[QUOTE="tonitorsi"][QUOTE="jg4xchamp"]It looks improved over inFAMOUS to say the least(which is a game I like). So I guess I'll get to what's bugging me -I don't like how scripted that looks. Not that the original wasn't scripted, but I was hoping it for the missions to not be so formulaic so much. -I don't like that it's still playing like a shooter, except you replaced guns with electricity. Like the car throwing power was cool, and the combination stuff looks interesting, but what else? Lets go bigger and broader with those powers. -It seems pretty good looking for a sandbox game. Which concerns me. If they upped the ante on graphics than what did they pull back on? I assume a sacrifice was made somewhere. jg4xchamp
I agree.
Cole's powers seem limted. If you were to put Alex Mercer and him in a fight, Alex most likely beats him easily. And in general, Alex powers are not just his shapashifting, but its connected all throughout his body.
Cole is just a man with electrocity. No superstrength, no hulk-jumping, not thermal vision, no agility, speed, invulnerability, etc.
Unlike Alex, Cole takes massive damage from bullets and will not survive a nuclear explosion like Alex did.......guy can't even tough water. SuckerPunch needs to expand his powers and make him do abnormal changes than just shooting out electricity. They said they wanted to make him a "Super-Super heroe" but so far he is just a guy that shoots blue sparks and is vulnerable to just about anything.
eh I don't necessarily need him to go the Alex Mercer route, that would be over doing it. I just want something more to his powers that doesn't feel like "Ok this is basically a shooter except in stead of bullets you have ELECTRICITY, instead of grenades you have electrical bombs, instead of a rocket launcher, you have electric rocket powers!!!". Basically make it less shooter, more super power, but you don't have to Prototype it :PYea that comparison isn't doing it for ya, u hating man :P
The Prototype comparison wasn't that bad if you ignore the powers of both, but focus on what Radical did. Alex didn't shoot out anything. Everything was centralized with the capabilities of his physical body. Alex himself IS his own power...rather than Cole AND electricity.
But I get your point. Though, it'd be pretty challenging for Sucker Punch to come out with something different. It DOES have that TPS/FPS feel to it. So hopefully SP does something about it.
Maybe some Doom approach mixed with The Force Unleash might do the trick.
