Mortal Kombat 9 will make Gears, GOW3 and Manhunt 2 look like Powerpuff girls

Yeah you heard me right. I said Powerpuff girls!

Despite Midway going under the franchise it's best known for -well at least to me- is still alive, and thank god for that. Mortal Kombat 9will be true to the franchise title, no experiment like MKvsDC which took out the main appeal the series is known for. Ed Boon is set to give the fans what they went, gore like we have never seen before! You thought GOW3 was sickening well guys the king has returned and will usher in a new era of gruesome kombat. The title will surely make an official showing at E3 seeing as how its set for a late 2010 release. Not much else is known except it's going to go back ot the series roots which is only a good thing for those like me who were disappointed with the Kiddy version, lol.

This is a first proper MK of this gen and Ill be damnded if it doesnt deliver. When its shown at E3 jaws will hit the floors!

Yup. Mortal Kombat has always been broken. All it had going for it during the 16 bit era was the gore, and that stopped being entertaining a couple of generations ago, given that it was the only thing it had.

Pfft you crrrazy. MK is one of the top fighting games, may be not be as in depth like Tekken or Street Fighter but it's enjoyable and that is what matters. I liked some of the 3D ones, think it kinda fell after Deadly Alliance but Im certain MK9 will be a rebirth for the franchise.

Mortal Kombat went to hell when it went 3D. If they want Mortal Kombat to make a comeback, do what Capcom did with STreet Fighter. 3-D characters on a 2-D plane.

Gore is for show and hides the lack of depth. Who really wants all that gore if there is no quality gameplay to back it up?

Mk 1 and 2 were good fighting games for there day. These days it will take more then gore, but you would think devs know this already, Im not going to write this off completely but am not holding my breath either.

This. Hold select + L1, L2, R1, R2 simultaneously to enable the cheat menu, which allows you to toggle 1 button fatalities. :twisted:

I have fond memories of the MK games. Here's hoping this one can be good.

I wouldn't mind playing this. I like Mortal Kombat. Here's hoping it's good.

EDIT: I also don't care if people find this MK game bad, I'm liking Deadly Alliance and wish to continue on with Deception and Armageddon.

They should make it in 2D, with 3D environments. SF4/SSF4 did a great job with it this gen.
