This isnt a question of graphics or quality... But which game is the most EPIC?

This doesn't mean that it has the most people on screen at once... But it immersed you in the world in a way that dropped your jaw, and had a feeling of massive scope.

For me, it would have to be World of Warcraft. 40 man raids are incredibly epic, and getting 3 full raids to completely destroy an enemy city is something that is indescribable.

On top of that, the end game bosses in WoW (especially before BC came out) were incredibly massive.

They were also extremely challenging... With each one requiring a completely different strategy... Even with a full 40 people many of the bosses are nearly impossible, but people manage to succeed against all odds. It's truly epic.

That game wasn't all that Epic...

All the bosses were 1v1 (except the very end), and no matter how big they were, WoW still has bigger bosses.

SotC was definitely epic, but not THAT epic.

While the number of enemies doesn't matter all that much, 1v1 is nothing...

Like, SotC had such a crappy frame rate and chugging graphics that it broke the illusion.

Zelda games = epic.

Now if Bandai made "The World" for the PC, THAT would be an epic game.

Too many to name. Most of them 2d and early from the 3d era, still some gems from last gen like Colossus like many have said and from the same people as well like ICO. WoW I agree as well..... While it could be far away from my favorites, it still offers a sence of more immersion for me then many or quite frankly any of the next gen titles I´ve seen or played.

~-~Ok, first here's my opinion of epic. It all depends on 3 things. How hard you're working, for what, and how emotionally strenuous it is. So Shadow of the Colossus gets my vote. Yea it's one on one, but never have I gotten tired from a video game. When you need to climb and climb over and over again I got tired just watching it. It's not the number of things your fighting or how big they are but how much effort you need to put into it. And when you fall down in a video game what do you do? You tap whatever button over and over again thinking, "com on, just get up already." In SotC the thought crossed my mind of, "... I could just lay here and give up... Just die and all this would be over... No more pain, no more exhaustion, it'd just all stop." No other game made me think ANYTHING even CLOSE to that. And then why he didn't give up. (besides the fact the game doesn't let you) He's not doing all this for himself, he doesn't even give a damn about himself, that's why we don't know his name. And he's not doing it to save the world either, that's something you have to do if you can. He's doing it all for her, that's all he cares about. That's a few reasons I think SotC is the most epic game ever. I haven't read any books or seen any movies that pass it up either. There's more like how it perfectly mixed the feeling of awe and fear but I don't want to type all that and some of it would spoil the game for people who haven't played it. But the whole thing just absorbed every thought and emotion in me for at least a day.~-~ ~-~Added: And when I mean "emotionally strenuous" I don't mean a little depressing. I mean I should want to just get on my knees pull my hair and scream at the top of my lungs before curling up on the ground and crying my face off... Or feel like that's what I would do if I were them... and sorry for the large post.~-~

All games fail in comparison to halo in terms of epicness. This is most evident when you reach the last level and hear that ghostly chant while the camera sweeps across the horse you rode on "the pillar of autumn".

IMO, Shadow of the Colossus just screams epic. I still think that game was robbed of AAA.

Other games include:
Zelda: OOT
Baten Kaitos- I wish people would give this game a try. I think it is sad it goes unnoticed.
FFX
Metroid Prime

~-~That's why I said it's my opinion. I like that feeling. (does that make me emo?) Of course I'm still trying to figure out what "epic" truly is. It's one of those words like art that seam to change from person to person. Cuz from how some people use it shouldn't this be epic...~-~
~-~It has a lot of huge things fighting and stuff, this is one of the most epic things in the world right? And I'll edit the S word out of it in a second.>.>...~-~
It's because everyone is afraid to mention Halo because they are afraid people will bash them, but I give you props for doing it, Halo deserves a say in this, especially The Silent Cartographer (sp?)
