look like MS finally going the mobile route, not with specific hardware, but by bringing Live to the Windows mobile OS. Will it succeed?

Isn't that on like CellPhones? wouldn't games on that suck?
Apple is more in tune with handheld gaming than Microsoft.
[QUOTE="wolverine4262"]I want it on my Zune...littlestreakier
Zune HD WTF!!!!!!! i want it for Zune too
ya, the zune hd could run any xbla game easily...Its probably capable of running xbox originals as well..haing xbl on the zune would be great. The video marketplace is already integrated...How does this compete with PSP and DS? It's for their Windows Mobile OS, which have long existed before the other two. At the most, this is competition between mobile OS like Andriod and Apply OS.
Blue-Sky
and Iphone.
Though it does look like somewhere down the road all these mobile devices will start competing somehow when they become more and more multifunctional.
Iphone already competes with Cell phones and portable Media players and when games get bigger and bigger on Itunes they will compete with DS and PSP.
PSP Go is becoming more Ipod/Iphone like with digital only games, media player functionality and a smaller form factor. I wouldn't be surprised that Sony would give the PSP 2 or 3 phone functionality.
Windows mobile 7 and Xboxlive platform seems like a natural fit and can be implemented into Zune as well.which is one of the rivals of Ipod touch and eventually PSPGO and DS.
Portable mulitmedia devices are only going to grow more and more sophisticated and do a lot of things others do.
Microsoft better not enter the handheld gaming buisness... that's all I'm saying.
awssk8er716
why?
How about Apple entering the gaming business?
I think we are living in exciting times and it looks like it is innevitable.

Because Microsoft would get slaughtered by Apple, Nintendo, and heck EVEN SONY!
Nintendo already has their hands on a Nvidia Chip for their Handheld and they are even thinking of putting 3G on their Next Handheld!
Apple is slowly getting into the Handheld gaming world and Sony has some stunning PSP games.
what can Microsoft do??
actually now that I think about it I'm actually curious on what Mirosoft would do.

same could have been said when Microsoft entered the video games market which was dominated by Sony.
Nintendo have always been around with the longest console gaming expeirience.
Sony entered the handheld market when Nintendo monopolized it with the Gameboy.
The PSP might have some competition, but the DS will stay leagues ahead of the two in sales and games.
Longcat2
I'm thinking Sony is trying to copy the Iphone/Ipod with a the smaller form factor and digital only device -PSPGo.
It's not doing well at all.
I reckon if Apple officially entered the comp, they would do a way bettter job then Sony. They have a bigger following, more apps, support and better online.
it would be the better rival to the DS.

the chip is called tegra. its made by Nvidia...I dont know how you could possibly claim itll make the next DS "epic" if you know so ltl about it. Anyway, the Zune is already capable of games more advanced than the original xbox. Whether or not MS will leverage that though is anybody's guess...Please Log In to post.
