But most PS3 owners are quite happy sticking with the PS3. Everyone knows whether the real exclusives are at, and with most multiplats looking the same or, in some cases, better on the PS3 (FF13 / Bad Company 2), there is really only one choice this gen.

Hell, even Valve, the PS3 haters, have changed their tune...

The money they are paying to set them selves up for a good gaming experience is more than the ps3.

And that is why they can't switch... they have bought all these games and overpriced accessories, not to mention XBL membership, and they can't get off the boat... they wish they could but they can't afford to...

If i hadn't bought my PS3, i would be over £800 up, and far happier. I'm quite content with what the Xbox offers, the PS3 does not compliment it at all.

Your topic say most 360 owners would buy a PS3 if they could afford it. It can cost more for the xbox plus it roughly the same now so whats your point.

If you buy either system there is load of great games to play.

You are just making a weak fanboy arguement.

Maybe you should buy one? Make up your own mind.

The 360 offers everything i need. The PS3 and 360 share 99% of the same games anyway, why would i need both? To play great games like Lair, Motorstorm, Resistance, and God of War?

No thanks. If i could go back in time and not buy the PS3. I'd do it in a heartbeat, and use the extra money to further upgrade my PC

This nonsense again? I have a PS3 and a 360 and I'm quite happy with both of them thank you. I still use my 360 more than my PS3. This month with Dante's and Heavy Rain has been the most I've used it in quite awhile unless I was watching a movie.

hmm where did you get your information from? you would think it was the other way around seeing as 360 owners have more games to play than ps3 owners.

I bought both systems when they came out and i wish i saved my money and bought it a couple of year later when a good amount of decent games came out and they managed to get to the xbox level of multiplate games. Now the xbox had a good amount of games since relase but was slow last year for exclusives.

Games like mass effect 2 can be played on the PC but i dont have a gaming rig to make it any better than playing it on my xbox.

It's real easy to down play party chat if you don't have it. If you game with a lot of people it is indispensable. It's the main reason most people prefer XBL multiplayer to PSN. Look at multiplatform multiplayer game sales and it's pretty damn obvious.

Nope. If I thought the PS3 was worth the money, I'd buy one.

However, there are only about 3 or 4 games I'm interested in, so what's the point?

There are already more than enough games on the 360 and PC for me. Another console would just be overkill.

How do cows come up with this BS?

EDIT: Also, since when was Bad Company 2 better on the PS3? Proof?

Most people would own a 360, PS3, Wii and a PC if they could afford it, instead of being jealous and making fanboyish posts on SW.

Lol, including Lair is a dirty move, that game suckeeed substructurally.... but Microsoft did take the milky way with all of em accessories. XLive may rocks, but all neat features of PS3 are more favorable to me.

I was going to say Uncharted 1 and 2 but then i'd be called a fanboy for not being in love with Nathan Drake. The PS3 has several exclusives i enjoy, but not enough to justify how much i paid for it, for someone who's buying it for both multiplats and exclusives, it's an excellent console.

let me tell you a story;

i own both a 360 and a ps3 and have done for almost 3 years.i owned the 360 first and got it in 2006. currently i have 7 games for 360 and 2 games for ps3. i'm a bit of a sucker for trading in titles you see so i have owned more games than that but tend to sell games once i complete them. i can afford to buy every game that interests me when they're released but what's strange is that in my time of owning the ps3 i;ve only bought5 games, those being f1 championship, heavenly sword (both bundled with the console when i bought it), mgs4, uncharted and gt5 prologue. i'll admit that i bought the console solely for the exclusives but the turnout of games that have been released is a real disappointment but also testament to the quality of games being released on the xbox coupled with the fact that until recently most of the major multiplats released have been superior on 360.

i feel that the fees for xbl are entirely worth it on 360 and it shows when compared to psn, which i've never been able to play a good game online with

I own a 360 but I don't see myself buying a PS3 any time in the near future. Of the exclusives that it does have, there aren't enough or ones that attract me to shell out for the console. My friend is going to lend me his PS3 after he beats God Of War 3 so I can play it but the God Of War games are really only one play through games and so I after playing it I won't really have any incentive to buy it or play it again in the future.

Or you could of upgraded your pc to begin with, played those same games on the xbox but only much better looking and playing and then got a ps3 down the line to compliment the pc. which imo is the best combination for the most exclusives and bang for your buck.. owning a PC and PS3 gives the most exclusives and games to play. Plus they are both free to play online, offer the most freedom for devs to implement new ideas and have the most features. There is only a few games i can't play, one of which is halo3/odst which frankly i never liked the series and think it is very overrated as i own 1 and 2 on pc and they pale in comparison to pc shooters.

When the 360 launched i didn't understand why any pc gamer would of bought one. Games like Cod2, Oblivion, Graw, and Quake 4 came out for it, but they looked much worse and you had to pay to play online. Why would a pc gamer buy a system that has 90% the same games and they look/play worse and make you pay to play. That never made sense to me. The ps3 though always had games (even in the 2007 year) that were not like anything seen on pc , Games like Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm, Uncharted Drakes Fortune, Warhawk, MGS4, LBP, Gta4 (at the time) these were games that you couldn't play on the pc back when i bought mine, and the list grew and grew.

Lol, wut?

i;ve been able to play, what i think are, good games online using psn. namely mgs4 and fl championship edition. but the way the online aspect of these games are implemented it makes for a very poor experience. i'll focus on f1 ce because i've played that the most but the races are disorganised and unfair, there's a very low online population (mainly because it's a pretty old game but i remember the online being quiet when the game was much newer), and the lack of a microphone being spplied straight out of the box with new ps3's means that there's no atmosphere when playing games online. whatever people say about xbl it will always be more lively because you can actually talk to your oppenents, have a chat, have some banter or share some insults

The money they are paying to set them selves up for a good gaming experience is more than the ps3.

Well an Xbox 360 + chargers + wifi + 1 year XBL is more than a PS3 so I guess thats kind of true, depending on the person's needs that is.

Did you just state that Bad Company 2 looks better on the Playstation 3? Because it doesn't the two versions are identical.

Fact is i prefer 360 exclusives. Therefore no, the PS3 dose not compliment it more. You seem to forget the PS3 and PC share alot of games too, only a few less then the PC and 360 ...

Either way i'd be stuck plaing the same exclusive games im playing now, except i'd miss out on gaming with my xbox Live friends, on games i prefer to play on consoles.

Plus, i bought my 360 atleast a year and a half before the PS3 was even released in europe.

Well an Xbox 360 + chargers + wifi + 1 year XBL is more than a PS3 so I guess thats kind of true, depending on the person's needs that is.

that's an awful argument because not everyone needs wifi or chargers to get the most out of their console. you can buy a wired controller and plug the console into your router using a wire which makes the overall price of the console much cheaper. the problem with the ps3 is that it holds you to ransom with its features. even if you don't need / want wireless you're forced to pay for it. i couldn't care less about blu rayso if there was a cheaper ps3 without the blu ray drive i'd happily have bought that.

When the 360 launched i didn't understand why any pc gamer would of bought one. um GTA 4 came out on PC and there have been loads of games like warhawk, and Superior game editors like LBP.

Whenin doubt play the Wifi card. too bad there are enough of us that don't need Wifi and when we mention it get ignored. WIFI IS NOT MANDATORY.

On Topic, sorry to burst your bubble, but after owning all 3 this gen, I'm getting the best experience out of the 360. I owned a Bluray and see it as a ripoff. I might get a BD Rom for my PC, PSN was a major joke as was most of there higher rated games and the PS3 controller feels like a fragile toy. Most of the PS3 owners I know outside of here only use RROD as a crutch because they know the gaming is better on the 360...

If you can't see the point i made is true then you need to wipe your eyes. Unless you like halo (i can't stand that series) then there really is no reason being a pc gamer to get a 360. As far as freedom for devs... PS3 allows devs to use pc made mods, it also allows for keyboard and mouse controls and enables the devs to launch free expansion paks (unreal 3 did all 3 things and the 360 version got none of it as ms doesn't allow mods, kb/mouse, and doesn't allow free content as they get no cash for it). Couple that what mmo devs are saying about not being able to launch their games on 360 do to the pricing structure. They want people to play them and pay the subscription but for everyone not just gold members, ms doesn't like that at all. uh i don't know...Maybe because I did a ton of research before buying my console. i wasn't even going to get a console, hell I haven't owned one since the ps1 before buying my ps3. I got the psp as a gift and was enamored by the device so much that it got me looking to see what playstation console games were doing, and was loving what i saw. I had friends with the 360 and already knew most of the games they had I had on my pc and i was paying for free. I always do extensive research on what I buy before putting down hundreds of dollars on something. Its the smart thing to do. And frankly i find anyone who just goes out on impulse buying a console without know all the details is just not being very smart at all.

Perfect Dark got a 9 here, unlike your so called quality PS3 launch games. I enjoyed, and still enjoy PDZ, it's far better then Resistance.

Also, GRAW on the PC is nothing like GRAW on the Xbox 360. The 360 version was my first true next gen experiance, and it was excellent.

Games like Dead or Alive were not on PC too, and are still excellent to this day, face it, you don't know enough about the Xbox to bash it, whereas i own a PS3 and can make up a valid opinion of it.

heavenly sword, warhawk, uncharted, lbp, infamous, god of war are not PS style games ...

Heavenly Sword is a hack and slash game, every console has them, as do the PC.

Warhawk? LOL, It's a poor mans battlefield, with a poor flight sim tacked on

Uncharted is a third person shooter, the PC has these, it nothing comparted to Max Pain.

LBP is a platformer, every console has these, the PC has TONS of indy games just like this.

God of War? See Heavenly sword.

And before you ask, i own all the games mentioned, and will show you my PSN ID if you don't believe me.

The multiplats the 360 and PC share may be better on the PC, but surely someone who claims to be playing multiplatform games on their PS3, as opposed to the PC will know that sometimes, you don't want them on the PC

All of those games you mentioned are fromm 2007 and 2008 those are not "launch games"

360: 191 exclusives

PS3: 155 exclusives

The 360 has more exclusives then the PS3, more games that are not on the PC or the PS3, deal with it

LWhen already being a pc gamer why would i buy a system that has 95% of the same games and makes you pay to play online. If you can't see the point i made is true then you need to wipe your eyes.Midnightshade29
and yet those 5% are still more then the PS3 has to offer in terms of cold hard numbers. This is a fact, not an opinion

Unless you like halo (i can't stand that series) then there really is no reason being a pc gamer to get a 360.Midnightshade29

Except for metal gear solid (I can't stand the series) there is no reason being a PC gamer to get a PS3

"As far as freedom for devs... PS3 allows devs to use pc made mods it also allows for keyboard and mouse controls"

And how many games use it? 1?

"free expansion paks (unreal 3 did all 3 things and the 360 version got none of it as ms doesn't allow mods, kb/mouse, and doesn't allow free content as they get no cash for it)"

a lot of games on XBL give out free content, from expansions to map packs

"Couple that what mmo devs are saying about not being able to launch their games on 360 do to the pricing structure."

And yet none of these devs are actually making games for the PS3

"They want people to play them and pay the subscription but for everyone not just gold members, ms doesn't like that at all. Tell me where you can find heavenly sword, warhawk, uncharted, lbp, infamous, god of war like games on the pc? these aren't typical pc ****games...they are PlayStation ****games."

Heavenly sword? Devil may cry 4 in on the PC

Warhawk? a online shooter? gee... I wonder where I can find that?

Infamous? Prototype

God of war? Devil may cry 4

Uncharted? a shooter? gee... where can I find that on the PC

i'll give you LBP though

I like how you missed my point entirely (not to mention i didn't say there weren't other games in the same genre on the 360, but not the same games. Saying there are games like god of war on the 360 doens't mean god of war is on the 360. why would i want an lesser game when i get the real deal? ) My point was is that I was already a PC gamer, I compared the near launch games of both consoles (that i saw interesting, lair and perfect dark zero excluded as they both suck) and the 360 games were all on the PC but looked better , had better controls, and were free to play. The games on the PS3 were not on the PC at all. So why would you compare the two consoles when i was talking strickly as a pc gamer. Sure the 360 may be a great console for someone who doesn't already game on pc, I will admit that, but for a pc gamer it is not imo.

I would have to get pretty rich to decide to throw money at a PS3, considering I only want two games for it (MGS4 and GoW3).....

I love my 360 and am very happy I threw down the money on it. I much prefer paying for XBL with what I saw of PSN (my old roomate got a PS3 a couple months before we moved out).

People forget that we pay for XBL because it is by far the best online experience there is. I even prefer it to my PC gaming days (granted WoW was mucho fun and so was UT2004).

Left 4 Dead 1 is like my all-time fav multiplayer game and probably one of the best gaming experiences I have ever had and I preferred to stay on the 360 with that one because of XBL, even though I DID want to experience the custom maps and mods.

Untill you get on XBL you can't understand just how the experience trumps other online experiences.

I said near launch games... And no these games you can't find on pc , sure there may be console ports on pc like dmc4, but thats not gow, why would i want dmc4 when I want to play Gow1-3? There is no game that is like uncharted on pc, and why would i want a different 3rd person shooter when I want Uncharted. My point stands that these games are not on the pc but the 360 games are, how hard is this to understand? As a PC gamer it was an easy decision, get the console that shared most of the same games or the one that had a number of games that looked and played great and weren't on the pc? As for the freedom thing, I could care less if it was only one game, it doesn't matter, it's still a valid point. If a dev wants to do so they can, and they can't on the 360. Why can't you guys accept this stuff? Look I am not saying the 360 is a bad console. For a non pc gamer it could be a great thing as it offers pc games on it too. But as a traditional PC gamer who is looking for a console to compliment their rig the ps3 is the better value.

The games on the PS3 were not on the PC at all. So why would you compare the two consoles when i was talking strickly as a pc gamer. Sure the 360 may be a great console for someone who doesn't already game on pc, I will admit that, but for a pc gamer it is not imo. Midnightshade29
