Most overrated game music

I haven't actually heard much of FF music but since so many people like it it hasto be overrated. The other 2 I hear so much praise for but it's really bad. Both have some decent songs here and there but it's 90% crap IMO, what do you think?

Most definitely Final Fantasy...I've never found any Final Fantasy music (except Final Fantasy 13) to be particularly compelling at all.

Also: I've never liked Dragon Quest music.

Yeah.. most of Marty's work is just "alright." I would certainly *not* rank him up there with people like Mitsuda or Soule. Not that his work is bad.. I just don't think it's all that great.

thats well written thats the best laugh it was a good little song, its reminicent of to zanarkand from FFX.

Oh wait its sniper notorious FPS lover and JRPG hate my bad this post makes sense.

Anyway i agree with Halo,1 great song and nothing else.

it had a couple good ones but nothing will ever compare to how epic MGS2 was, the dead cell theme, the main theme,the alert song aswell were all just immensely well done.MGS4 to be brutally honest in comparrison to 2 and 3 is pretty unremarkable or memorable.

I wouldn't call it overrated but I see a lot of praise on these boards saying the music is awesome.
It isn't.

i've not listened to it or thrown it in my iTunes yet as i had pretty much a total and massive catastrophic F up of my library and im slowly reconverting a lot of songs for my iPod.Converting like 3k songs is not fun after i've done that i'll most likely give it a run on my iPod (when i get it later in the week as its my birthday on monday but im not actually all that botheed bout getting it early).

I didn't say older ones had better versions. Stop bringing my feelings towards MGS4 from another thread into this one. It doesn't apply

Also there is a reason not many people mention MGS for the music from any of the games is because it just doesn't have the excellent track after track selection most soundtracks do. Its good and fits the game but its largely very forgettable. Games like SOTC, God of War, FF and Zelda etc. have music mentioned in their reviews because it really sticks with you and is very memorable. The MGS games only have a few good tunes on them and its the main theme that everyone knows. MGS3 was the only other game with a track you remember because it was very cheesy and jame Bond-ish.

Take off your MGS goggles for god's sake. Your Avatar and Sig yet again are like a beacon for your favouritism of the series. A person who truly loves a game and its series are able to point out its flaws too. Not just constantly praise every aspect of it

Heck. Even some of their unknown songs are amazing (peril btw).

Now in terms of underrated. Uncharted 2 probably has the best soundtrack this gen.

SOTC. To be honest, I thought the whole game wasn't good.
