do you think the ps3's motion sensors features were a success or not? and did any game ever implement it well, or did you think it's just a failed gimmick to copy nintendo's motion control? the way i see it, it is meaningless and if i want to use motion sensor, id go play wii games. i think it's failed at copying nintendo. what is your opinon on the ps3's motion sensors and was it a success?

Better than Nintendo, that aimed for the casuals.

Nintendo's been failing with gamers ever since they showed the public Nintendo Wii.

........... Do you have a clue what the PS3s motion sensor is? Its by no means an attempt to replicate Nintendos IR sensor. Its just a small way t implement swift and short motion in some games. Its by no means meat to be a focal point.

Sony never meant to copy and the game that do icorperate the sixaxis do it well thus its no failure.

They hardly impliment the sixasis and was a simple add-on. We hardly see any games use sixasis nowadays so yeah in that sort of point of view you could say it's a fail. Then again comparing sixasis to the 3rd party wiimote support the Wii got in general, it looks much better imo. (Before motion + came out)

Two things. One, I'm not a critter. Two, I assume you're talking about Sixaxis and as Shirokishi said earlier, it was never meant to be a focal point in any game, which is a completely different stance than what Nintendo took.

In some games it works, but in others, it's terrible, not to mention hardly many games use it. It should had been left out for the most part., no wonder Sony is making that Wand.

It's a failure overall.

What's the matter? He was merely commenting on your poor attempts at making your posts look "girly" and "cute." No need to get offended by the truth.

On topic: I don't think it was a failure, but not a complete success either. If it had been a big success, than they wouldn't have the need to create the Wand. I must say, I enjoyed using the controls in games that utilized it well.

Some games used it well like flower , warhawk , folklore , and Killzone 2 sniping. The only major complaint I'm assuming was Lair only because it was required (at least until the patch). Some others didn't really implenent it well , but nothing that really hurt the experience.

Sixaxis motion sensor? I think that was a sucess I guess.

The PS3 wand? I think it will be overpriced and fail. Also, most casual people do not have a PS3 in their household.

The Wand is coming out next year and was announced at E3 09, it's going to be similar to the Wiimote. This vid shows it in action.

The sixaxis was a failure. You can tell by how many games over the last few years support it.

And Kitty don't worry about these guys. Some of them are as humorless as an bottle of ketchup.Male or female or whatever, I appreciate when people try to at least inject some sort of originality or wit in their posts instead of acting like supersensitive anime/Sony/MS/Nintendo fanboy number 4000.

Keep it up.

Sony doesnt support six axis anymore= Failed gimmick to grab some nintendo magic. Not saying it was inteded to do exactly what nintendo did, but they were trying to grab the coat tails and ride it... they failed.

As it has not come out yet I do not know. The most important aspect about the motion controlers is that they KEEP CONTROL in that use of it. If it is for casual gamers as a whole with only mini games then It will fail even if it sells 50Million.

IF it enhances the game experience then it is a success. I think in games like KoTOR, Infamous, and other Action games or sword fighting games like Soul Caliber it could help by adding a different kind of action that works well with the game.

Sony has enough first party Developers to make plenty of good games using the motion controler and 3D games

It was already a instant success for me with MotorStorm. Later, with Warhawk, it only got better.

There are plenty of games that made a good use of the feature, but those 2 i mentioned are enough to justify it's implementation.

This... Sixaxis was never meant to replicate the Wiimote, it was more of a little extra thing dev's could throw in here and there.

I loved it. But no, its wasnt a success. People wined alot about which was mostly an optional feature. Its gotten to the point where devs dont even bother (Uncharted 2).

Thanks alot guys.

Its cool but not necessary. It only is awesome in racing games (I enjoyed a lot the motion controls in Motorstorm), but in everything else is pretty much useless.

In my experience it has either been used poorly, as a flimsy gimmick or not at all. The only exception I can think of is Warhawk. The only game where it seems to make sense, be integral and not make the game control worse.

The sixaxis just added to the experience, they could have easily not incorporated the use of it in the games and it would have still worked out. I don't think it was neither a succuss or failure, just an added bonus if used properly like in Heavenly sword.

You're welcome. Rather than wasting time tuning that BS they could focus on tuning the controls to the benefit of everyone instead of deviants who like throwing grenades by arcing their controller in the middle of getting shot at. Which adds nothing and only serves to make the simple process of throwing a grenade needlessly difficult.

if you want to see an example of why i dont hang out here and say stupid things to make you folks laugh anymore you need to look no further than this. people around here have gotten so thin skinned that you cant say "hmmm y'know what? i disagree with you on that" without getting reported for it... anyway do devs even put sixaxis support in games anymore? I have not played anything that used it in quite awhile now so from that perspective it's been utter fail

And yes, the Six-axis feature has been included in a couple of games. . . the only one I can name is Flower - which is awesome, mind you.:P

Sixaxis is actually more responsive then the Wiimote and can be a lot of fun in games that support it. I wouldn't pay for it but it's a gimmick I actually enjoy.

no it doesn't. The wii fails with harsh motions, but it does extemely well with tilting/ steering/ slight movements. The sixaxis seems to do better becuase it never has to do harsh movements, but it is actually less responsive than the wiimote

Hey! I'm not a critter :3

Well it is a little silly to have motion sensing in a controller You hold with both paws. But just as a small tilt mechanic it can work well.
I played Lair with it, and Warhawk a bit. It works decently in that kind of way.
But seriously, it doesn't even come close to the wii no. If You want motion sensing You should go for the wii.

It's not a problem because PS3 is a cool gamers console (it used to be super expensive) and those cool people reallllly didn't care about the idea of motion sensing At All. Not even a little bit. So i'm sure they'll be fine without it.

Ow and also, about the cute talk: That isn't necesarily a way to appear different than who You are. Some people just are really cute or nice, and personally i love those people. So, meh.

CD-i_ownz
But that is reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally not true. It's incredibly unresponsive compared to the wiimote. It responds slower and less precise.
