The more and more we hear about the XboneX the more it sounds like "True 4K gaming" PR is a lie.
I have no doubt that MS 1st party games will take full advantage of the XboneX but I doubt a lot of devs will go back to their older XBone games to take full advantage of 4K and framerate boosts. The problem with MS is that they've positioned this new console as a 4K gaming machine and right out of the gate we're already seeing upscaled games just like on the PS4 Pro. What exactly did lems wait an extra year for? To play indies and Minecraft in 4K lol? There are already a bunch of indie 4K native games on the Pro right now, and unlike the XboneX the Pro actually has quality AAA exclusives.
Lems won't admit it but the XboneX is a disappointment. They convinced very few people other than die-hard lems to spend $500 on the new machine. It's my biggest gripe with them this E3. Other than Forza 7 running in 4K (looked great) I saw no reason why a gamer that already owns a PS4/X1S/PS4P would wanna upgrade. Indies are not a good enough reason to upgrade for most people and neither is Crackhead 3. I think the majority of people that want 4K with no compromises will stick with high-end PCs.
Says the guy who for the last 2 years was saying Sony wouldn't release an upgraded Playstation, and went on and on about multiplats looking better on PS4 than X1...and now posts this drivel when that's unarguably no longer going to be the case. Credibility=0
Unlike the Pro, the 1X, as has been stated time and again, was designed to auto-benefit already released X1 games played on it, even without specific 1X patches/enhancements. Already there was an impressive list of major titles receiving special developer attention including WITCHER 3, a title that dev had previously said they wouldn't bother upgrading for the Pro. Many games built with dynamic resolutions such as Doom won't require dev patching to run in higher resolutions. Console is still near half a year from release, is already receiving support for older games from 3rd parties, and Xbox haters like you already want to declare with perpetuity what these devs won't ever do for the 1X, when it's already looking like they will make the effort.
I waited an extra year for a more capable 4k gaming console that doesn't 100% require dev patching to make my existing games look better, runs more games in native 4k at higher fps, and the 4k blu ray player.
You actually just argued that someone with a 1S should have no reason to upgrade...when 1X is like 5x the machine a 1S is. If someone is a console gamer and has a 4k TV 1X is the most capable gaming device. Taste in games is entirely subjective.
