Well back in the day MK was fairly popular on PC. I still remember playing 4 a lot with school friends. I bought it for nostalgia of that and also of previous ones on arcade and SNES.

why would you want to play a fighter on a pc? whats next RTS on console?
Ginosaji
I don't see the relevance. RTS wasn't possible on consoles primarily due to weak CPUs and the controller (lack of precision and too few buttons.) There's no such issue porting a fighting game to PC, which always has access to the latest hardware and every input device imaginable. The only limiting factor has been a perceived lack of interest in the genre among PC gamers.
Which is a pretty big deal for a genre that thrives on competition. Â Fighting games are pointless on pc.

This is like saying mmo and fps are pointless on Consoles....
Â
Yet they are on them and do/score well.
Â
Face it, MK9 best on PC and sold above expectations.

expand please..why do you think fighting games on the PC are pointless?Hermits love console games

Most of them have consoles. It's just good to play the games on a PC.

We love stealing your games and getting better versions :) , leaving you guys with almost no exclusives! (Which is why PC has 3x more than each console this gen alone!)
Wonder why he does not give number. I guess because still does not compare to how sold on console. I expect MK sell better on pc than most fighter game because has pretty good story, and not just ending for fighter or usual animation story.Mr-Kutaragi
Â
MK9 was release for console two years ago of course it didn't sell as much, and he can't simply just tell the the number of copies sold.

But release at reduce price of pc because late. Even includes DLC? Sure he can give range of sale, do for console game all the time. Saying beat expectation does not mean much, since fighter game on pc have very low expectation for sale. More helpful if giving range of sale.[QUOTE="CroidX"][QUOTE="Mr-Kutaragi"]Wonder why he does not give number. I guess because still does not compare to how sold on console. If Boon could have told us how much it sold he would have already done so on twitter. We don't know how much they expected it to sell if they were expecting very low sales they probably wouldn't have release it.

There are more than one motivation for not release at least sales range. Maybe does not want to, because will bring comparison to console sale. They contract out pc port. Does not cost much for developer of 50 cent psp, Conduit, Star Wars Kinect.[QUOTE="CroidX"][QUOTE="Mr-Kutaragi"] But release at reduce price of pc because late. Even includes DLC? Your comparing the port to a psp and andrioid game? There are probably many reason whe he didn't so far we don't know anything about how much they expected the game to sale.

Maybe edit one more time. I am not comparing. Developer quality is not very high, so cost to contract them is not much to port 2 year old console game, than would be for them to pause own projects and concentrate on port. Is not baseless assumption, however. Read post to other user. I did not say cost the same, please do not put words in mouth as this is desperation tactic because losing argument. Cost to contract such developer is not high. Not known to make AAA, or AA title.[QUOTE="CroidX"][QUOTE="Mr-Kutaragi"] There are more than one motivation for not release at least sales range. Yea beacuse you know how much they cost right yet you use example of games that you claim who's pc port was cheap to make nothing but assumptions.

When people aren't good at fighting games (a result of expecting to be good when you first start), they tend to dislike the genre.
Well that goes for all genres, the strategy genre especially above all others.[QUOTE="Yangire"][QUOTE="mitu123"]What's wrong with them?O_oMrYaotubo

Well that goes for all genres, the strategy genre especially above all others.I'm awful at RTS games but I enjoyed Age of Mythology and the Age of Empires series. I also played a little bit of Company of Heroes and it didn't seem too confusing but I lost interest.Fighting games on the otherhand usually don't even have a real campaign. They just make you fight enemies and don't even tell you the controls as you go along, you have to look at a sheet. I think that this game is different in this regard but in general I'm pretty sure it's true.Â

Most modern fighting games have tutorials, not a lot of early ones do though.

I suppose it depends from person to person but in general fighting games are easier to get into in comparison to a strategy game,it doesn´t mean you need to be good at it but just getting into a fighting game for the first time even if you mash buttons you can still get enjoyment out of it,while button mashing won´t get you anywhere on a strategy game. I mean, look at it this way, what would be more acessible to someone that never played either genre,a few matches of say,Guilty Gear or a match of Hearts of Iron? Being good and/or mastering the games is a very different thing.[QUOTE="Davekeeh"]
