I think the guy needs to he replaced. Wasn't Nintendo preaching about satisfying all kinds of gamers? Yet from the cube till now its been heavily focused around kids with NO change in sight. Hilarious how games like Metroid, etc are left on the back burner for rehashes mentioned. soapandbubbles
Yeah Nintendo need replace him and hire some guy that can pump out some more CoD-clones, jumping around on muschrooms is not what people want to play
Well for a new set of consoles coming out the games really weren't impressive. Only problem with Miyamoto saying this is that Nintendos games weren't show stoppers either. I dont think I have ever been this underwhelmed with the announcement of a main series Mario game.
Miyamoto shouldn't criticize, he is catering to an audience with his stuff, other developers with theirs. He probably feels threatened with the way Nintendo WiiU is doing, go 3rd party and expand your audience Nintendo.
Well I wasn't impressed by any Wii U games but I was the PS4,MGSV and Beyond Two Souls.
I think Nintendo need an overhaul and the first thing to go is the Wii U and Reggie I can't stand the guy.

Sales and popularity show otherwise....punk. Just cause its against the majority doesnt make it better. Nintendo need to get over the nastalgia they feel and accept their fate as a software company only. Besides whats nintendo actually offering that hasnt been beat to death for 20 years cough mario? All this innovation talk and barely any software ( which what counts ) to back it up. Happening since the cube days get someone else in f'en charge![QUOTE="Minishdriveby"]It was a disappointing e3, software wise, on all fronts.Maroxad
I wouldnt say it was disappointing, but yeah, softwarewise it was kinda bleugh.
Its still early to have the giants show much, main focus was hardware ans people were satisfied, well maybe not with ms conference. Hence the use of dev kits and pc's to demo the games.I think the guy needs to he replaced. Wasn't Nintendo preaching about satisfying all kinds of gamers? Hence the use of dev kits and pc's to demo the games. It may have been primarily about hardware, but that doesnt change a damn thing about the fact that the games shown on this E3 were uninteresting to me as hell.
Edit Also, didnt MS say it was primarily about games this time, and wasnt like 75% of the Sony conference about games? Outside of Square Enix stuff, MGS5 and The Witcher, none of it looked like anything I would play. And even then The Square Enix stuff is very iffy.
It wasn't an underwhelming E3, but there were no massive announcements either, so I can see where he's coming from khoofia_pika
I agree that it wasnt underwhelming. It was certainly better than the past few E3s that much is for certain.
Gameswise, I didnt care for many games though, Nintendo showed me the most games I cared about, but outside of Donkey Kong and Super Mario 3D World, I already knew about them all.
The biggest thing I learned from this E3 was 400 dollars and the fact that Sony now charges for online, which means I am somehow even less tempted to get their console than I was before.
I actually agree with him, nothing really impressed me except the look of games, but for the most part their are alot of shooters this time around, didn't see much in the form of new idea's except about 3/4 the rest were what we've been getting for the last couple of years.
Hearing none of the games are something he would care to make is a good thing to me. He doesn't make anything I like.AmazonTreeBoa
Well, I deff. respect Miyamoto as a game designer and what he did for the industry, still, to not be impressed by MGS V means that one simply has no appreciation for technical progress and mature themes in video games. ;)
And while I can understand his concern that the game market today is flooded with violent games, he also seems to treat gamers as childern, still.
When it fact the average gamer is an younger adult today.
Ratings exist for a reason and it's the parent's concern to prevent there children from playing violent games.
If there's not enough family-oriented games out there is another matter.
Did you guys know, That Grand Theft Auto was first orginally going to be made for NINTENDO, but when nintendo saw what the game was about, they said they wanted no part of it!.. So grand theft auto got released for the PC instead, and after 1 game it got onto playstation 1 with GTA 2...

All I know is that they were planning a "GTA64" which would be like GTA on the PS. (i.e. top-down)
Rockstar (or DMA back then) left Nintendo's systems because they had a much bigger audience on other systems.
Also, Nintendo don't censor 3rd party games since, like, the SNES times.
It's entirely up to 3rd parties to manage their content. (only banned games are adult-rated ones but those are absent from Sony's and MS' platforms too)
Your post just sounds like another whiny "I don't like teh kiddy games, wah wah" comment. (altho I agree that Nintendo could put some more effort into getting some appealing M-rated games)
But last year he was impressed with Soundshapes on the Vita.At least it is not as bad as last year's.

DMA Design made Body Harvest on N64 was fvcking awesome and for it's time quite brutal.Miyamoto isn't a gamer. His job is to make them, but he doesn't play them much. I'm not surprised he doesnt care about non Nintendo games.locopathoIn past E3s he was impressed with Skate, Killzone 2, and Sound Shapes two of which are from Sony's first party developers and Skate was the PS3 or Xbox 360 version.
But last year he was impressed with Soundshapes on the Vita.[QUOTE="PsychoLemons"]

To him, in his opinion.
But overall, not so much.
