I think Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation takes the cake for bias... but that's kind of expected, it's fair though because to him everything is a piece of crap EDIT: woh woh woh, hold up, in the review I just noticed some MP maps that were just released (at least on the Xbox 360) not too long ago, but here he's playing this waaaay before that, is that like a PC thing or did they get some of these maps later too, I also notice with different day/night settings anyhow, I don't see what's bias about it, mind pointing it out to melamprey263

Yahtzee proffessonal? Lol.

GAMETRAILERS, I wouldnt call em bias, just inconsistant.

They bang on all day about linearity and about doing something new, but as soon as a halo or COD game pops its head those rules go out the window.

Lol beat me to it.. When they went on that rant about uncharted, and the reviewer said No im sorry a 9.3 is the highest score a game like uncharted is going to get when it doesnt do anything unique or new. And I was like ok, I agree valid point, I love uncharted 2 but that is a legitamit complaint. But then he reviewed MW2 and gave it a 9.5!!!! WTF.. Talk about being a hypocrit. I swear reviewers were scared.. SCARED to score that game anything lower than that..

He isn't biased. He hates everything equally. Now if he hated on some random stuff for no reason, that would indicate bias, but save for a few oddball games he hates everything.

It should be noted the games he actually loves.

Killer 7, No More Heroes, Bioshock, Silent Hill 2 and Portal. Believe it or not these things do happen!

My opinion on a good reviewer isn't if he/she is biased for a system of genre but how good he/she can explain why a game got the score it was given.

A lot of people who scream "bias!" to any random reviewer often only care about the score of the game. I care about the actual review. If the reviewer can point out in the review why he/she have given or taken away points to a game I'm fine with the review.

Famously hated reviews like Twilight Princess by Gerstmann or Metroid Prime 3 by VanOrd are IMO perfectly done as they fully explain why the games got the scores they did.

Another thing I don't understand is when people are disappointed with a score and takes out any random quote and puts it out of context from the review and uses that as justification to claim the review invalid. Example: Shing Megami Tensei: Strange Journey on the DS earlier this year.

I find Gamespot Reviews to be the least professional, and amateurish. but I haven't read one in almost two years, so it may be differentNuck81
Nah. IGN took that crown a long time ago. GS might be bad but for however bad GS is IGN is worse. Both are bad in the end though. They may get a lot of traffic on their sites but as far reviews go they are the worse. If you simply want news and perhaps previews they are okay as they are in the pocket of many publishers.
