More than a million reasons why PS3 will not be N.1 this year, at least.

Let's get straight these facts. No opinions, no fanboys, not biased.

PS3-      1 million units sold roughly
Wii -      4 million units sold roughly
360-      10 million units sold roughly

Going on...
PS3 has approximately the same time out than  Wii, which is, since NOVEMBER, right now, 3 months on the shelves. Which means that :

Wii  has sold 1 million units per month, average.
PS3 has sold 0.333... million units per month, average.

Facts end here. But let's imagine a friendly scenario for PS3. Just by a crazy miracle  not even 1 Wii or Xbox360 sells. Which means that , until next year the 4 million and 10 million units sell mark  for 360 and Wii, remain like that. NORMALLY, the launch window, is the best  time of sales, or as I like to say the console rush buys (remember the gigantic lines that were on launch??).

So, pretending that through the whole year the console sells with the same "great" rythm, and with 10 months to finish the year: we end up with 3.3 million units sold, or in final and round numbers: 4 million units sold, or the same Wii has sold till now.

AS YOU CAN SEE, NOT EVEN IN THE BEST SCENARIO POSSIBLE, PS3 CANT HAVE THIS YEAR.

HOPE NEXT YEAR, COWS.

Ps3 has sold 1.5-2 million. So actually it would be 500,000 a month over 12months would be 6 million. 7 millon .

Good thing there were not enough ps3 during launch.  Or sony would have tricked many more people into buying their system.  I feel bad for europe as they will get a hefty supply for the ps3 launch.

Don't most of a console's sales occur later during it's life time?

Those seem right to me. The last official numbers we heard for the 360 were 10.4 million, and Nintendo and Sony both relatively recently announced that they've sold 4 million and 1 million systems respectively.

Couple things here.  First off VGcharts are pretty accurate.  VGcharts counts total number of systems sold to consumers not sold to retail outlets which is what that 10.4 million is.

Second the TC said that the Wii has been out for aproximatly 3 months and has sold 1 million per month.  The Wii has been out 10 weeks it was released mid month in November.  Even if it was 3 months though that would be 1.33million per month.

10.4 is the number MS has SHIPPED not sold theres a difference

There's also a difference between Sony's shipped and sold. When MS says shipped, they mean shipped to retailers, meaning that they are in stores. When Sony says shipped, they mean shipped from the factory. Meaning that they've shipped from to factory to either stores OR warehouses - not all of those are in stores.

Sony says that they sold 2 million by the end of 2006.  They also said that they will have sold 6 million by the end of March.  Yes Sony's numbers are also shipped but they don't have near as many systems sitting on store shelves as M$ does.  The VGCharts numbers are very close.  They run off of NPD, Japanese retail sales tracking, and some European sales tracking system.

1 Reason why your wrong you have no proof and are basing your facts upon speculation considering PS3 has definitly surpassed the 1 Million mark You dont know the PS3 wont come back, im not saying it will but you cant just throw around your biased opinion like its factR-Dot-Yung

Look, this isn't supposed to be real. Cause still we have Wii/360 sales. I was talking conservative. Little numbers no decimals included, and specially, NO WII OR 360 sales. It isn't biased, if I were biased, I'd  keep 360 and Wii sales, which would give

10 million Wii's this year, for a grand total of 14 million units sold

5 more million units sold, -if Someone keeps talking about shipped, yet not sold- for 360 for a grand total of 15 million units sold

and, for PS3, being generous with a total of 9 million units sold for 10 million units.

That would be biased for me. I was being nice to Sony, and still, it lost saleswise

Nexgenwars tracking system is all screwed up.  It uses some random counter system which doesn't work for a crap.  It has said 10.4 million for the 360 for months now even though Microsoft confirmed that they had not sold that many systems.

what i dont understand is why people say MS didnt sell 10.4 million 360's. if they shipped to retailers, that means that retailers had to pay for the consoles before hand, right? i mean MS doesnt just ship them to whoever and hope to get paid. so with this in mind MS has sold over 10.4 million 360's. now sony on the other hand said they shipped about 2 million, but not all to retailers. some were left in warehouse waiting to be shipped. so sony didnt sell all of the units they said they did.

What do you mean link?  Is there something your debating there?  I don't have the link where Microsoft says that they did not sell 10.4 million to consumers but it's out there somewhere I'm sure plenty of people can vouche for that.

How am I sapposed to prove that the 360 numbers have been at 10 million on nexgenwars for some time?  I have no link for you because there is no link to give.

Fanboys tend to bash small insignificances that doesn't change the main idea or structure, just to get rid of ownage at any cost.

Also, he isn't accounting for the fact that the PS3 hasn't launched in Europe yet...
