Just a reminder, Xbox 360 store will be shutdown forever and ever on July 29 2024. Just to be clear, you can still play your Xbox 360 games perfectly, just cannot buy anything on the store is what's happening. If any of you have leftover Xbox points or dollars, ya better spend it before the deadline approaches!

I no longer have my 360, just a Series S for retro stuff. Nothing I see or need for 360. What about you? Oh I almost forgot. I guess we can say Xbox 360 will be part of the retro legacy if the store is shutdown?

Will have to check and see if there’s anything that I want to grab before then. I have an absolute ton of 360 games though so there’s probably not too much left for me.

This is referring making purchases on an actual 360 right...?

I could still buy backwards compatible 360 titles from an XB1/ XS system right?

@my_user_name: For some it depends on the game.

There are a few digital only exclusives on the 360 store, so those will no longer be available for purchase anywhere after the store shut down. I've seen some lists, lots of kinect games but some gems for sure

It's incredible they kept the store up and running for this long.

I'm more shocked MS didn't want to wait till next year as the Xbox 360 will be 20yrs old. Would have been a proper way sending out the Xbox 360's 20th anniversary.

I'm glad you said this. I forgot there are few games that are only available for digital only. I better have a look and see what I need.

Curious if there's a list of XB1 / Series X|S digitql BC titles that will be affected by this, like titles that might not be purchasable after this change. I might consider grabbing some if that were the case.

You are aware that you still have access to the games purchased even when the store is shut down, right?🤔

And yet, future generations can get these games, as they were, on physical 😎

Series X|S is two generations ahead of 360 and you can still buy and play digital games on them. 🤭

An all digital future isn't actually a good future.

Future generations won't be able to buy classic 360 games unless they fund them in physical form, but, but, digital am I right?

@last_lap: Notice how no one can actually argue an all digital future is actually good for gaming 🤣

@SolidGame_basic: Yeah no one in their right mind would argue that an all digital future is a good thing.

I'm fine in this regard, I run a gamestore so I have plenty of xbox 360s that I could use or take home if I ever need a replacement. I have a lot of games as well or well shall I say access to a lot, so when the store does close down I'll be fine.
But currently at my place I have over 150 physical xbox 360 games including some digital purchases as well.

You run a game store huh, have much retro stuff?

I have about 10 working 360's and 200+ games, I will be fine too, but future generations won't be able to play those games unless they get them physically, so you could be in for a boon in the coming years.

Steam store has been up since 2003, 2 years longer than Xbox 360 has been around.

The facts are that the games don't disappear and are still accessible for your grand kids to play by simply login in or playing on the current system. Not sure when grandkids playing your games became thing.🤷🏽‍♂️ Here is another fact, you can have multiple copies of the same game across multiple devices with digital and you can't with "physical", in addition to the other simple fact, you are limited to one copy per "physical".

You do know that digital and "physical" are just different storage mediums right?
