Asked how long Microsoft would keep making the Xbox 360, he said, "One day longer than the lifespan of the PlayStation 3." That means that Microsoft will invest in the Xbox 360 for a long time and feels no pressure to offer a new machine.

While true, I am merely observing M$'s moves, from getting rid of 1st party developers, to their tactics with Windows, it all points one way.

in the end , userbase talks, ps2 has 100 million userbase , so even when sony self already stop making ps2 games. third party are still stick with it. but if ps3 can't reach that level, 10 year life span is a joke.

The PSOne was superior to the Saturn.

The PS2 was superior to the Dreamcast.

You are comparing the N64 which came out a year later, and was stronger, and the GC/Xbox which came out a year later and were stronger.

That being said, the PS's were the strongest system's IN THEIR TIME FRAME before the rivals came out a YEAR LATER.

Anyways, we are talking about M$ here, and you are going off track because you forgot about SEGA systems.

Since you don't know what you are talking about, you probably should just stay out of it.

The Saturn was better at 2D, but the PSOne blew it away in 3D performance(500,000 Polys per second).

The DC was much weaker than the PS2, however, it did do AA for free, and although at first it seemed they both were similar, games like GTA, MGS2, FFX, DMC, Balders Gate DA, Zone of the Enders, Onimusha, and more proved that false.

Besides, the DC Poly count was very low compared to PS2 (75 million), GC (6-12 realtime,but better at textures), or Xbox(Bad boy last gen.).

I disagree, the time was right this time to do that, next time they will wanna match specs and be the more powerful console. Sony is in major trouble IMHO, because once they announce a system, MS will drop in the better technology. Larabee processors or whatever the tech is at that time. Expect them to make Live better and better as well for it will be a big part of the next gens launch.

I am sure MS will launch before Sony.......But I don't see how the Xbox is used as the case example as what MS will do with the 360...

The situation is completely different this time around
