Is it really that hard to choose? It's like those idiots that think Lair flopped less thanMP3. :?
At least Blue Dragon is playable, hell, Lair's review says in the first paragraph, "You shouldn't play Lair". I think that's an indication of it already.
[QUOTE="dubvisions"]Just let it go..no need to damage control, its impossible. We are talking about gaming. And thats where Lair fell short. The gameplay, from the reviews, seems to be so bad its almost unplayable. IMO, I think thats a stretch. I'd like to try it myself.
But you must admit, just as reviewers have, that Lair has very good graphics, great audio, and an intriguing story. You absolutely can't say this game flopped on all accounts. It, at least, pushed the envelope on what can be done on those three factors. And, obviously, it failed on gameplay, a HUGE factor.
I mean, really, whats worse? Having a game like Lair, that actually pushes the envelope in graphics, audio, and story? OR, having a game like Hour of Victory that does none of that.
Get off this "hype" crap. At the end of the day, Lair's a great addition to the PS3 lineup. And the general public will be playing this game, hyped or not.

OMG he just confirmed his Cow status for me... he still tries to find a way to talk positive and... that's fine but... pushing the envelope???? IN graphics...audio and story?? Is it really? I didn't see many reviews talk about how Lair's graphics and audio and story are changing the face of gaming.
Lair... i thought that was gonna be one of the coolest games ever.. I mean, HOW could it suck?? Dragons, Fire, Blood, Factor 5!!! i was gonna buy a ps3 just for that game, i think im gonna buy one next week, but, i really dont even know if its worth it right now.VendettaRed07

I guess we all now know that you like $hitty games. Lair is crap, it's not worth the $55 get over, Th3 playstation 3 folk are paying too much in general, and all they get is mediocre games.
Well I think for the PS3 it has to be a bigger dissapointment because there just isn't much great exclusive stuff for the platform PLUS many people have paid a lot for that console. It's strange to see situations where great gameplay games end up with better graphics on the 360 over the PS3 time and time again. Of course the excuse is always the time with the development kit but I think this is more about inefficencies in the libraries and the toolkit itself. Now a graphically great exclusive game comes a long and it has poor gameplay. Obviously not a balanced development effort.
Blue Dragon is a dissapointment but who is even thinking about it with Mass Effect just around the corner. Now if Mass Effect gets a 4.5 it will be the biggest dissapointment in next gen by far..possibly in the history of consoles from the way I see it.
Lair - 4.5
Blue Dragon - 6.0
I think I'd go for Lair since it was being created by a developer that created an AAA game. I was interested in the game due to the boss fights but ever since IGN's score, my interest went down. Shame but that's why we have blockbuster and friends who don't look at reviews. :P
