Sales dropping off even more on PS3.

Horrendous software and software attach rate.

FEAR being worse on PS3 than 360.

Graphics still not as good as 360.

And now...another Sony cash cow could be in trouble...

Spider-Man 3. --- 64% at RT....45% cream of the Crop

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/spiderman_3/

Spider-Man 1 --- 90% at RT...84% cream of the crop

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/spiderman/

Spider-Man 2 --- 93% at RT...95% cream of the crop

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/spiderman_2/

As you can see....Spider-Man 3 is by far the WORST reviewed Spider-Man BY FAR!

It also cost Sony a reported 250 million dollars to make

Critics don't matter though...right?  Let's see what fans have to say...

Taken from IMDB...

"Well, for starters, I am a great fan of the first two Spider-Man films; each of them had nice action scenes, subtle character development and a great storyline.

Unfortunately, Number 3 lacks each of these components. The story is told in bad **** rushing trough each character's part almost like a clip show. The villains are wasted, from air-skateboarding Goblin Junior (aka Harry "My Daddy didn't love me" Osborn) over Sandman, who should have gotten a much larger part without the silly "I'm not a bad guy" speeches, to Venom, who appears only at the very end of the movie and seems almost like a caricature of himself (Topher Grace being the 2nd worst miscast after Bryce Dallas Howard, whose Gwen Stacy is but an insult for everyone who loved the comic book character). Oddly, the worst of them all remains to be Toby Maguire, whose Peter Parker is drifting between an overconfident, slightly gay Damienesque teenager and a crying young man who's just to stupid to say anything intelligent in the presence of his own girlfriend. The great characterization of the former films is completely gone, replaced by showing the protagonist's personality change by a new haircut (!!!)

And, for last, why does everybody in this movie seem to cry all the time? I think I didn't see that much tear-filled eyes in "Gone with the Wind" and "Casablanca" combined... even the SFX (which are close to overkill in several scenes) can't safe this Spidey for me, and I can understand now why the main cast hesitates to do another one. "

LOL!  I'm not saying most fans will hate it.  But if they do, Spider-Man 3 could fall hard from bad word of mouth.  Of course, the opening weekend will be huge...but after that?  Sony may have a stinker on their hands...yet again!  Remember how bad the movies were from Sony studios last year?  Here we go again...

Spider-Man 3" cast a worldwide web with a blockbuster first day, hauling in $29.15 million in 16 overseas markets and beating the debuts of the previous two "Spider-Man" flicks in each locale.

The film had the best opening day ever Tuesday in some countries, including France, Italy, South Korea and Hong Kong, distributor Sony Pictures said.

"Spider-Man 3" opens over the next couple of days in dozens of other countries, including the United States on Friday.

"`Spider-Man' is a worldwide franchise, and the thing we're most excited about is that in two pretty completely separate parts of the world we've gotten off to a great start," Jeff Blake, Sony vice chairman, said Wednesday. "We certainly hope for the same in North America."

Domestically, 2002's "Spider-Man" opened with $114.8 million in its first weekend, a record debut that stood until "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" shattered it last year with a $135.6 million weekend.

"Spider-Man 2" opened on a Wednesday before the Fourth of July weekend in 2004, pulling in a record $180.1 million in its first six days.

The two previous films combined for a total of $1.6 billion worldwide, about half of that coming in the United States.

In France, "Spider-Man 3" took in $6.8 million on opening day, more than the first-day grosses there for "Spider-Man" and "Spider-Man 2" combined.

It grossed $4.6 million in Germany, $4 million in Italy, $3.7 million in Japan, $3.4 million in South Korea, $1.1 million in the Philippines and $1 million each in Hong Kong and Thailand.

Yeah, they've been around forever. It's the first site I go to when looking for 'published' reviews. From the Wiki:

The site is one of the most heavily trafficked on the Internet, with an Alexa Internet ranking of 660 (as of July 24, 2006) and between 60-120 million page views per day.

I heard it was the best of the Trilogy from many reputable sites, either way I'm seeing it. The question is will I see it 2 or 3 times in the theatre's or just once is up to SONY, Sam Raimi, and the gang.

No that reviews about spot on, its got a lame story but the action scenes and vemon are awesome, other then those two things the movies boring as hell. Its still better then most the stuff thats been released over the last couple months but hot fuzz, shooter are more enjoyable then spiderman 3 which for the time and money put into it is a joke.

Interesting enough, many reputable review sites are saying that his is the best movie of trilogy (at least the brazillian ones that I go to). So I will keep my opinion until I see it on this weekend. Besides, watching a hero fighting his inner demons should be so lame...(/sarcasm)

I really hate rotten tomatoes, they seem to hate every series i love, and love every series i hate.  They state their own personal opinion's as facts.  They insult my Saw movies and now Spider Man?  Always pessimistic little critics.  Hey that's what the internet's for right?

What are you talking about?  Do you know how RottenTomatoes works?  Have you actually visited the site?

Still, I do agree that the critics don't always get it right.  See what the critics thought about 300 .

They can misquote...for instance "this movie is pure crap!"

can be made to say in a trailer 'THIS MOVIE IS PURE!"

you know only reason these lemming gamestop forum kids is posting stuff like this is because they are insecure about there own system which im sure is the 360. 360 will never have the #1 spot ever. not last gen not this gen not next gen. your system is trash and it breaks down like trash. deal with it. now you dont see wii owners downing the ps3 like the 360 kids are. because you can actually respect the wii for its inovation. 360 has halo and gears of war thats its inovation

Dont listen to critics they have very different tastes then the general public. Im completly with you I love the saw movies and honestly I couldnt care less what they say about it, so what if the movies are a mindless bloodbath they are as entertaining as hell, so what if the hidden messages in Saw are overly ovious, it makes me feel smart whereas I couldnt follow a second of "The good Shepard".

The general problem I got from the review off this movie were that there were too many plotlines and villians, while I did have a feeling that would happen, I felt the powerless spiderman plotline in the second movie dragged on abit too much, so what if Venom only appears at the end of the movie anyone with half a brain could tell thats what they were doing based on the commercials and that seems like a great way to end the movie
