"The Microsoft executive said that, although the PS3 might be more powerful, customers still took into consideration the price tag, and that's where the Xbox 360 had the upper hand, a fact which he was confident that would reflect in the sales during the December month."
another fanboyish post.OP didn't read the article i'm guessing or perhaps is just trying to flamebait.
THe article says nothing of Microsoft admitting anything.
Of course the PS3 consumes more power.
You see what I did there, I'm pretty sure the author of that article did the same.
Power is just potential without the appropriate softwares which sony fails at making in comparison to the people of microsoft...
What the MS Exec actually said:
[QUOTE="Microsoft"]
"First, I would say we absolutely would not want to trade places with Sony," Greenberg said. "We feel like being half the price of the PS3 served us quite well this holiday. The fact that we're doing this at half the price of their platform, we feel confident that we're delivering great value. I believe that we deliver more value for games and entertainment than any other platform on the market. At the end of the day, consumers vote with their dollar, I don't think people take comparison grids into retail stores. I would rather talk about why you should buy our console than why you shouldn't buy the competitor's system," the Microsoft executive concluded.

I donno how the article writer managed to get "more powerful" out of that, but oh well.
Notice how the cows completly ignore the truth to act like anything anti 360 is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? Gotta love em...
The PS3 is more powerful? I was never aware of that  No, really, this is news to nobody, regardless of how unreliable of a source this is.Skittles_McGee
its news to guys like John Carmack, who emphatically says the 360 is more powerful.
but of course, if Cows believed john carmack, than the only thing they have is blu ray as a talking point to justify thier console purchase.

Pretty much. Notice how no one here is even trying to refute this? Just because that is all that was quoted, it doesn't mean that was all Greenberg said. Reporters do this all the time by reporting a story, giving the context and an excerpt from all that was said. It basically boils down to the validity of the source and whether you think they portrayed the news properly and accurately.[QUOTE="The_Game21x"]Pretty much. I think had Microsoft PR dude said the PS3 was more powerful, more then one news source would be jumping all over that.

Are we now accepting things someone may have said into evidence? :?
If power mattered so much then Gamecube and Xbox would have been the top choices of last gen for both developers and consumers.ParasomniacGame..cube.. ?

No. I'm just saying that lack of a direct quote does not mean it definitely didn't happen. I really don't know how credible softpedia is, so I can't say one way or the other if it is a valid interpretation.wow i didnt know lemmings would go crazy over the news. we all know the supior console is the ps3 and faulty console is the 360. but its not the end of the world lemmings. spike6566lol. Is all you do make up BS all day? The ones making this a big deal is cows, like you and greengoblin.
Good news for the PS3 we all know the most powerful console always has the best games like the Xbox did...umm, err, no not that one i meant how the 3DO was best...oh wait not it either, wait a sec Ill come up with one in a second...the Neo-Geo? no? Intellivision??? no again??? Genesis??? Phillips CD-I??? Colecovision??? Dreamcast??? no no no and no? ok, come on there has to be at least one right?
[QUOTE="GreenGoblin2099"][QUOTE="blue_hazy_basic"] Either he didn't read the article and looked daft and is trying to cover it up by laughing at other people, or even worse, he was trolling and trying to antagonise people, either way its probably best if he didn't continue to post in the thread.The_Game21x
You're right, I didn't read the article. You see, if I cared I would've done so, but I just read what the OP said and take it as the quote he was talking about. In any case the trolling would've come from his part, not mine.
And why don't you just stop posting here instead?? I said lemmings after all, you feel insulted for that maybe there's a reason behind that ;)
See how I laugh???
That's all you needed to say.
So, basically what you're saying is, you're trying to bash Xbox 360 fans based on an assumption and misinformation on the part of both yourself and the topic creator. Good job. :)

You missed the "might" word, he never said that is more powerfull

Riverwolf007
Actually 360 is more powerfull, because it has vast open world next gen games, something PS3 totally lacks, 360 has Alan Wake, Fable 2, Divinity 2, Two Worlds Temptation, Venetica, KUF2: Dominion etc etc that PS3 can't touch with its small world last gen designed offerings like MGS4, LBP, Killzone 2, Heavy Rain etc. Those titles are on rails, and all have tiny linear levels, how last gen is that now ?
[QUOTE="Parasomniac"]If power mattered so much then Gamecube and Xbox would have been the top choices of last gen for both developers and consumers.GodofBigMacsGame..cube.. ? :lol:the game cube actually had way higher specs than the ps2, if you have a copy of the guiness book of records gamers edition, it lists all the specs for consoles from the ps1 onwards.the gamecube was halfway between the ps2 and the xbox in specs.
That wasn't a quote of the MS executive. Just assumption by the editor. Also, OLD.Master-Thief-09so is the usual "the PS3 is too expensive", or "PS3 has no games" those claims are false but I hear them from 360 fans all the time....
[QUOTE="Parasomniac"]If power mattered so much then Gamecube and Xbox would have been the top choices of last gen for both developers and consumers.GodofBigMacsGame..cube.. ? The Gamecube had better graphics than the ps2 what are making fun of?
1) well duh...
2) MS is right tbh, they went for a cheaper console and in a time where money saving is more important, thats the better marketing choice...

I thought people already knew this.
Too bad for the Sony sheeple it doesnt show![QUOTE="spinecaton"][QUOTE="GreenGoblin2099"]So what do lemmings say about this?? let's find out :lol:GreenGoblin2099
We say that there is no direct quote from a Microsoft executive, just an fanboyish article writer who put things into his own words.
Expected a bit better
did you read the whole article? notice how it's not a direct quote?I'm sorry but I'm not seeing that at all in the DIRECT quote from Greenburg. Could you please show me exactly where he said these words and where it's not an assumption by the writer of the article please?http://news.softpedia.com/news/Microsoft-Replies-To-Sony-In-Regard-To-PlayStation-3-vs-Xbox-360-101793.shtml

did you read the whole article? notice how it's not a direct quote? cows can't read, didn't you know that? They can ONLY listen to what their leaders say and then believe it as truth.Honestly, i have nothing against the PS3, i think it's a great system but it being more powerful is debateable, only time will tell as far as that argument is concerned, and from my point of view Sony is running out of time to win that argument.
In my opinion, the only reason why I think Sony is losing this war is because of Sony's shallow attempts at trying to sell the system. The pricetag is obviously a big problem, especially with the current economy problems. But another big reason Sony is losing because they lost a lot of their exclusive games. GTA is no long exclusive to Sony, Resident Evil and Silent Hill are no longer exclusive and the way it looks Metal Gear Solid might be going to 360 in the near future (rumored but I wouldn't doubt it). If Sony had managed to keep games like GTA under their wing, and considering GTA's massive popularity, GTA 4 could have been a great moment for the PS3 in terms of its sales. But with almost all the games going to the PS3 and 360 and the 360 being around longer, the PS3 doesn't stand a chance at this point.
