I agree with the OoT choice. 75% of player reviews here on GS are Perfect. The game is not perfect in any way. It has faults and did not live up to A Link to the Past in my opinion. At most the game should have been rated a 9.8 back in the day. The game has aged and it shows it. Some games like Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Metroid, A Link to the Past, Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger have not.

Look, those who know me from my days chilling on all of the FF forums as possible here on gamespot last year would know that I'm a huge FF junkie, but FF7 was not what people say it is. Seriously, it was good, easy, with a great story and some very cool characters, but FF6 was a better game and I felt that FF7 was the start of something that seemed to end with FF8, the fun just was sucked out of it. It was just gloomy, no real humor built by atmosphere, no shining light outside of a dead flower girl...FF9 brought that back and 10 did a great job of it with Tidus.....
Oh I'm just ranting here, FF7 by far. FF12 not too far behind.

Many games do "age." Their gameplay just doesn't live on through the generations. New things have come along and started new and refreshing trends. Many older games that have not "aged" can be picked up down the line and played again (like the examples I listed). OoT has not aged so considerably that no one could pick it up today but it has aged enough that it does not feel the same as it did back in the day.
I played OoT around when it came out, I was impressed. It was a good adventure game. Even then I did not feel that it was as fun as A Link to the Past. But I couldn't tell you then and I doubt I could tell you now why that is. I did recently however try picking up the game again (almost a year ago now I think), I failed to get past the first dungeon. The game did not feel the same as it did those many years ago. I guess that is what I mean by "it has aged."
It is all completely my opinion of course and would not reflect anyone else's experience with game. I just feel that the incredible amounts of "prefects" it receives rated by today's standards, or those of 1998, to be a tad much.
OoT still holds more appeal than lots of games today for me:)
but i'm gonna say Gears of War, to short, not many weapons, pretty pathetic story, no character descritionif you ask me. 9.6 how did they get that? more like a AA game to me.

Compared to Morrowind its the worst RPG I've ever played. It was actually very linear there were no TRUE choices just alot of space to travel in. There was no depth to any of the combat and everything leveled up with so you could be champion of the arena at level 1 -_-. Oblivion was a great action game but a horrible RPG.
I don't know why people actually like the first Halo campaign, it is the single most boring crapfest I've ever played. With a braindead story, shallow characters and dull gameplay.
But to be like everybody else i will name a game HALO... i played it on pc and xbox ( HALO 2 )and it was not that good to me timesplitters 1-3 was the better console shooter last gen.

SIze Matters has spot on controls. If you were going to complain about that game, then you should have complained about the camera system, not the controls which are excellent.
Im going to say ocarina of time... I mean its great for its time... But people are still saying its better the the games today.... I dont know about that...Magical_Donuts
its not that, but you compare it to its time, and how good it was than, no game is that good in todays time, so, its not that its 'better' but its 'unsurpased' in terms of more current games climbign as high on the respect and awsomeness meters

Everyone who has a hard on for only their console is naming the other consoles exclusive best selling games to make themselves feel better. What has happened to accepting games for the quality of them, not what console they just happen to be on.
Halo2. Not halo1. Loved halo1. Not so much of halo2 though. It didnt have a SP. In all honesty. I would have to say Gears of War. I loved it for about 3 months. Then it didnt appeal to me as much as it did in the beginning. I would still say its AAA but not a 9.6 AAA.Killfox

Please 4-6 hours. Yeah if you played it on casual. No i take that back it would still take you atleast 10 hours to beat it on casual. Try playing it on insane. Its insane.

Well saying from last gen as in ps2 gc and xbox. Which ps2 shooter game or gc shooter game was better than halo?
My thoughts exactly! It's not like Halo had any competition in the first place. The only competition it has was PC and people decided to ignore them.
Ya I agree cause really, xbox has good shooters. Ps2 doesnt have any good shooters although ps3 had resistance which was good and gc has like no shooters
