I will have to say Red Dead Redemption. I mean, that world has its own ecosystem and food chain. The whole structure and layout is very diverse and detailed.

If you're going with that, I think I'll have to agree.

Just what I was going to say.
I am playing the game right now and while its a great world, it seems (3 hours in) that it is an incredibly repetitive world. Does this change at all?
I would have to say that its between Ocarina of Time, San Andreas, Super Metroid, Metroid Prime, and Tales of Symphonia in terms of what I have played. Hmm so many more too lol. Its really hard. Not oblivion or Fallout that is for damn sure :x

ust edit yor post, man.I should accommodate to him changing the thread topic for what reason?GreenGoblin2099
Fallout 3, New Vegas, Zelda games and Bioshock. All of these are near perfect games though. MRBUCKMASTER
NOOOOO, how can a fellow Zelda fan feel that Fallout 3 (and presumably NV) is near perfect and has one of the best game worlds? I am sad now lol.

Well, you have a point there... but whatever man, like SW threads didn't deviate the whole time, so don't lose your cool over such a trivial matter.

lol man, there both amazing game worlds! Why wouldn't i be allowed to like them? SW rules? :PLol obviously I am picking, but I just find Oblivion and Fallout 3 to have incredibly dull worlds after you play for a couple hours. They are SUPER repetitive and bland. Zelda is the opposite, as they mix it up with the different cultures and such. I hear Morrowind (TeS3 I think) has much better and extremely unique environments. Bioshock I am playing right now and it has a great world, but it also seems repetitive when compared to games like Metroid Prime.
Since the topic has changed, then there is no contest here. The most open world there is, is OUT DOORS :)
It has no loading screens between regions, no frame rate issues no matter how much distance traversed or objects in field, and absolutely the best draw distance there is. Also the most realistic HDR lighting. Only draw backs are no respawning or instant transport portals between hubs :P

"open" wasn't in the title when this thread started.
Morrowind, without a doubt. In a game with so many different races and cultures, it's interesting to see actual racism. Talk about attention to detail! Of course, that's not the only great thing about the game world. I just think that it's interesting and it makes the world seem more real and much darker.

Bah. It's in 3D, and we all know 3D is a gimmick.
He said "open world" game not "linear walk in a straight line doing the same thing over and over again" game[QUOTE="millerlight89"]Bioshock (Rapture)AL_GREEN
Care to read thought the whole thread before saying something??

Yeah yeah, they said the same about motion controls, and OUT DOORS has 1:1 full body motion tracking!
Red Dead is fantastic with the detail and immersiveness, but I vote Far Cry 2. You can hate it for many reasons, but the fantastic first person animations coupled with the beautiful environments make it one of the most immersive and detailed games out there.
Final Fantasy XIII. Beautiful, what else can i say?bbkkristian
Pulse or walking in a straight line for 3/4 of the game?
