[QUOTE="jakehouston88"]That was what Microsoft did with their E3 conference.
They said they from a certain point on they were showing "Only on Xbox 360" but I saw alot of multiplats.

mm hmm. Just like Sony did with FFXIV. :D Let's be fair here. No need to invent facts to make your point. The guy at the Sony E3 conference never said XIV was exclusive to the PS3. He never used the word exclusive once, IIRC. He only said that the PS3 was the only console you'd be playing it on, and he's right. I knew from the moment he said it it was coming to PC, the way he worded it made it obvious. This post implies Sony had listed all the titles being talked about at the time were exclusive. Also never happened. For crying out loud, he had just gotten done showing XIII!Microsoft is notorious for using the word "Exclusive" liberally and deceptively. Remember last E3 with Microsoft bragging about all that "Exclusive" Fallout 3 DLC? Yeah, real honesty right there.... And this E3 is no better. Their showcase of "exclusive" titles were filled with multiplats, and I don' think any (intelligent) posters on here would debate it.
For Microsoft if they have a timed exclusive, it's called exclusive.
If they have a home console exclusive, it's called exclusive.
But all this really has no bearing on the OP. Microsoft and Sony have subsidized game commercials for years. Sony did it a ton with the PS2, and MS has done it more this generation, but both have always done it, and I don't see how there is a problem. The game gets publicity, the Console manufacturer gets publicity, and since they both paid for the commercial, they both got what they wanted. With how common this has become, I'm surprised this is suddenly an "issue".
