at least I know I'd have a reliable 360. Heck, I just might do that... I wonder if I could get $200 for a 20 GB 360 though... wonder what the trade in value at Gamestop is.
Since this is Gamestop we're talking about, you'd be looking at anywhere between $75 - $100 my friend.:?
If Sony can capitalize on ANYTHING after the release of Killzone 2, it is this. Sony makes a relyable console, they could use that in their marketing.WasdieExcept for all the DRE's on their bluray rom reader... I know many who have gotten it already, and some of them jsut cant PAY for the repair on their ps3 console, since sony doesnt cover DRE under warranty.
Funny -- I'm apart of that worst of the worst; the launch Xbox 360s and yet even still, after my warranty has come and gone, my console stills runs PERFECT.Stevo_the_gamerGood for you. However, that does not excuse Microsoft for selling a console that is unreliable. No matter how many stories I heard about their XBox 360 is still in great shape, a lot of gamers, EVEN the media have concur, EVEN Microsoft admitted, that there are a lot of gamers suffered with the X360 RROD. The damage has been done, not everyone is properly conpensated. Hopefully, for Microsoft next console, they won't lie to us again and produce a system that is reliable.

Indeed, good for me -- Microsoft acted in a very proper and respectful way, by giving gamers three years of warranty and by taking that 1 billion dollar hit because of that warranty and the refunds. It only took them a good year, or slightly more, to give this warranty out to those who were in need of it. Those who payed to get their Xbox 360 fixed were fully compensated, and the issue has been for the most part, resolved. It took Sony five years to admit, via a class-action lawsuit mind you, that they knowingly shipped their PS2 with problems. All within all those years, people were forced to pay -- including me -- $150.00 to get their PS2 fixed, and we all were given, if I remember correctly, $35 in return with a free game. Microsoft is not the first company to ship out a console with problems. The PS1 and PS2 both were plagued with problems, but many went unnoticed -- the Xbox 360 issue was blown out of proportion because of how mass-media via internet became so popular.

Still that does not excuse Microsoft. You cannot say that because one company does less evil does not mean what they did is not evil. You can point out to the PS2, which is also legitimate. Nevertheless, damage has been done. You can blame the media for it, but you cannot put Microsoft out for the blame. Is like Republicans saying that the media is the reason why they lost the election.

I'm sure I can guarantee to you next generation that Microsoft's new console will be -- by far -- the most reliable console, Microsoft learns from their mistakes. And ironically enough, the media is the reason why they lost the election -- false principles and baseless hopes of change as well, but that's a different discussion entirely. ;) Huh? false principles and baseless hopes. Sorry to pry but if the party that put us into the recession that is comparible to great depression, two wars that cost us 500 nillion dollars that cause more hatred from muslim and stregthen our enemies, the most corrupt government which has the pure culture of cronnism. We can always blame the media all we want, but even the one involved, Microsoft and Republicans, have admitted they made a mistake and they are paying dearly, so as we pay dearly for their mistake.

Call me insane, but I think that Microsoft's problem has to do with the shape of the console.
Yes, that means I am suggesting that the RROD comes from the concave shape of the console.
Can we think of any other concave-ish shape console? No. Can we think of any console that had a similar problem? No.
So yeah, just a crazy theory, but maybe if MS tried changing the shape of the console, the problem would go away?
How would you know if you got the jasper mine was manufactyred in aug 07 and it died on me saturday, I hope they do put the jasper in it.
Did they just say that if you get your 360 to RROD, they will fix it, which will insure that it won't break again LOL. So I need to RROD my 360 to finally make it RROD prrof zzzz.
finally........
now if cows want to use the rrod argument, they MUST refer to pre-jasper models.
Keep-the-Faith
Finally?
This isn't taken as fact by anyone here, this is just an article written essentially as PR for M$. Time will tell us what we need to know, not M$'s PR.

Whooooooo Yeah!
Lol what show is that pic from? And why is the girl wearing her underwear like super man LOL
I don't know. It's some really terrible Van Damme flick...:lol:But that's how they got down in the late 80's early 90's...
The clip is from one of the Breakin movies. There are two that I know of. They are cheesy flicks abotu break dancing in the early 80's. Crazy thing is, I have seen the movies. It blows my mind that Van Douche is in one of them. Please Log In to post.
