Another foolish statement by you, yet not as foolish as your last, as the 32x and cd did tarnish sega's reputation, but you really must realise that the final nails in the coffin were mainly due to Sega's financial issues and saturn, which were connected.[QUOTE="falconclan"][QUOTE="web966"][QUOTE="falconclan"][QUOTE="web966"][QUOTE="DisPimpin"][QUOTE="web966"][QUOTE="DisPimpin"][QUOTE="web966"][QUOTE="DisPimpin"][QUOTE="web966"]Miyamoto is way more important than kutaragi or moore will ever be.web966Really? I would give miyamoto a very deep bow, tell him he is a gaming god, and ask for a picture with him. Then I would ask him if he had time to talk and hopefully have a conversation with him.
I would bow to kutaragi tell him the PS2 is cool and go about my way.
I would shake moores hand and tell him my 360 still works and its awesome.

Sigh... You don't get it. People eventually built up off of Miyamoto's vision for gaming. They built off of the concept of freely moving around and beating enemies, and made it to evolve into more complex games. Gears of War, Half-Life 2, Metal Gear Solid, and Halo; these games would never had existed if it were not for Nintendo and Miyamoto. Peter Moore, Ken Kutagari, David Jaffee, Hideo Kojima, Nobuo Uematsu; these people would be unemployed or have totally different careers if Miyamoto never made Super Mario Bros. He made an action game more complex; he provided an example to future video-game makers. We all owe him for what he did.[QUOTE="web966"][QUOTE="falconclan"][QUOTE="web966"][QUOTE="falconclan"][QUOTE="web966"][QUOTE="DisPimpin"][QUOTE="web966"][QUOTE="DisPimpin"][QUOTE="web966"][QUOTE="DisPimpin"][QUOTE="web966"]Miyamoto is way more important than kutaragi or moore will ever be.falconclanReally? Gaming may have very well died at the rate Ninty was going with the N64. I'm not sure how old you are but the industry was a mess around the time the PS1 came out. Several companies trying to cash in, overcrowding, and not really putting quality product out, just like in the early 80's. Devs were pissed at Nintendo for their shady business practices and still using cartridges, hence they went to Sony. PS1 saved gaming as much as the NES did, or did you forget about those Panasonic Zelda games? Dig a little deeper before sucking Miyamoto so hard next time.

edit. No one ever bought the Panasonic system. And if the gaming industry was doing so badly ad about to crash why didnt the N64 fail? Would you call the 5th best selling console ever a failure? not only that the saturn went to CDs and still bombed.

Sorry to bust up the party kids but Miyamoto's vision is not to deny the creation of M rated video games, online play and something as futile and idiotic as the medium on which games are essentially printed. Miyamoto does not like M rated games as a PREFERENCE, he prefers not to make them. He doesnt need to exploit as something as simple minded as visceral violence to make his games entertaining; he has creativity, innovation and intelligence on his side. And it works. Both Miyamoto and Kutaragi have had huge creative effects on the industry, Moore is just an exec. He wasn't even at Microsoft when all the major decisions conserning the direction of the original Xbox were meade.
Â
This basically comes down to which you see as being more influential. Myamoto's games or Kutaragi's Hardware. Â

If you were going to have a Microsft exec it should be J. Alllard as he is the man who convinced MS to enter the race for themselves (and not just buy someone else). He is the lead designer of the Xbox, Xbox 360, Live and All of MS development tools.
