I can understand your point and why others see it as a rehash both sides can have a perspective. Won't be picking this up anyway because:

1.60$ for the PC version

2.A delay for the PC version

3.Not too fond of COD or fps for that matter

4.I'm boycotting Craptivision

You're actually asking why MW2 is being regarded as casual friendly TC? The answer is simple: It's a sequel to a casual friendly game.

COD4 was a Noob's paradise; Martyrdom, Last stand, Noobtubes, and your own personal aimbot that's the chopper basically give you free kills, that's ofc not counting the excessive amount of campers in this game but thats ok, almost every game has campers (though not as much really) so i'm gonna let this one slide.

Now MW2 comes along and adds Death Streaks to the formula................Death Streaks.........yyeaahh this won't be noob friendly at all, it's not like the game is rewarding you for sucking...oh wait!

I only hate on new copies of the US PC version and the UK edition. If you buy those you're a certifiable flaming moron.

The thing I'm most excited about is its action movie aspirations. I'm happy to see that Infinity Ward are afficionados of movies like Die Hard 2 and The Rock. Because those are awesome.

The second thing I'm most excited about is actually the storytelling. I'm not expecting a masterpiece here, but since they're going to Washington I'm expecting it to be fairly compelling in how it'll draw from the whole invasion/patriotism theme to make it more personal and involved. Giving the whole thing a better drive, a kick in the ass to basically not just have the player zombie around between scripted action sequences, but wanting to push on, making you give a decently sized ****.

I can't wait for MW2! I love how the game is supposedly noobified, but if it is so easy that just means it is accessible and that is not a bad thing. The game is very well balanced. I tend to think those that hate it for being so easy, do so under the premise that they are really good it is just that the game is "easy for noobs"...That's why they die so much is the noobs are getting lucky airstikes...:lol:

COD is like that -- it shouldn't require much skill. In fact who cares about skill when the majority of people probably play for fun -- not skill. Unless of course some find fun in skill.

on the other hand, the amazing looks amazing, as do the graphics, and it looks like the guns will be a lot of fun to use.

i just hope it doesn't end up in the same situation as cod4/5, with everyone using the same gun (mp5/mp40) camping and using martyrdom

i agree. but it wouldnt hurt them make the campaign longer. its going to be a sick single player but a short one at that. also i want big tacticle maps for onces. you can only run n gun on a map the size of a playground for so long. it gets boring. i need a reason to talk on the mic and work as a team.

Anyone seen the SpecOps footage on Gametrailers? It looks great fun :D It's a nice alternative for the people who don't enjoy the multiplayer as well.

What's everyone going to play first once they get the game? I might do the campaign first, then SpecOps and then Multiplayer :D I doubt I'll play Campaign/SpecOps on veteran yet as they will probably take around 15 hours each.. Ouch

I don't get the hate towards MW2, or even COD4. People claim it's a noobfest, and it's geared towards rewarding unskilled players, which is totally irrational. The game isn't even out so the haters are just assuming it will be bad.

I'm sure IW has beta-testers that play the game and give feedback on stuff like death streaks. If it doesn't work, they'll just pull it via an update.

What I see is a lot of people who probably think the game is at fault when they don't get a lot of kills..."I should be getting like 25 kills a match, but the game is a noobfest so I only got 10. Damn IW, learn to make a good game that's easy enough for me to get lots of kills."

i'm not quite as excited as op, but i do agree it will be a great game. i think treyarch fail hard, world at war was completely balls (aside from nazi zombies). infinity ward do know how to make a good game though, and i do think this could be the best campaign in the call of duty series beating cod 1's campaign.

i don't care too much for cod online, so i don't care what they do, i'll probably just get bored like i did with cod 4 and waw. i will play it for the single player though.

i personally don't think it will be my goty and i'll probably rank a few games above it, but that doesn't mean i won't enjoy playing it.

...CoD:WaW was more of a COD game than CoD4 could ever hope to be. Epicly-sized battles? Check. Emphasis on complete chaos on said battles? Check. Significantly varying locales? Check.

I still might get it anyways, if simply to play with my friends. I hope the PC version turns out well...
