[QUOTE="InsaneBasura"][QUOTE="WAIW"] We could all do without this silly, elitist mindset. If you hate MW2, fine. I do too. But calling people stupid for buying things they love -- even if at a premium price -- doesn't make any sense. WAIW
We could all do without people buying overpriced products purely because of the brand. Now that doesn't make any sense.
It makes sense. The more expensive cost is compensated, in the minds of the consumer, for the complete and total absence of risk. They know that they're getting new [and old] maps to play in, and that they'll have fun in those maps. And I'm saying that line of thinking is irrational. Relying purely on branding will get you screwed eventually, one way or the other. Usually one way. PC users were asked to pay €10 more, for a product lacking features of its predecessor, and are now asked to pay for maps fans of the series already own and which would probably have been modded into the game for free. They are complacent ardent enthusiasts who cannot resist an opportunity to indulge an enthusiasm.
As long as it doesn't affect me I guess I'm fine with it in theory. Evidently they think it's worth paying more and more whilst getting nothing/less in return. So good for them, or something. But you know, ACII was $60. Starcraft II will be $60.
