Most disappointing game this gen?

MGS4 Single player, GTA 4and Sports/wrestling games this gen for me.

I don't know. Maybe The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

I was expecting a lot from the successorof The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. The visuals were very impressive back them and It was fun for a while, until I released most of the gameplay was dumbed down for the people who are not used/doesn't like RPGs. I've tried playing Oblivion a couple of times, even with mods, but I couldn't finish the game because of the terrible level scaling, the unninteresting story and the feeling of emptiness while exploring Cyrodiil.

I don't know if it's the best but I definitely love it. It uses the formula most theme songs should follow but don't always do so--simple, with a catchy rythm that continuously stays as its foundation. The first time you hear it, it simply stays in your mind and never lets go.

Then you have theme songs that have all these flashy instruments running all over the place, you end up hearing it, and it may sound alright, but you can't in any way shape or form repeat it unless you hear it a few more times... that's really the basic difference between the two and where their level of quality lies...

Ohh, right, thread about disappointing games... meh, that music is awesome.

Lair. I didnt even try it till after the control patch and I found it terrible.

FFXIII. I grew up playing amazing square rpgs so anything FF is an insta buy for me, sadly I had to push myself to finish the game.

Halo 3. Loved halo 1/2 but after going to the midnight launch of h3, I played it for 2 hours and didnt touch it for a week, felt like that magic was missing to me.

Resident Evil 5. What a piece of **** that is compared to the glorious number four.

final fantasy 13 I wanted to like it so bad but it was just so awful to me personally...

No, Killzone was really generic and i didnt like the greyness/art style.

Gears of War, only thing it had going for it was blood which i dont care for, story was told horribly compared to the book.

I hear the episodes are better but I don't know. Should I? Shouldn't I?

Considering I loved the franchise and that one killed my interest, oh yeah, definitely my most disappointing game this gen.

Ah the memories. I honestly think that song will stay with me forever.

As for most dissappointing game this gen I'm going with something a bit out of left field, Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway. I absolutely loved the first two, especially the first. The series brought with it a new way to play tactical shooters and an unforgiving look at the brutality of war, not to mention some interesting multiplayer ideas. After watching many a video up till release, I was super hyped for HH.

Then you actually play the game. It gives off a good first impression, as the early missions are pretty good but later levels are just so uninspired. The story was terrible as it relied to heavily on the story from past games. I played through the first two a couple of times and I still didn't get what the hell (unintended pun :D) was going on in HH. Not to mention the game was just a glitch and bug ridden mess, especially the multiplayer. God, the MP was by far the glitchest, lagfest of a game that I have ever played. Sigh...

Gearbox says the story for BiA is finished yet so here's hoping the next one will be better.

The force unleashed.....i just thought the game would be awesome but it wasn't at all.....the slasher genre has nothing but God of war and other cloned games. Its sad cause the genre had some of my favorite games....like dark alliance 2 for ps2.

Resident Evil 5 was also disappointing for me. I liked the first three chapters, but the chapters that followed were annoying and terrible. I also didn't like the co-op was forced.

It is nothing compared to SC2 IMO. Can't believe I wasted 70 CND $ on it.

Resi 5 (beat it only online threw co-op) had to force myself to beat it so I could unlock mercenaries which is disapointing as well.

GTA 4 - cannot believe how dissapointed i was with this game. Maybe I'm just grown up but my friends a hardcore gta fan and he loved it. I thought it was boring as hell. stopped playing after first couple of missions.

MGS4 : tried the demo and didn't enjoy it at all. Watched all the cutscenes on youtube.

Metroid: Other M - didnt have fun with this one at all. don't know what it was. ended up watching cutscenes for this one as well.

Super mario bros wii - Im glad i didnt buy this.

Motion plus.

too human. i really wanted that game to be great. just didn't pan out.

Fable 2. Dx... I was SO looking forward to buying it. And now I never play it.. and dreaded playing it for multiplayer..

Hmm I got a couple:

Fable III - Same engine as Fable II, More glitchy, newbified even more, less options with certain things.

MGS IV - flameshield, I just thought after the reviews I would love it and I didn't. I see why people like it, I just didn't.
