[QUOTE="ManatuBeard"]

With a release in only 13 countries, it seems they cant even produce 1 million units in 2 months...

So unless they get more factories and better yields, i don't see that happening.

ManatuBeard

link?

No link, im not basing this estimate in any MS link, but on what is happening with the competition.

We've seen the leaks of PS4 being manufactured and that a single factory expects to produce 1 million till launch, having at least another more factory producing them to release in 33 countries and more units per country than X1 (based on units available for pre-orders).

Since the X1 is only launching in 13 countries and less units per country than the PS4, its easy to assume that they are not able to produce 1 million units for the launch.

Its a point of view based on leaks/rumors, not a statement.

So basically talking out of your arse.  Thats what fanboys do I guess

Exactly. The TV deals might sell a lot of people on it, people who want an all in one home TV box that can play games, netflix and watch sports etc. all from the one device without even needing to leave our couch too

At $500? No. If they release a model without Kinect at $299 then it will happen.

"Certainly in the beginning, its primarily a gaming console. Thats going to be the primary buyer. In all the research weve seen, therell be tens of millions of buyers in the first year and in the research we do, over 90% of them own an existing console".

Stated by Yusuf Mehdi that gimp from the reveal. What a deluded man. You're not going to sell 10s of millions of a console priced at $500 when there's a cheaper and better option available. 6-8 million seems more realistic.

http://www.dualshockers.com/2013/09/08/microsofts-yusuf-mehdi-explains-the-whole-xbox-one-strategy-expects-to-sell-tens-of-millions-in-first-year/

What delusion. Guys like this need to be fired and replaced with real gamers who actually understand the market.

Soul4Survivor

 :lol::lol: Them Crazy's at M$ :lol:

Remember when the Wii Launched and everyone was like it will never sell, its not about gaming....100 million sales later no one says a thing, although though the Wii was a crap system lol. M$ could very well sell 10+ Million in its first year, as their market is to gamers, Sports lovers, TV enthusiast, Media and app lovers, and overall entertainment. Im getting the PS4 and XBone, as they will both have GREAT games, but my XBone will go beyond great games as we don't game for 24hrs a day lol. Fanboys limit themselves, I will enjoy the best of both worlds

It took the 360 3 years ot reach 10 million. I think the X1 will do better, but not tens of millions in one year.  That's just stupidly delusional.

Kinthalis

That can't be true

Between 2005-2008 10 million Xbox 360s were sold then between 2009-2013 68 million Xbox 360s were sold?

Of course it will, most PS4 buyers will be getting it(me included) so both companies will sell similar figures, even if the charts and graphs and polls say PS4 is better by a mile in every country. It will sell millions and be successful.

Zaibach

early adopters who buy these en masse are tech zombies and core gamers not dude bros who are like seriously into their fantasy hand-egg.

why do you think they are scrambling over themselves to push the gaming angle.

he who wins the playground in territories like the UK and US takes the pot, and those who envangelize via facebook and twitter will be the first to get their hands on these new consoles.

Spoken like a true observer, its funny how i was at GAME the other day, most people who came there wanted the next Xbox, same with my colleagues at work, they want the next Xbox. Dudebros only want Xbox and are oblivious to news happening in the gaming industry, it is the hardcore like us who check up news everyday that would buy these consoles day one, most dude bros would want these as Christmas gifts or wait for a more reasonable price drop

Exactly. The TV deals might sell a lot of people on it, people who want an all in one home TV box that can play games, netflix and watch sports etc. all from the one device without even needing to leave our couch too

People seem to forget that the most used feature on these devices are the entertainment features like Netflix.

Ah well, we'll see soon enough. Personally I want a PS4 more than an X1 at this point, but I gotta shake my head at all of the stupidity surrounding these consoles. They are both going to sell. The PS4 may sell faster, but all it's gonna take at this point is a price drop to turn things around. That really isn't that much of a difference between systems especially if the games at launch aren't compelling enough. The X1's media features can certainly give it a push.

Same, I'd still prefer a PS4 over an X1 but people are seriously understimating the system. For good or bad the X1 has been in mainstream media more than the PS4 and any publicity is good publicity, especially if the thing that was so bad and talked about before ends up being changed for the positive

Again we'll wait and see, like you said I expect the PS4 to sell more right out of the gate but I don't think it's gonna be the landlside most say around here

lol dualshockers. Might as well call it the Cow capital of the world. I was commenting on a news story there and every post I made was deleted. Not for profanity, flaming or anything disruptive. I was including a possible other side to a story that would favor MS. They didn't like that very much.

You can't do any of the X1 sports features on a regular TV set and most of the other stuff; if you don't have one of the latest TVs, you can only duplicate it by having a PC connected to your TV.

It combines all the entertainment needs into one device (XBone) rather than 4 or 5 devices, its all done with no remotes, the sports features are enough to sell me, plus my Time Warner Cable on my XBone, and it plays GREAT games, netflixs, and many other apps. I for one wont limit myself to the XBone only as the PS4 will have GREAT games as well, the Wii u though I will never own, not my thing.

I love that they're trying to change the hype for the machine by hyping it themself.  Expected, but I haven't seen this much from a company before release.

I don't know man, I think it's possible. Xbox One is made for more than just gaming, and with Pachter's latest "PS4 will outsell Xbox One" prediction, we can safely assume that the universe is pointing towards Xbox One $10 million first year sales.

I'll believe it when I see it.

If they really believe that they'll sell tens of millions of the $500 Xbox One w/ Kinect SKU over one year then I think they're going to have a rough awakening. I honestly see them selling no more than 10 million units the first year; I'd even have a hard time seeing the PS4 hit 20 million units over the course of a year.

This reminds me of a local coop game where one guy forgets which half of the screen is his, so he's running into a wall and he thinks he's winning.

They have a box that cost less and does that it is called the cable box under your hdtv. You also have the roku 3/apple tv for example that give you tons of content. I don't see the x1 as that big of deal on the tv side unless they have a lower price for the content and that would just piss off the cable companies. You also have at least in NYC a shit ton of over the air hdtv channels. You also have many sites that restream shows and don't forget about torrents and IRC.

So personally I see no reason to get the x1 for anything but games and the ps4 has that for less money and better hardware. Also if MS thinks that the x1 is going to do numbers in the tens of millions then what will the ps4 do :D

I work in retail and I see and encounter hundred of idiots every day who bumrush the apple display to buy overpriced ipads/iphones/ipods and overpriced accessories/macs.

Now because I see so many morons put down 600+ dollars on ipads and accessories, I have no doubt in my mind many people will buy the Xbone and PS4.. simply because it is the newest "hottest" tech.

For that reason alone, i can see the PS4/XB1 selling 10s of millions.

Once Microsoft starts the subscriptions and deals with companies like Direct TV, Infinity, or whatever they might just do it. I would not get to cocky just yet.

You get a ps4 and a rouko 3 and you have the net to find the rest of your content. That is a much better soluton than anything the x1 can come up with,

then you are paying the same price, what would be the point of that?

No link, im not basing this estimate in any MS link, but on what is happening with the competition.

We've seen the leaks of PS4 being manufactured and that a single factory expects to produce 1 million till launch, having at least another more factory producing them to release in 33 countries and more units per country than X1 (based on units available for pre-orders).

Since the X1 is only launching in 13 countries and less units per country than the PS4, its easy to assume that they are not able to produce 1 million units for the launch.

Its a point of view based on leaks/rumors, not a statement.

ManatuBeard

So basically talking out of your arse.  Thats what fanboys do I guess

Im making a deduction based on the available information, its not my fault that information cannot be verified. And, as i said, its not a statement, its how i view this information.

I've seen worse shit being typed by you.

YOu should see thread he created about optional DRM, I asked why he wants DRM and he said he wanted innovation like having saint pattys day banners on sports games like madden i suppose lol. Lets have restrictions for a green banner, yay! lol

Also it's more than just gamers who will buy these systems

How many people are going to spend 500 bucks on something like this that dont play games? Then pay another 60 bucks for XBLG just so they can say "Xbox one turn on netflix" instead of picking up the remote they already have?

Maybe at $300 they could but like hell if they think most people will shell out $500+ for a new console to watch TV and play video games for the family.

Nintendo Wii sold well because it was cheap and family-friendly. $250? At that price (compared to its competition $400 & $600) people were buying Wiis to prop up their doors. Double the price though and I don't think you'll sell too many (not in this economy).

It's funny how many companies keep making this mistake. Sure, your device may have the greatest innovation in the world. But if it's too expensive, people won't bite.

Exactly. The TV deals might sell a lot of people on it, people who want an all in one home TV box that can play games, netflix and watch sports etc. all from the one device without even needing to leave our couch too

heretrix

you could do all of that with just the tv without gaming.....i rly dont understand that as a selling point for a console to do everything that you could already do with stuff you already have

You can't do any of the X1 sports features on a regular TV set and most of the other stuff; if you don't have one of the latest TVs, you can only duplicate it by having a PC connected to your TV.

you can watch tv on your tv. you can watch netflix and other streaming apps on your tv. you can surf the web on your tv. your pc can do all of that stuff. you can do these things with stuff you already have....so whats the appeal?

Guys like this need to be fired and replaced with real gamers who actually understand the market.

better cheaper option? can you tell me where i can get a mahcine that does everythinig the x1 does for less then 500? please tell me cause i'l cancel my pre-order right now for it. until then STFU! also i'm getting a PS4 and X1, but giving the PS4 to my kids and getting knack, this way i can play my X1 w/o them using it and if PS4 does finally make a good game for adults i can still play it ;) PS4 has nothing good on the exclsuive side, anyone who thinks they do is delusional

MS has better advertising. Also appeals more to NFL fans, wich i would presume is, most of America, and since America is probably the top priority for Microsoft, i highly doubt it won't sell tens of millions.

NFL in America is like Soccer in Europe I live in the US and football out here is like a religion to most.

I wouldn't laugh at them just yet because they could do it and make everyone look stupid.

That's probably where is is getting those additional sales from. The PS3 sold quickly when it launched not just for the games. Many people bought it because it was a cheap blu--ray player. Some consumers will buy it because it's an all-in-one entertainment box and they can control all their entertainment with just their voice or a wave of their hands. In any case, I think they will at least sell 7-8 million their first year and a lot more once they drop the price.

Once Microsoft starts the subscriptions and deals with companies like Direct TV, Infinity, or whatever they might just do it. I would not get to cocky just yet.

timbers_WSU
Agree and in the article Microsoft mention their going to shipped 100 games for xbxox 360 it that mostly going to be kinect titles and less exclusives?
