It's really fun when you get a group of friends only, because then you don't have to wait in the lobbies, but I still barely touched it. Red Dead Redemption did a much better job with the online.

And I'm with ya, GTA is my absolute favorite series, no game gets me more excited than a new GTA game 8)

Portal 2 or CoD4 its a hard tie up for me i love both of them :( CoD4 was just amazing back in the day and still is split screen....toying with the idea of buying it for my 360 for the sheer hell of it xD.

Mass Effect 2 for me.

ExciteBots: Trick Racing on Wii for me. That game has fun packed into every square inch of it. A video game through and through.

Although Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a very close second.

Sin & Punishment: Star Successor, Bayonetta, Vanquish, Portal 2, ESPGaluda II Black Label, Hat Fortress 2, and No More Heroes.

Halo's & co-op Crackdown was LMAO fun and Banjo N&B and playing some but mostly for me watching people play Kinect games is up there as well for some LOL too :P but really, there are so many I couldn't name just one or even one dozen as the list would go on & on.8)

Halo 3 when all my friends played it. It was so funny when we lost, we would crucify the guy/guys who went negative. It was also fun trashing talking after a win begging the team to stay so we can do it again.

Gears 1 and MAG get honorable mentions.

Most fun to play? Thats easy:

1) Uncharted 2

2) God of War 3

.................noting gets close to those 2 in terms of pure fun, they were both absolute blast to play, but we have to name the third, right?

3) Red Steel 2

EDIT: That was singleplayer - most fun multiplayer is:

1) Team Fortress 2

2) Lost Planet 2 coop on the hardest difficulty with good team mates - LP2 is actually VERY underrated, its just not good for singleplayer

3) Starcraft 2 (its extremely hectic and adrenaline to play 1v1)

Gotta say GTA IV.

Aside from the phone calls and stupid parlor games.

Altho from a design standpoint it's like "Hey Niko wanna go to a club?" NO. Wait...there's clubs? Yeah let's go see it.

The parlor games made the world seem more alive, but I wish it was more like earlier GTA where the "minigames" were things like driving a taxi, fire truck, planes, jumping dirt bikes on the beach, etc.

I still say the Vice City model was the best.

But yeah GTA IV was a blast.

I tried Saints Row 2, it was at the same time "more" GTA than GTA but it was silly and stupid, and the driving wasn't fun. It was too "on a rail."

My "most fun" game this generation is tough because "fun" to me means I didnt want to put the controller down, I HAD to see what was next... given that, Id say the 3 assassin creed games (and a big reason is i literally NEVER get tired of climbing and interacting with the environment), The Mass Effect games, because my shepard is the greatest thing to come out of this generation and I wanted to take the story and the character further and further, RDR, because even off mission I loved collecting all the challenges etc and Fallout 3, because every little area on that massive map was a new experience to discover and learn about...

And GTA IV is still my favorite in the series, ahead of San Andreas.

Oblivion for me or maybe WoW now I think about it, Im not playing WoW any more but I can't deny the hours of entertainment it did give me. I think Oblivion must have been better though because it didn't have people to chat to and mess about with to keep me coming back.

the weird thing is that GTA4 was the least fun i had ever playing a game

BUT

the weirdest part was that i enjoyed it a lot

I was frustrated with the missions and mechanics half the time, but i loved the story so much, i had to get through it and it was a great experience. Its my least favorite game that i JUST HAD TO play :P

i mean, usually when a game bores me to death (halo 3 singleplayer, uncharted, metal gear solid 4) i quit within the first hour or two and never look back. But gta4 pissed me off so much, yet i had to play it. It was so engaging.

Super Mario Galaxy 2. The game I've played that's closest to entertainment perfection.

I put hundreds of hours into Pokemon Diamond and had a blast with it.
