A means to survive is totally different than luxury items. I guess I'm just surprised that you are trying to compare food, water, and shelter to luxury items such as games. If for me to be happy is the highest amount of money possible, should I just go print some off?

Luxury items are physical--a jet, a yacht, a really nice apartment--but all video games are digital files.
They can be copied a million times by average, ordinary people and still provide the exact same experience as the original.

I guess I just know a lot of people who pirate stuff all the time...they can save up to buy a $200 console but they can't afford to drop $50/$60 every time a new release they want to play comes out.
They could just rent the game...but at the end of the day, renting is the same thing as piracy to the developers in terms of profits lost, just on a smaller scale.
People only pirate because it's more convenient, faster, and cheaper than renting.

I buy all of my games though, because I have the means to do so and I really like supporting developers, even though I despise the concept of "money."
Yeah the concept of money and the idea behind it regarding the ideas of the Fed and debt aren't exactly my favorite things in the world either. Developing countries is one thing (perhaps), but when you see average Joe crying about new game release price, those things go down eventually. Lot of times it comes down to being frugal and being patient. Renting still gave money to the publishers, since they worked out a deal with the renting companies.
