Mobile and PC online gaming to dominate consoles

Free to play low budgeted MMO games that can be played on 90's PC :Lmao

PC, China, Korea or whatever can keep those. I don't want to ever see them on any PS flagship console.

May as well call Moblie the king of gaming since candy crush/Angry birds sell billions; way more than LOL/WOW.

PC is irreverent in the AAA market aka the one that matters that is why the big developers priorities console and the PS4 keep breaking records.

You wrote a whole essay about the socializing aspects of MMOs yet mmos like LOL have a reputation of having the biggest basement dwellers and social rejects. That post just reeks insecurity.

The fact that you talk about socializing through pixels says it all. Socialize is about going outside and interacting with people in the real world, not stay in the basement for 12 hours :lol.

This is why MMOs have that stigma.

1. PC gets a significant majority of AAA games, and runs them better than your toy does.

2. PC has the most overall AAA titles due to "console exclusives". These are games Sony and MS give to PC, but don't share to each other. Like nearly every XB1X exclusive also appears on PC, but not PS4. PC's non indy library dwarfs PS4s. Your argument is based off of fiction.

3. Not all MMO or F2P are low budget. This is a fallacy.

4. Budget isn't everything. Not everyone wants to play a 6 hour long movie game. The most popular and competitive titles don't have AAA graphics.

I play on my iPad sometimes, but I don't have a decent rig for PC gaming yet. I used to say I dislike PC gaming, but in reality, I'm just SUPER jealous. I think this scenario of PC and Mobile gaming taking over the industry is entirely possible.

Looks like a Xianxia style Devil May Cry. I'll be following this game with an intense gaze.

Do you know BIC Fest ? It's an indie game festival in Korea. They also show indie games in BitSummit (Japan's Indie Expo).

The language barrier means we only see a fraction of what's out there and the current gatekeepers simply aren't very good at what they do.

This still looks and sounds promising, though also hella ambitious for a small team based in South Korea. It has been a long time since the Kickstarter, but I'm glad that it seems to be developing nicely.

@kozio: I've never heard of BIC Fest or BitSummit. Makes sense that most games will go under the radar due to language barrier even at much more popular events such as Chinajoy, GSTAR, and Tokyo Game Show usually only the most popular and interesting looking games and companies get coverage/translation into Western media. I tried searching for Korean indie games and couldn't find anything. I completely forgot about Little Devil Inside and had no idea it was a Korean game. I hope more Korean indie/standalone games of that caliber start to pop up.

Cool I didn't know that Assault Spy is being made by an ex-DMC devleoper will definitely keep an eye on it.

Here is another Chinese action RPG I found called The Wind Road. I get some Resident Evil 5 vibes from the atmosphere due to how gritty it looks along with the UI and traps in the game. The combat seems like a faster pace version of The Witcher 2/3s sword combat along with some fantasy martial arts added to it and a bit of Souls seeing as how the player seems to die in a few hits from enemies if they don't block or dodge.

Swordsman X looks pretty good graphically despite how early it is in development. Out of all the battle royale games coming out this one stands out the most as it seperates itself with medieval combat.

Also not sure if you already know about Lost Soul Aside buts its another Chinese action game, Sony is publishing it as a timed exclusive though which kinda sucks.

I really hope some of these games get localized.

Sony didn't fund it, they got funding from a Chinese company/guy. I believe it's up to 9 people team now.

I will clarify that China Hero Project isn't a publishing program, more so a marketing program to help get these games exposure and some additional resources.

If/when this gets a wide release, I wonder who is going to publish it. Seems like something Aksys, Xseed or NIS would try to snatch up (assuming someone larger doesn't try to get it).

Lol when I go to Walmart or. GameStop I can't even find the pc game section well Walmarts is very small and GameStop stopped carrying pc game

PC and Mobile domination continue! Consoles are just watching the show.

Because PC gaming isn't stuck holding onto past technologies like slow optical drives. We don't need brick and mortar game stores. Don't worry though console gamers will catch up with the modern world eventually.

@kozio: I did some more research and you're right Sony didn't fund it, they just showed the game to an investor and got them to do it, I guess the timed exclusivity is just a "I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine" kind of thing

A lot of gamers think there's something inherently anti-consumer about digital downloads. Even if there is, there's nothing more anti consumer than a games store selling used copies of games. If they're not convincing you to buy shitty games then they aren't going to be in business long.
