As a major fan of Morrowind and the Elder Scrolls in general, I enjoyed Oblivion. The mage powers are fun.

Sure, being able to cast spells without putting away your weapon was a great improvement.
It's a shame, however, that they decided to severely nerf spells, spell-making and enchanting...making it just another example of Bethesda's "make the game more streamlined, at the expense of depth and complexity" approach to developing games.
Am I the only one that thinks that COD4 deserved a higher score than what it got? I mean the single player was short, but the multiplayer is award winning. I mean, I've never been that tuned into a single game for so long. How could you better spend $60?
I mean there are games that have one amazing something, like MGS4 for story and singleplayer, but MGO is a big time iffy add on. 10? When COD4 that has replay value out the wazoo gets a 9.0? There is something wrong there. The single player, while short, is very good. The MP is out of this world. Those that disagree likely don't enjoy online games or FPS. If you are into FPS and playing online COD4 is pretty much a no brainer. It's on PS3, 360, and PC too so just about anyone can play it.

those and the biggest of them all MGS4. that game deservs nothing of the praise it recives. oh and oblivion was crap too.
[QUOTE="Gamerboi27"][QUOTE="jbz7890"]Bioshock is the most overrated game of all time imo.
MGS4 is also pretty overrated on Gamespot, but gamerankings has it at a reasonable score.

have u played mgs? LOL
Have you played any xbox 360 games? I say MGS4 is overrated because it got a 10 on gamespot, but its Gamerankings score is 92.7. Even Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 (the most debatable 10 on GS) is higher than that.
Dude how is MGS4 overrated when most reviewers and users who actually played the game agree it deserved its score? I am not saying any game is perfect but if there is any game that deserved that score out of gears, halo 3, cod4, gta4 and mgs4. MGS4 deserves it most because it delivers on all phases of the game, from awesome graphics to awesome sound, to awesome gameplay and gives u an epic ending to one of gamings most beloved Icons, "Solid Snake" giving him an epic farewell which I believe is one of the greatest endings I have ever played for solid snake. Unlike masterchief who was supposingly finishing the fight, was the worst endings I ever played and the story was mediocre, and I truelly believe the first halo was an amazing game and it shouldve ended there just for the fact that 2 and 3 did not live up to its hype. Same goes with gears of war which was truelly an amazing game gameplay wise and had great online but thats about it. Story was mediocre and short. Hopefully 2 doesnt follow the first ones footsteps. Call of duty 4 had pretty good single player but was short. And the online is where it really shines but ill take COD4 over halo 3 and Gears just for the fact that the single player was good and the online was fun as hell.MGS4 single player was just amazing and epic and a masterpiece. And I love the fact how gamespot and IGN and Famitsu and Gamepro reviewed it based on its single player because that is how u are suppose to review a game. The game should be an epic expirience with the single player, and online multiplayer is just an added bonus for fans to get more replay value, and that is why I totally agree with gamespot, ign, famitsu and gamepro's reviews because a game should be based on its single player first which is the most important part in a game, and anything online with multiplayer is secondary and an added bonus feature with replay value for fans of the series to enjoy more of the game which I am doing now and having a blast on MGO. It deserved its score more then any of those other games and remember 10 doesnt have to mean it is perfect, it just means that the game delivered so much and set the bar to a new standards, it was given that score for a good reason. I dont think it would get that score if gamespot or ign or famitsu or gamepro if they didnt think that the game is one of the greatest games of all time, which I believe it deserves that aswell. I can say now that it aint the best game ive played but its right up there in my top 3 best games of all time ive ever played in my 21 years of gaming. Thats just how amazing the game is.
MGS Bore I mean 4....AlphaGamer469
You might as well hold up a big sign that says "I haven't played MGS4!".
halo 3

gta4
make a poll with a few choices and you will probably see that a lot of people agree with me on brawl

geez, who are you trying to convince, him or yourself?
Gears of War. To me, it was boring, bland and short.
Halo 3 was another one. By the way, I'm not into online multiplayer, so both games were real disappointments.
Bioshock is a runner up. I was extremely hyped for the game, and in the end the enemies felt boring, the atmosphere was nonexistent, and the story was somewhat good. Though the gaps in between the story and gameplay make it unbearable. It's my greatest disappointment of all time.
Sigh, oh well:(
MGS4 and Halo 3.
Both terrible games, covered up with a well know licence and fanboys defendinfg their every move.
I think Super Smash Bros Brawl is a bit overatted I own the game and I actually liked Super Smash Bros Melee better.
I would also say Halo 3 and GTA4.

Omg. You must hate gaming and are Jack Thompson in disguise. Please report me since I have uttered the greatest insult possible to a gamer.

[QUOTE="Shinobishyguy"][QUOTE="krp008"]Also SSBB. Played it a few times at a friends house and it isnt anything to brag about really. It takes SOME strategy i guess, but overall its a very shallow game with little replay valuethe-very-best
.
I'd say it's overrated too. 9.5 is the same score as SMG and SMG is noticeably better imo. I haven't played either game in depth though so I guess I should hold off on saying that...
Before any calls me anti-sheep, I also think GTAIV/MGSIV are overrated.
But really, SSBB is not the most overrated game this gen. People need to play Oblivion, then go look at the score. Insane.
I agree. SSBB is more of a 9.0 game than a 9.5. But to say that it has no replayability is like saying that fishes don't swim.Well uh to start
1. Movie Game Solid 4- more cut-scenes than gameplay
2. Any game with an Italian Plumber
3. GTA IV- easiest game in the series
ocinom
to be honest, if gears had a good story, and it had like 20 games before it, and if the last one had loads of cutscenes to round off its brilliant story with characters who are origional and likable (unlike a jock space marine) you'd expect Cliffy B to round off the story well and provide a big blooming button saying "SKIP" if u don't want to see them, which happens to be in MGS4.
Metal Gear solid 4 , awsome experience but not a 10. a Game that is 10 is considered perfect in all parts... I can tell you that MGO is not near perfect in any departmeant. You beat Metal gear solid 4 2-3 times and that is bassically it. It is not as fun to beat the game e second time when you allready have followed the story and know what is going the happend. No great multiplayer = never a 10 in score. The Singelplayer game itself dosnt deserv a 10 imo since it is not perfect. Dont say I havent played the game I have beat all Metal gear solid games including NES and Portable ops. Imo this game is on bar with what Metal gear solid 2 was when it was realesed. I honestly enyojed MGS2 more then 4 even though you had to play as Raiden for the most part of the game and swordfighting big boss was one of the sweetest moments. I dont know why I am not as amazed with this game as everyone else , it might be since i have played all the other games and even tough some new great gameplay elements were added it was too mutch like the rest of the metal gears and i expected more. I do understand that those people who play metal gear solid 4 as their first MGS game thinks its so epic and awseomse but really all metal gears was.

COD4-Shallow story, hugely over rated graphics, difficulty is determined by the endless waves of dumb-as-hell eneimes that just charge at you and throw a million grenades every two seconds, multiplayer gets old after a while.
Bioshock-A truely fantastic game the first time, very uninteresting the second time.
MGS4-Same case as Bioshock. The multiplayer is also forgetable.
Crysis- Truely incredible for the firsthalf, god awful for the final half, poor multiplayer, has one of the worst endings in any video game ever, crappy-as-hell story and narrative.
SSB Brawl-Gets old after a few days, the single player section is truely awful in just about every aspect, they don't even radomise the opponents between stages. Come on, I'm bloody tired of fighting Zelda/Link on the TP map followed by Donkey and Diddy on their respective map. Is it so hard to just, you know, have different levels and characters each time, LIKE EVERY OTHER FIGHITNG GAME IN HISTORY? The multiplayer is alsocompletely brokenin every aspect. When it is working it's essentially like playing a ridiculously laggy Brawl mode on a higher difficulty only you waited half an hour to set it u.

Whats upp with them , I havent played Chrono Trigger and if you are talking about LOZ:OOT for N64 that game could be conisdered perfect , since back in the days there was no multiplayer and the game itself was LARGE. It took some hours to beat that game. and it was the first real 3d Zelda game. It was mutch more revolutionary compared to the zeldas before it then metal gear is compared to Metal gear 3 and 2...
I think people who call Bioshock or MGS4 overrated are the type of gamers who don't pay attention the storyline and skip cutscenes just to shoot/kill people.
IMO so far, GTA4, Assassin Creed, and Halo 3.
peacenutman
Story is a big thing in my games and yet I still found Bioshock to be overrated. The whole experience just didn't click with me; gameplay, storytelling, the ending (good), it just didn't click.
