Both the PS4 and XboxOne have lost their identity with most big games becoming multiplat and what few exclusives they have there are numerous alternatives on the pc platform.. This is the only gen of home consoles I truly feel like I am missing absolutely nothing by sticking solely to pc now it feels like. Nintendo from my eyes is the only system in which there are a few games with no real alternative on the pc, but I can get that through a inexpensive 2ds..

May not be that important to you but if you're a fifa ultimate team player it's very important, especially if you're a bit older like me. A lot of these players I know from my childhood, and I probably wouldn't even play this game if it wasn't for this.

But it's more than that, legends give this game a whole new dimension, you can make teams that you otherwise never could make because these legends have a special linking option , so you can make hybrid teams that you otherwise never could make without them. A lot of these legends have a certain playstyle that you can't find with other players, and with the ones that you can, there's always subtle differences.

Legends have such an impact on the game that the ps4 version feels like a nerfed game and every year it get's worse because every year new legends are added. Fifa is one of the best selling games on both platforms.

Don't forget that the xbox has exclusives that you can find on the pc but not on the ps4. IF you're a console player, it is an advantage. I for instance play besides fifa ultimate team a lot of magic duels, I don't like playing on the pc, so the xbox caters my needs.

There is the advantage of the timed exclusives as well, 2015 was quite a fun year for me, there weren't a lot of games and besides ultimate team and magic I like to play some other games as well. I played a lot of world of tanks in 2015, it released only in 2016 on the playstation and it didn't even have all the tanks at release. Elite dangerous , smite was released in 2015 as well on the xbox, and only in 2016 on the playstation.

So yeah the xbox has a lot more advantages than you think.

Don't knock Sunset Overdrive. That's actually one of Xbox's best exclusives. As far as open world infamous style games go, its locomotion is fantastic. It's a quality game through and through, and has a lot of originality style-wise as well. I think you only took a shot at it, because it's not on PS4.

IMO, Viva Pinata is still the best exclusive Microsoft has. It's a crime that the game only got a glorified expansion pack, rather than a true sequel.

No point in me trying to read this crap.

As an owner of both, I will say that Sony does have a greater quantity of exclusives that interests me, however Microsoft has the exclusive that is currently the #1 most appealing to me across all platforms. The game that I'm talking about is Sea of Thieves and I definitely think Sea of Thieves stands out as a very unique exclusive. I'm looking forward to The Last of Us 2, Days Gone, Uncharted 4 DLC, Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy, Spider-Man, and possibly God of War on the PS4, but I'm more excited about Sea of Thieves than all of these games and I think Sea of Thieves is more unique than all of the PS4 exclusives.

Cuphead is another upcoming Microsoft exclusive that looks pretty awesome and unique as well.

The Xbox One does have other advantages as well such as a better controller and online service that leads to me preferring it over my PS4 even though the PS4 has a greater quantity of exclusives that I care about.

Xbox could stand to step it up a bit. They have Halo , Gears, Forza which is great. I wouldn't know about Gears as it's not my kind of thing. They also have a couple great indies like Ori and the Blind Forrest and Super Hot which you can't get on Playstation. While I can't live without those games and bought an Xbone S for them I don't really feel like my purchase is quite justified yet. What worries me is that there isn't much on the horizon. Maybe Scalebound. It doesn't look good but it is Platinum so I remain hopeful.

The controller is the best though.

Sea of Thieves does nothing for me and I don't like online only games.

@ProtossRushX: I only just (finally) got an Xbox One. I've had a PS4 for years. It's definitely true that Xbox One has less exclusives than PS4, but what it does have are pretty special and can't be dismissed so easily.

I mean, Ori and the Blind Forest is utterly remarkable in my view. If it had been released last year, it'd probably be my game of 2016, honestly. It's utterly gorgeous, mechanically incredible, and innovative in terms of storytelling - it's the most emotional game I've played in several years now. I adore it.

Then there's Sunset Overdrive - mate, if you're calling it "Sunset What the Heck Overdrive" then I'm wondering if you've really played it. Sunset Overdrive is Jet Set Radio on steroids; and I'm a huge JSR fan.

These are only two games - my first two on Xbox One - and I already think I've made a good purchase here. I'm glad that I haven't missed out on these gems. It's sad to think that anyone will miss out on them, really.

In terms of what's coming up in the future, well, again, Xbox One clearly has less exclusives than PS4. But what's coming up does look pretty stellar: Crackdown 3, Cuphead, Sea of Thieves, Below...these are all games I'm looking forward to that immediately come to mind (though there are plenty more to add to that list).

So, you can argue that it'd be great to have more Xbox One exclusives, and that's a fair point. But I don't think anyone can argue that Xbox One isn't a worthwhile platform based on its exclusives. I mean, even if the quantity isn't there, the quality certainly is. You only have to look. :-)

@djura: I'm also a new Xbone owner and i've been on the fence about Sunset Overdrive. I liked Jet Set Radio on the Dreamcast but wasn't overwhelmingly into it. The videos I've watched didn't quite get there for me. Do you think it's a better game than what it looks like judged by my limited views of videos on youtube?

I have to admit, it's hard for videos to convey how the game feels, and I think this is true for many games. What I'd say is, if you generally liked JSR on the Dreamcast and if you like the visual style of Sunset Overdrive, then definitely give it a go (is there a demo on the store? If so, maybe give that a shot first).

The thing with Sunset Overdrive is that its gameplay systems are slightly deeper than they first appear. The mechanics are individually simple, but they layer on top of one another over time in a gradual ramp up, and you get to the point where you're virtually flying around the city and it feels wonderful. They nailed the controls, too, which I think is very important - movement feels very tight and comfortable, and I think that is a huge part of what makes the gameplay feel good.

Also, the humour...it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I found that it's grown on me a lot. The characters routinely break the fourth wall, and there's a lot of self-referential stuff in there, a lot of which is actually quite clever. I found it refreshing rather than try-hard, but I can see how it might irk some.

So, anyway...if you can grab a demo, then definitely try it out. It was one game I deliberately bought the Xbox One for; I knew I wanted to play it, and I bought it with the Xbox One. I have zero regrets; it's such a little gem, and such a refreshing experience in an age of dark, grimy shooters and stuff. Even the fact that the world is so incredibly bright and vivid - the colour palette is nuts, and I love it.

Very highly recommended from me. :D

@djura: I appreciate your thoughtful response. I think I will end up playing it at some point if I run out of things to play. That's a big "if" though. If there is a demo I will seek it out and that will be the deciding factor for me. I would probably like it, I'm just not sure how much. I want to get more value out of my Xbone. I don't regret buying it though.

Elite Dangerous releases for PlayStation 4 in the second quarter of 2017. I haven't decided if I'll get it for Xbone or PS4. The superior PS4 multiplat thing has me waiting right now.

Nah. Exclusives are dumb. They should stand out in ways that matter. Like better performance, customization, and consumer friendliness. Let's start with the ability to use Scorpio like a normal computer if desired, and finish with bringing back the free Xbox Live subscription without the free games and other bullshit.
