Whats the problem with home?

The problem is you have been waiting a few years for it to launch.

yeah and waited for ms to ripoff mii's too

its not rly a ripoff

how they look exactly alike?

what Microsoft did was take a realistic person like from home and gave it a look that anyone will enjoy of all ages now a rip off is taking every single thing about Miis and just saying avators, which it isnt, they are both different. by calling it a ripoff is saying the PS is a ripoff from nintendo, sega, etc, it may look different but it basicly does the same thing. and note, MC isnt a ripoff of doom, i beleive it was taking from what future US amry look.

I am not sure what the first one was, but I think MS had a motion sensing controller a long time ago for PC, and I am pretty sure the PSOne had a third party controller that used motion.

No motion control was ever done on such a level as Nintendo did it. Yes, it may be a derivative of past technology, but the Wii remote is leaps and bounds beyond what was done previously.

Nothing wrong with MS releasing avatars. But if they try to pretend it's not a answer to mii's, that's laughable. Every system should have their own optional version of avatars/mii's.

Personally, I like the Mii's because they are just simple enough. Too much customization causes them to lose their charm IMO.

How?

1. They are more graphically superior then Miis

2. More customization then Miis

3. Like Miis, they will be integrated into 360 games like Uno Rush and Scene It 2

Home just seems like a distraction....something else to do when ur not playing games. I find it hard to see its true purpose.

LOL. I love how in System Wars people say "A ripped off B" Not realizing that B isn't original in the first place.

Avatars have been around since the early days of the internets, when it was still being called "The information superhighway".

Nintendo ripped off Miis from the PC. So what's the problem?

Sony announces plan for Home more then a year ago and yet nothing as of yet. MS announces a re-launch of XBL including Avatars and too many other things to list and it's ready to be implemented when they said it would, fall 2008.

Much like game announcements. Gears 2 & Banjo N&B announced no more then a year ago and both will ship very soon where Cows are still waiting on GT5 & KZ2.

Topic should read: Sony Home Fails to deliver - same old story, same old song & dance. :?

No, you are right. No motion control was ever done on the level that the Wii did it, because the Wii FORCES you to use motion control. Thats its big "plug". Having options is a nice thing, because if I were to play a Wii like I do my 360, I would probably look like Popeye right about now. :)

Stopped reading there. Please, don't use arguments from other people without contrasting them or you will feel pretty dumb when you're proven wrong.

If anything, Home is quite the same thing as a Habbo Hotel, with some features more and in 3d.

Second Life? not at all.

Yes. And PC's FORCES you to use a mouse, and consoles FORCE you to use a joystick. All consoles FORCE you to use something. And some Wii games allow you to use standard/classic controllers or simply turn the wii remote sideways with no motion at all. It's not as extreme as you state it to be.

And I have playing the Wii consistantly since launch and no Popeye arms here (though to have room for anchor tattoos would have been cool)

Actually I hate to disagree with you but you didn't stop reading there because of that you stopped reading there because the comprehension on your side wasn't set high enough, and you had no argument againest any thing else i said.so ill spell it out for you.

Home is a 2nd life clone with gameplay options thrown in, Oh and just to let you know 2nd life is a habbo hotel clone...so whos wrong?
P.S: its not someone elses argument, I've been saying home was a 2nd life clone since they announced it.

When did MS ever compare the avatar update to home? Never.....the fanboys made the comparison not MS...Blame them..

I will play around with the ideas...but Home just seems like a waste of time...I would rather play a game then walk around and see ad's everywhere..

Yeah, I was LIVID when I first heard about the avatars. I was under the impression it was being forced on us, and immediately started a diatribe calling the Wii everything under the sun for bringing us to this. Then, I found out it was optional, and my blood pressure eased off considerably. :D

I get what M$ is doing with this, and as long as it doesnt affect me, and I am not forced to make one, I have little to argue against it. But yeah, I despise them with every fiber of my being.

JediRiff

Now you KNOW that you will make one when the update launches. YOU KNOW IT!

But anyway, MS said the avatars are rated "G" as of launch, but they will get to aa "M" rating in the near future ;)

And the avatar's animations are pixar quality

Home and Avatars are both similar in that they are A) Optional and B) Interesting to some.

I am sure that those who hate the idea of them will likely be the most into the services when they are out.

I could see people saying that theres no point to them, because they really aren't needed, but you shouldn't in any way get upset over it.

I think they are somewhat useful. People often check each others gamercard over xboxlive, and if your avatar is shown there it gives them some visual representation of who you are / your personality.

The pictures I saw of them had that cutesy feel to them. Its not what I like, at all. At first, I thought it was going to be a forced issue, and I had a massive problem with that... but we know thats not the case anymore.

Not to mention, the fact that I have gamerpics (some I have paid for) and I prefer those... especially the one I have been using for quite some time now. (The Joker with the card covering half his face)

Anyway, those issues are a moot point now. But, no, I still do not like them, or rather, their look.

[QUOTE="Animal-Mother"]In response to sony home= Fail thread, How are the ms avatars any better? Iown a 360 and am excited for the dashboard but i see people saying home will suck blah blah blah, well what are the avatarsoffering? I know its not being delayed but who cares! I see people saying home is rippingoff second life, but isn't MS avatars rippingoff Mii's?xsubtownerx

And Sony ripped off MS' achievements. It's the circle of life.
