[QUOTE="crazymalicous"][QUOTE="JocktheMotie"][QUOTE="---OkeyDokey---"] explain.JocktheMotie
Difficult to explain without hearing actual examples. Emo is stuff like Simple Plan, Good Charlette (sp???lol), Dashboard, anything really "teen" and urban, and the music is really, really simple. Whereas metal has some pretty complex structures, sing more about death and pain as a reverence than as a bad thing, and is generally more awesome. Go listen to some Simple Plan on iTunes, then listen to In Flames, and tell me there isn't a difference.
Why is this funny? Show me how Children of Bodom or Wintersun don't have musically complex songs. If Beethoven and Mozart were alive today, they'd make metal music.

@ The Concept Of "Emo" People - You have two people. "Emotional" people who are simply people who are overly sensitive and release it in positive ways (EX. Me). Then "Emo" people are people who dress and act a certain way regardless of wether they enjoy it or not, just for attention.Son_Of_Synyster

This debate will go NOWHERE. Music has broken down into so many genres and sub-genres it's ridiculous. In the eighties, a band like Ratt or Poison was "Metal", not so much anymore. Being a horrible music snob, I could go on all day but in short, there's talent and no talent in EVERY style of music. The thing that gets me is when people throw every band into one clump and bash them for being "Talentless". The Human Abstract have so much talent, it's sickening. Yet, so does Josh Groban. All the labels now have led everyone to fall into one or the other, and EVERYONE misses out on amazing music because of it. To reply to the question, from what I've seen, GH III has WAY more "Metal".Son_Of_Synyster

its the other way round most of the time. I think you underestimate people. Most gamers like lots of types of music, fanboys might not because they have unhealthy attachments to things in all aspects of their lives, anyhoo just cus someone posts here doesn't mean you can generalize them like that.

LOL, no offense but... A7X METAL?? please.... each band member has their own clothing line LITERALLY. Their pretty much a boy band that uses guitars, and care more about money than the actual music. GHIII being all metal would be awesome, seeing how all metal songs have more complex riffs and solos that use penatonic scales and fast alternate picking.

i took major offense to this as there is a muse song in gh3. You do know Muse is widely considered as pretty much the top band in the world right now???
True, i'd love to see Assasin, Plug in Baby, Stolkholm Syndrome or more.............[QUOTE="Son_Of_Synyster"][QUOTE="casale"][QUOTE="Son_Of_Synyster"]This debate will go NOWHERE. Thank you for saying that for me. :D
But truely if you listen to Hawthorne Heights and then listen to something like Nile you will clearly notice that one of the bands suck ass and the other kicks ass. Simple as that.
GHIII will probably have more metal.

emo is more of a darn style now than anything else. Emo music is stuff like hawthorne heights and good charlotte. As for metal, well thats completly diffrent....wergfwefwef
how the f**k is good charlote emo ? I have been listening to them since 1994 before all this emo crap. cause i am from maryland and so are they ?
if good charlte is emo then so is deftones and korn. cause thier music is more emotional then anything.
for gods sake i really hate labels.
Well, from what I have seen, GH3 has more metal in it so far. In my opinion its going to be a little more difficult for certain genres of metal to make it into Rock Band purely because they make use of double bass drums and Rockband only has one pedal.
Anyway, what is metal? Metal is a ton of different things. It's a very versatile genre where you have the likes of death and life side by side. It's a genre where one band screams visceral lyrics amidst bombastic sounds while another elegantly weaves soaring vocals with speedy guitar solos. It's a genre where bands can sound like they recorded in their garage or with a 50 piece orchestra. It's a genre where men covered in face paint, clad in battle armor, or donning leather pants is a common occurrence. It's a genre where you can have pirates, barbarians, vikings, and warriors all play in a single concert. It's a genre that births music so cheesy you're embarrassed at times to listen to it by yourself or so heavy that you get pumped up for a long day at work. In essence, metal is everything, but everything is not metal.
Ya, I think that pretty much covers it. If you haven't listened to much metal before check out bands like Turisas, Rhapsody of Fire, or heck even much of Trans-Siberian Orchestra. In my opinion having orchestras with their music makes them a little more accessible to the common person.

No, not emo music. Metal. There is a difference.
It really gets to me that alot of people think I'm emo because I listen to heavy metal, death metal, or any kindof metal.
I don't have a stupid haircut, I don't cry for no reason, I actually have friends. I'm not bloody emo.
Sorry had to get that off my chest.
thats probably offensive to all the emo's in this thread.*Pauses Lykathea Aflame*
Metal... yes, good genre... GH and RB... yes, barely any metal...
Man, this thread is kind of boring. I figured by now there would be a bigger music genre flame fest :-/.

I love rap and hip-hop and listen to metal so it really just comes down to taste[QUOTE="Taalon"]
You should try some power metal. Power metal is heavy music but with clean vocals.
Dream Theater
Dragonforce
3 Inches Of Blood
Virus214
I love dragonforce.. :D its so awesome.
Rhapsody FTW!!!!!!! 8)
Neither have really any good metal, but it really depends on what type of metal you are looking for. I prefer Progressive Death Metal, Blackened Death Metal, and Melodic Death Metal, and a few death/black metal styles as well. Neither games have any of this, although GHIII is the better bet from what we've seen so far.
PS: Dragonforce are proven cheaters.

But they aren't too good talentwise compared to other bands like Stone, Depressive Age, Rage, etc.....at all.
