[QUOTE="Zhengi"][QUOTE="Giancar"] How much did the last MK game sold on the wii? Not much I assure you. Midway simply put was one of the worst developers out there, and they finally hit the bottom.
A lot of other developers are still working with "HD" ( which is more graphics, physiscs, sound, AI and some other things)
DR2 just got recently announced, and that game will do awesome. I'll guarantee that

The thing with developing for the Wii is that the costs are lower. Even if a game bombs, it will not put a company out of business. Look at MK vs DC. That's Midway's biggest game of the holiday season and it was a relative success with 2 million shipped, and they're still filing for bankruptcy. So what is supposed to be a success causes a company to go into bankruptcy? How does that work?
As for Capcom, they're different from Midway because they have done what I said. They have diversifed their game projects. They're not only concentrating on the HD consoles, but they are also putting quality games like Monster Hunter on the Wii and PSP, Mega Man and Phoenix Wright on the DS, Spyborgs on the Wii, and a host of other games for other systems. See the difference?
How much did they pay for the engine? what other cost non relately with MK have? or at least that you can "divide" by multiple projects? Heck they did a MK for the wii, and was bad, and sold bad. Because Midway is a bad developer, those kind of developers deserve that fate. How they can sustain with one main mediocre game every 2 years? Yeah, and Capcom is putting DR:CTYD game. One of the worst ports ever made. Why? Because the expect people to buy those. At least I respect capcom because they are not only doing quick cash ports. They are doing "HD" games like SF4, Re5, BC, DR2 because they care about their consumers tooWhat about EA? Their games in Mirror's Edge and Dead Space flopped badly in sales, and EA is closing down studios. In fact, even last gen, there weren't as many devs closing studios as there are this gen. Costs have skyrocketed and many are losing money. Even Activision Blizzard, the one dev that is doing the best in the US, lost money, but this is mostly due to accounting methods. It's just a dangerous time right now in this economic environment.
And I don't understand how Capcom putting DR:CTYD on the Wii negates anything I wrote about. They have diversified their game projects on other systems and are doing great. Nothing you said has really disputed that. I'm not saying stop making games on the HD platforms. So really, what are you trying to argue?
