I thought they were still offering a form of LAN, but through battlenet?

if its through the Bnet its not lan After the backlash they received from their "no lan"comments blizard have been looking to create a steam like model in which you have to validate your account through battlenet and after that can play locally without the need of any remaining internet connection. as they are looking into it i will too, but till the game comes out and i know there is a lan option the game is still trash in my eyes... i may be a fickle consumer but its my right as a consumer
I bought SC 5 or 6 years ago and I didn't enjoy it. (and that was when I was a huge fan of the rts genre :P)SparkyProtocol

I gave it time and I still disliked it. I like WC3, though, when it comes to Blizzard RTS games. I'm happy you aren't attacking me.
It's all good dude, I'm playing SC for mostly the single player anyway, I've become so out of touch with RTS MP I don't think I could get back as good as I was :(

Same. I feel that RTS MP requires alot of dedication. Atleast more so than FPS for example. It is too much for me these days.

At the moment with LAN it's my most anticipated game of the year, there is nothing that beats playing Starcraft with friends and family. But if by release they still haven't made any progress I won't be getting it.

Yeah, LAN never gets old. IDK why they can't have you play offline like the why Steam does it.
