[QUOTE="locopatho"]Wii Sports and Wii Play absolutely count. I see Resistence and MotorstormPS3 bundles the whole time, and my 360 came with Halo 3, PGR3 and Forza 2 bundled. Forza even has "BUNDLE COPY" across the case. So what? Bundling games is a great way to sell them.PhoebusFlows
Well, you can count them. I won't. That's insulting to a game like Gears of War or Oblivion which took years to develop. And some little Wii Play comes along and tries to occupy the same seat as those games? lol
Motorstorm, Halo 3 and those games you mentioned are still full retail games first and foremost. They are not quite the same as Wii Sports and Wii Play. And in the end, so what? Even if I included Wii Play and Wii Sports, look at the Nintendo list. You can clearly see which company is dominating software sales, which company has better diversity of games, and which company needs to work on it. It doesn't matter if Xbox 360 had one year with no competition, people will buy games whether there is competition or not. Bioshock and Halo 3 sold despite having a TON of competition during their release, so that excuse doesn't really fly.
And (this isn't directed towards you, I'm sort of addressing other people in this post) I could just as easily say the Wii has more advantages, like games that are $10 cheaper, and a $250 system that is way cheaper than $400. And RE4 was a budget title, so is Zack and Wiki. Why didn't they sell even more, when Halo 3 has a $120 Legendary Pack that still outsells them both combined!
My point is, the Xbox 360 has a lot of momentum right now. No one, even the most hostile Nintendo or Sony enemy, can deny that. Xbox 360 just rules.
360 rules if you are almost exclusively in love with shooters. You are very disillusioned on what people like. Save a few games 360 is an attempt at what PCs do ten times better. SO how does it rule? When it is so genre specific.
People are buying these games more because they are good and plain fun. It has very little bearing on how long it takes them to make it or how much advertising you use. Halo will sell because its Halo, do you know how big their advertisement was? If nintendo wanted to shove all their games in our face every second they would have done it along time ago, though admittedly SMG should be advertised more.
The Wii is good because its good, not because its cheap. the GC was cheap and people ignored it, the Xbox was expensive and people ignored it. You keep jumping around the issue because you dont want to face the fact that Wii is really good and it has alot of good selling games.
