Call of Duty is turning into a shovelware franchise  Well at least in the future when my kids laugh a COD I can tell them there was a period when COD was a AAA franchise.

wes008

Call of Duty through the years (Metacritic):

Call of Duty: 91 (PC)

Call of Duty 2: 89 (X360)

Call of Duty 3: 82 (X360)

Call of Duty MW: 94 (X360)

Call of Duty WaW: 84 (X360)

Call of Duty MW2: 94 (X360)

The Call of Duty franchise hasn't exactly gone downhill...:|

[QUOTE="gmc2u_64"]I'll probably get a nuke dropped on to my house for this, but I thought that MW2 was better than BC2 (In Campaign AND Multiplayer). So, I'm fairly optimistic about this.mitu123

I can argue single player, but multiplayer, not really IMO. Has less glitches, far more balanced, etc.

I experienced 10 crap loads of campers during my time in BC2 (Whereas in MW2, it wasn't as bad), which ruined the damn thing for me.

It's all personal opinion, people say Ubisoft's games are going downhill when most games they made this gen are 80+ on metacritic.

He said "Well at least in the future when my kids laugh a COD I can tell them there was a period when COD was a AAA franchise." Getting AAA isn't an opinion, in the most recent three there was 2 AAAs, in the first 3 games, only one AAA.

Speaking of lag... Ive been getting ridiculous amounts of lag lately. Im pretty sure its not me because im doing perfectly fine in BC2. Has anyone else experienced this?

i wonder if theres someone somewhere who just looked at his gaming shelf and saw MW, W@W, MW2, and realized hes bought the same game 3 times? maybe 4 if he sees it after MW3 comes out.

I wonder how long Activision thinks they can keep releasing the same game every year. You can't do it indefinitely, and the eventual mass exodus from the Call of Duty franchise will be hilarious.

Less glitches I can agree, but balance. Not really. There are a few weapons that everyone uses. The difficulty in shooting down air support. C4 on the UAV and blackhawks to blow up objectives without leaving the base. I could go on and on, but you get the point.

Good. My mama wants to raise me as a good American, so I make sure to play all the shooters I can for when I join the real Army. Mama said that the devil was in those college kids who sit around and play Modern Warfare in them college dorms and shoot stuff for no reason. UnAmerican, she said.

Well, I learned my lesson with MW2.. This game is a 100% rent. I can tear through the campaign and then sit back and laugh at all the AC-130 fodder complaining on the forums about the broken MP.

Well I'm definitely looking forward to it. A MW game every year might not be such a bad idea.. keeps it fresh. I know I can't play the same game for two years. If Treyarch is doing this one, that means zombie mode, possible campaign co-op, maybe some dedicated servers??

Thanks Activision. Now it's official.

West and Zampells got themselves sacked for doing what they did in "bad faith".

Well, I don't play it much at all now. But the game remains relevant to this day. I was arguing the basis that a shooter needs to come out every year to stay fresh or engaging. BF2 is a perfect example of the developer making a game good enough to be long lasting. Even BF2142 didn't derail BF2. That's all I'm saying.

Ah, I understand your point. My original post though was more related to my own personal enjoyment. I mean I could still pick up CS, CSS, TF2, BF2, BF2142, etc., and have some fun.. but it's not the same as when they first came out. So I wouldn't mind a fresh MW experience every year.

This is a direct quote from a person who does a podcast show Epic Battle Axe at Gametrailers and I found it hilarious. This is from one of their old episodes.

"Activision has reveal their plan to basically turn the Call of Duty franchise into Coca Cola. They are setting up like a new studio...Treyarch is working on a Call of Duty game...they got a third studio going to work on another Call of Duty game, presumely for 2011...they got this new studio Sledgehammer games working on a Modern Warfare title that is going to bring it, on quote,"in the action adventure genre"...they're talking to partners in Asia about the massive online market there...they setup an entire business division that's nothing but Call of Duty game...they are going to change this thing into ****ing Disney World!" -Brent Adams

klusps

Wait wait wait wait.... WAIT!

They are gonna make Duty World?

whoa
