Molyneux says "Playstation Move just like Wii"

Peter Molyneux, the man behind such high-concept video games as Black & White and Fable, says that Sony's Playstation Move is not really distinguishable from the Wii's motion controls.In an interview with UGO, Molyneux said, "I find it hard in my mind to differentiate between the Sony Move and the Wii... I know Sony and Nintendo would argue that they are different, but they kind of seem the same." The comments no doubt echo what many gamers think. The Move controller looks similar to the Wii Remote and it does not, in its overall scope, appear to do much more than the Wii.

This is also surprised me. Gamers think Move looks like Wii Remote? No way!

So do I. And many other people. Although, it probably is better. But not by a huge margin (coming out a year after motion plus, and being 100$, it better be at least better).

isn't it kinda obvious where Sony got its inspiration? Anyways, the Move better be better than the Wiimote seeing its way more expensive and coming out in 2010 (wherelse the wii came out in 2006...I think?)

And Kinect is just like Eye Toy. Forgot that little tidbit eh Pete? Move is a better Wiimote and Kinect is a better Eye Toy. Neither of them are redically new.

Now what do we get, Fable and Milo? I think he deserves to be attacked. He talks yet never delivers now.

Well it makes sense from a business standpoint for Sony to copy a successful model. While they are very similar the move has the ability to recognize room position because of its light tacking. It is also slightly more accurate than motion + because of this light tracking(supposedly anyway). whereas MS is taking a approach that essentially in my mind is unpractical for most gaming application its lack of buttons does limit gameplay(in some genres more than others obviously) as well as the space required for the kinect to work properly.

MS is banking on the idea of kinect and the ability to maket it to casuals based on the novelty and low learning curve. No doubt some dev will make an amazing game for kinect if successful because the technology is very interesting and definately has some potential for innovation but for the most part MS I think dropped the ball by trying to be different. In the end neither will be as successful as the WII but at least the Move is trying to imrpove the formula whereas Kinect is too radical for its own good buzzwords like "innovative" and "controller-less" and the initial realization of a body tracking camera will ignite the imaginations of people who don't know better. Judging by the e3 presentation MS is hoping perception of its advance tech will sell it seeing as the software linup is the weakest out of the 2.

As for Molynewx, Has great ideas, creativity and vision for game design but not the talent to implement it into compelling software. He isn't a bad developer by any means but certainly not the industry leader MS and he want you to believe he is at least not anymore(pretty much since black and white came out and was disappointingly poorly implemented). He will obviously hype up the technology he is working with but has he deved for wii? or even got his hands on the move to compare it to the Wii? I highly doubt it.

my problem is that the Move half has ZERO movement controls. No d-pad, no analog stick. You have to have a second half just to move in any game.

Move is more accurate. Thats the diff right there. However Natals games just look like wiis where as only one of psmoves does.

Well, at least its supposedly better than the Wiimote. If they aren't going to innovate at least they are raising the quality bar. As for the people saying Kinect and PS Eye are the same I'd suggest you do some research. PS Eye can't do hardly any of the things Kinect can. Don't you find it strange nobody in the industry is saying Kinect is a PS Eye ripoff?Zero5000X

Kinect and Move is piece of sh1--t copy cats. I cant believe they cant come up with their own ideas. Not only that but us gamers want great games that does not require Kinect/Move. MrFamBoyLOL

Cool, now I can skip buying the Wii successor and just get Move.
