Mortal Kombat 9 on PC sold way way above expectations

So apparently PC gamers really like fighting games. And buy them.

NetherRealm Studios join the growing list of developers to discover that PC gamers exist and buy games. Co-creator of Mortal Kombat Ed Boon responded to a question on Twitter about sales of Mortal Kombat 9, saying that they were way, way above expectations.

Then again he didn't specify the numbers, but this is pretty encouraging regarding the possibility of future MK games on PC.

We, PC gamers know we exist ;)

I already owned it for PS3, but was very tempted to buy it on the steam sale.  I did not however, since my buddy wouldnt buy it for the price it was at.  Once it gets to 15 or less I will pick it up.  Glad it is selling so well!

Yet we all know games don't sell on PC because of Piracy! This is why no one makes games for PC and it has the smallest community.

My mate never stops playing MK9 on his PC, and he is a recent console convert, the difference in all games he plays blew him away, and he only has a Phenom II/ 4GB DDR3/ Radeon 7770.

Glad to hear, already played MK on the PS3 back in the day, but will get the PC version eventually.

Glad it did well. It's still lolfighting games but I'm always happy when a dev tries a new platform with their product and it does well. Alan Wake,Dark Souls now MK9

Thats great, but I played that to death and back 2 years ago on ps3.

You can get it for 30 bucks on steam, or you can pay like 17 bucks and buy it on a console where you get it a real physical copy you can do anything you want with.

It was on the steam summer sale, Im pretty sure if it wasnt then it wouldnt have sold as much as they expected it. Steam summer sales are big events so it got a lot of concentrated advertising being on it. But if it was just 30 bucks without a sale I doubt it would have sold as many times as it did.
