it was hyped AA and so was VF5 because it didnt have online and whatnot. thats damage control or you are just lost. the only people hyping AAA was the crazy fanboys like 2 or 3 cows you base expectations of hundreds of people from 2 or 3 crazy fanboys ? what about bullet witch it was hyped A-AA now thats massive ownage. VF5 really did have AAA hype. people just chicked out at the last minute. before the scoring, Cows were unified with the opinion that online didn't matter and that VF5 was the best fighting game on the market. if it was better than DOA, then the score would reflect that. DoA4 just barely missed AAA, so it was logical to presume VF5 would get low AAA. everyone knew that was the real cow position.
Very good score. Although I question their 7.5 for "replay value." They gave PDZ a replay value of 9 :roll: Anyway, it got 9s in the three very important categories and a 9 in the most important one -- gameplay! Also, they will be adding DLC in the coming months.

I have to call BULL again and again. So many threads had Sony fanboys saying Motorstorm was AAA and was a system seller kind of game. They used it in the same sentence as MGS4 as games to watch out for and games that will "own" everyone... and now it's hyped AA please... I'm not a fanboy so I don't need to say it was or wasnt AAA for any reason, btw I said twice Motorstorm will get 8.5-9.0 as my prediction.

I've been away from the forums for too long. I dont' understand why everyone's now hyping this game AA. Before I left here (check my post history if you care to) all I heard about was "motorstorm this" and "motorstorm that". I couldn't even pull up a page at system wars without a mention of the game.. plus I recall quite a few cows calling it AAA. But now all of a sudden it's AA.  I suppose its AA then. :P
8.9 is a great score even for a meh game like Motorstorm. I personally dont think the game deserves anywhere near an 8 but I am no reviewer so... Cows should be happy with this score.
Cows are so worried that their games are flopping left right and center. Now they try hard hide the flopage, by changing the hype at last minute or by not having the balls to hype AAA anymore. I still remember all the AAA hype of this game and how it was apart of P3 comeback March month, and teh system seller.

20 fps??? I've played the demo literally about 50 times and have yet to see any slowdown. IGN never mentioned anything about slowdown in their review either. The final version of the game is to have been improved so.... yeah... w/e lemming. LoL!

as far as i remember this game was hyped AAA- but thats not the issue here- it only missed that by 0.1 still 8.9 is a pretty high score- which is strange since the reviewer said the game lacks many many features- which if u ask me should have renegated it to a low 8 score.
8.9 is high AA, Gamerankings for US version of Motorstorm is 100, 89, 95 and 95. Thats over 94% GameRanking for US version. If you throw in crummy online less Japan version scores its still 85%! 94% for US version so far.

Honestly people sitll want to bash the PS3. No matter how many good games it gets. (This happened to the PSP as well.)
And as far as off line multiplayer goes, yeah its strange to be missing such a common game feature, but at least it has online multiplayer. Something the sheep still don't have for any of their games.

If it was hyped up to that release as AAA, how can Cows expect to change the hype? can't change the hype after the game comes out somewhere, unless you plan on going higher.

when was the official hype thread created? if it was not created BEFORE the december launch of the Japanese version of MotorStorm, the "official" hype thread doesn't count.

I simply can't wait for this game, and especially after watching the video review from IGN, there only complaint was the lack of tracks, but I can tell you right now that won't matter to me if the game only has say 6 and they are all the quality of the demo track ! I will be in heaven. :D
if it scores AA here, it's still up to the cows to determine whether it's a flop or not. of course, if they say it's not a flop then they'd have to say that lost planet wasn't one either.
