Modern Warfare 2 is NOT a rehash!

My friend let me borrow his game for a day, I played the campaign, eh. Less story more explody. Kind of fun though. But who plays Cod for single player. Now after about an hour of single player, i was done :P (Joke)

Then I dove into the multiplayer, 15 levels in and I was IN LOVE. No rehash. This game puts so much new stuff in, so many new guns, now a sequel if OBVIOUSLY going to play very similar to the last game, and no it doesn't HAVE to do anything super innovative, games rarely do. One game does and then others copy, thats how it works. But theres SO MUCH, new content and I already know IW will be pumping out DLC so im pumped for when i get it. Ill be taking my Halo 3 back Q_Q and my NFS shift to get the discount. Great game imo. Also cant wait for Bad Company 2, looks even better, sadly im a 360 guy myself so i dont have the beta, how is it?

AND PLEASE, NO "Cool Story Bro, Blog it." Because your just that guy if you do that.

Hey I just got the game for SP to play that one level airport scene and play some special ops with my g/f. I don't play mp so that part of the game doesn't interest me at all. I got a good deal on the game $48 plus $20 towards a future purchase so I feel it was money well spent.

I'd say TBOGT DLC contained more quanitity and quality content than MW2

4 hour campaign, no real graphical upgrade, lots of new weapons? no? a select few. lots of pointless little aesthetic unlocks. Sorry, reality hits hard, alot more PC Expansions posses as much content if not more than MW2 from CoD4.Birdy09

all these MW2 haters on here...MW2 is going 2 stay in my ps3 for a loooonnng time.

Only problem I have with the game is all the damn snipers and campers. Half of the maps benefit snipers, granted you learn how to get around them, the maps aren't all that great.

So to keep me interested I'll definetly have to get the map pack whenever it's released.

One of the things I do like though are the guns, and the fact that grenades aren't as powerful as Call of duty 4. It's definetly not even close to a frag fest.

The graphics aren't that impressive though. Didn't they use a new engine? I mean, they sure could of fooled me, it does not look THAT much better.

Great game though and it does deserve the score it recieved.

All sequals are rehashes in certain ways. If a developer rehashes a great game, that new game is still going to be great, whether people want to admit it or not.

Multiplayer caters to noobs, campers, and idiots.

Campaign is fun though, if you like blockbuster type films. It's an acceptable length if you play on Hardened/Veteran mode.

I only played the sp and I though it was a rehash. Missions were more open-ended though (not on crysis level, but you had more space to move, it was cool), but the infiltration part in the snow (including the snowmobile part), the map with Burger King and Taco to go and the airports part were all ridiculous (ok the predator missile part was really cool though). The latter added almost nothing to the story, it was just a waste of time and I had no fun to walk like a turtle and shoot peoples with the same faces and cloths. Rehash doesn't mean that the game is bad or not fun, but after playing 5 cod games, I am getting tired of the formula and that normal.

I thought the graphics could have improved, although that that's not that big of a let down. What really sucked about the game is that story mode could be finished in a single sitting. I mean, the voice acting, cinematics, and story line were amazing, but I thought that paying $60 for not even an afternoons worth of story content was a bit much. Online wasn't really upgraded that much either... Wow, $60 for new maps... To me, it felt like it should have been a $15 DLC offeringa few more hours to the story anda handfull of new online maps, but that's only my opinion.Don't get me wrong, it's still an amazing game... If youONLY want to play online.

The series has been a rehash since CoD 2 anyway. But CoD 4, WaW, and MW 2 are all solid games.mo0ksi

Ironically most COD fans complain that Halo is a rehash than vice versa...at least in these forums.

They just added a new bit of texturing. The texturing does look better, but the actual graphical engine and polycount is pretty much the same.

6 hr on easy(not even counting hard or veteran), improved graphics, some new weapons, great unlocks makes this game great(well on a console anyway)

So wait...let me get this straight. The actual story mode wasn't anything spectacular, the so many new guns you talk about are 4 new guns, it plays very similar to it's predecessor to the point it is almost identical, it doesn't have anything new or innovative. And yet...you want me to believe it isn't a rehash? From what it sounds like and what I had been hearing it is the exact same game as the other just with a 2 on it. This couldn't have been an expansion for an already existing game? They couldn't have added those 4 weapons into the other already existing game which from what you said is pretty much the same?

Quite honestly everything you did describe is exactly what it means to be a re-hash. The exact same thing just printed on a new disk. I think it is all people being drones to the hype they hear. It isn't anything amazing or extraordinary, Call of Duty is the Madden of war games. Every year it is a new addition that doesn't ADD anything, yet a ton of casual's pick it up and think it makes them cool in Middle/High School to talk about it. Everyone else just gets drowned out by their prepubescent moaning and the hype gets even bigger.

*Now sits and waits for these same people to attempt to justify their mindless zombie purchase.*

Except for all the new stuff they added, the noticably better graphics (IMO) I like the way the depth of field looks. Its pretty yummy, and the guns feel better to shoot.

You are right TC it's not a rehash, it's a port.

Over-hyped, short but good single player, same game as before.

I actually enjoy COD4 more.
