With a release in only 13 countries, it seems they cant even produce 1 million units in 2 months...

So unless they get more factories and better yields, i don't see that happening.

if wii u sold like 3 million in the first year, i would expect xb1 and ps4 to be at least double that so his predictions arent totally off base. what is off base is the fact that he made that statement to be some kind of research magic that only statisticians and analysts can predict.

but we will see after all the fanboys get their systems if the xb1 will still sell without a kinectless xb1. thats what im waiting for, and a price drop to go along with it

Man, I like the confidence, but the actions need to back it up. This is more than likely public posturing to put on a strong face in front of investors, because their actual sales data is no where near what this claims. In fact, their preorder numbers don't even match their main competitor.

I really don't see non gamers buying either console especially Xbox one (PS4 has been marketed from the beginning as a gaming console so I understand why non gamers would not buy that). Why would they spend $500 to watch TV or Netflix (Plus pay for Xbox Live to watch Netflix)? I'll admit, a lot of people are dumb and just buy the console without doing any research about it. Those people are gonna get screwed.

5 million in its first year maybe. 500,000 of those sales will be MS employees buying it for their kid's Christmas, or birthday presents.

That's the point. A lot of people would spend more for a product that is really focused on doing a couple things really, really well. We've seen it time and time again for all sorts of different products. People usually don't like all in one boxes. Most of those products go to the bargain bin in a couple of years. I think a lot of consumers are looking for a good focus for a product. The Xbox One has anything but focus because of the disastrous PR campaign. Most people who buy the X1 will be gamers and loyal Xbox fans.

The sports marketing I can see selling some units, but I think gamers will buy the X1 the most.

No link, im not basing this estimate in any MS link, but on what is happening with the competition.

We've seen the leaks of PS4 being manufactured and that a single factory expects to produce 1 million till launch, having at least another more factory producing them to release in 33 countries and more units per country than X1 (based on units available for pre-orders).

Since the X1 is only launching in 13 countries and less units per country than the PS4, its easy to assume that they are not able to produce 1 million units for the launch.

Its a point of view based on leaks/rumors, not a statement.

It took the 360 3 years ot reach 10 million. I think the X1 will do better, but not tens of millions in one year.  That's just stupidly delusional.
