ok sounds like hes not really dissing it. just saying he could develop a Mature rated game like halo. although i honestly think it wouldnt be the same. japanese culture is way to different from american.
So could I. :)
Anyway I like the fact that he says he creates games that he wants to and not what caters to specific audiences. Â
One time, I made Metal Gear Solid. It was awesome.lockjaw333
Then you ****** it up by going way too over the top with MGS2 and MGS3. :evil:Â

My bad, son. I'll just make some other insanely popular, record-selling game with a record number of online matches played. I mean, it can't be that hard right? Gimme like, a week. You obviously don't know Miyamoto, I read the link and what he basically said was he as a game designer could make a game that has little innovation but isa perfected version of something that everyone already likes (Halo), but he prefers to imagine and create new experiences. That's not arrogance, that's his philosophy on games, keep it fresh instead of rehashing and perfecting the same formula.camzaman
you nailed it buddy

Yet look at all the Zelda's and Mario's he's a hypocrite.Â

He did. It's called Twilight Princess. They catered the development of that game to Western Audiences (read: whiny nerds that loved Ocarina of Time but hated Wind Waker).

I'd say he needs to realize that all games are different and just because he rehashes mario 8 times per console, doesn't make him god.SkyRaidHe doesn't make those Mario's he only makes the Platformers which is only made once a Gen, and the other Mario games are made by 2nd and 3rd Parties.except for Paper Mario, and Mario Kart.
He could, but he didnt.
I'm sure Master Chief would've been replaced by Princess Peach. She would have shot out flowers from her parasol the convenant would be replaced by turtles and goomba's.

Miyamoto could make anything the best game ever......in the videogame world...he is a god
He could destroy Halo (even though Halo is sweet) because he is amazing like that

Keep it fresh? You mean by making another Mario game?
Â
Each new Mario (the main adventures) and Zelda have attempted new ways of being unique and fresh. Mario 64 introduced 3-D to much success. Mario Sunshine tried with the Water-pack gameplay element but couldn't escape from the feeling that we had already seen a 3-D Mario. And now Mario Galaxy is introducing new elements with the Wii-mote and new level designs with the planet to planet hopping.
Zelda:OofT was amazing, no explanation necessary. Wind Waker used cel-shading and introduced the sailing elemnt (although too much of it). And Twilight Princesstried tried something new with the wolf transformations, but it really was something for the fans in it's Ocarina of Time roots.
So to sit there and say these series have failed in attempting to strecth and bring something new each time is ignorant.Â

Actually he talks about Halo being a rehashed series, when there's only 4 in existence (only 2 of which currently out and one being an RTS).
So what about SMB, SMB2, SMB3, SMW, Yoshi's Island and Mario Land. Now he's rehashing in 3D, he really has no room to talk.

What you say is true.
But sometimes they over look the importance  of creating different characters, worlds, and story lines into these new gameplay elements to make it feel like a fresh new games. Okami does nothing we haven't seen in a Zelda game. Why did it outscore Twilight Princess? Because it wasn't link, hyrule, and Gannon thats why. I think this is what most people are talking about. Nintendo fanboys may never tire of seeing mario, link, and samus. But some of us do.
Â
You forgot Majora's Mask which refined the Mask system and it also did the 3 day Timeline with the Moon about to crash into Termina (I think that is what it is called.)Each new Mario (the main adventures) and Zelda have attempted new ways of being unique and fresh. but the Japanese like OOT better also. I think he didn't mention appealing to Japanese. He does it for himself.Â
[QUOTE="Nintendo_Ownes7"]the 3 day Timeline with the Moon about to crash into Termina Felous1
Which sucked.Â
I hate time limits in adventure games...
Time limits are great. They create a greater sense of urgency. Their were certain parts of Dead Rising that had me almost falling out of my seat. I loved it.

Oh yeah, good call, I think I forgot it b/c I never got around to playing it. I think I had moved on to the Dreamcast at that point. I can't wait until it's available on the VC. But Majoras Mask definitely adds to the argument and is arguably the most unique Zelda game in the series. Â

Pikmin 1 and 2 ring a bell? Half of Marios are made by other people. Camelot, Int. Software, and SE all have made a mario game. His last one was on DS, that is it. He has made 8 Mario games total, and working on the 9th one. Also, portable Zeldas has been mostly made by Capcom, Miyamoto only made 8 Zeldas.
Insomniac and Naughty Dog both have about 6-8 games under belt, how is Miyamoto more of a hypocrit than them?Â
